When this animation first came out, I figured that it would be just one of those boring fantasy animation, rom-com style, which I would hate. However, I was wrong and I absolutely loved it. The story is nothing like what I expected, as it is quite unique and very gripping. I suggest to you all to give yourself time for this...it is on fr#eec#artoo#ns (delete all #).

They only played truth or dare for 1 second and it didn't even tell what the Krusty Krab was like before him... They didn't get married, they didn't tell crap.
the reason its a movie is because, this movie is supposed to celebrate the 10th anniversary for spongebob. Because he's been here for 10 years. well maybe like 13 now. there doing it for his 20th aswell.
@nuclearzeon um, it's celebrating 10 years of spongebob and to celebrate, they made up all kinds of stuff that they KNEW would make people tune in. ( it also had to top all of the prevoius spongebob specials) so the wedding was part of the crazy secrets they made that got everybody to watch, so really, it wasnt JUST for the spandy fans, it was for, well, everyone.
I remember the first time seeing it. It was on Nickelodeon, at night, I couldn't go to sleep, it was exactly this commercial, I saw it. And that's when it came. I was obsessed with the marriage part. I drew pictures, I wrote stories about what would happen, and then on November 6th, at a friends sleepover I saw it.
Ok guys, this shouldn't have been that disappointing-
OF COURSE they wouldn't reveal the formula, they've played that trick so many times, anyways theoretically SpongeBob knows the formula already.
And sadly yes SpongeBob and Sandy wouldn't ever ACTUALLY get married, not as long as they plan to keep making episodes. Because whenever the characters get married that's the end of the story.
I don't why they call this a movie when it's only 30 minutes long... I really like this episode, but they should only call it a movie when it's about an hour and 20 minutes long. Truth or Square is more like a double length episode rather than a movie. The creators also shouldn't make big deals out of plain episodes and making them sound extremely epic by tricking the viewers into thinking Spongebob and Sandy really got married when it was really just a play. I just wish they were more honest...

Secondly, people always blame the creators for the promotion and commercials for the show, when in fact they have NOTHING to do with making the promos, and Nick has been known to make misleading promos. Just ask Dan Schneider.

First off, SpongeBob isn't even a scripted show. It is storyboard-driven, meaning artist driven. There was no one writer that left after the movie. Most of the original crew stayed to work on the movie and season 4. You say some of the new episodes are decent, I say they ALL are either great (they're SpongeBob after all!!) or at least have some great parts in them.
@KoopaEaterMKII I thought there was too much Patchy too at first, but I just watched it again and realized that there's a lot less than I thought. I'm not a 7-year-old, I certainly have a brain, and I LOVE this episode, and lots of the new episodes. Why don't you try taking a leaf out of SpongeBob's book, so to speak, and lighten up?? Either that or just stop watching the new episodes if you're just going to complain about them. OR even better, storyboard your own episode, or work on the show!

The marriage was fake but the priest they hired was unaware of it so they might have been legally married. Also the movie almost revealed Spongebob's religion, you could argue that the symbol on the priest's hat was an anchor shaped cross, or just an anchor.
Hmm, never noticed that. Would have been kinda interesting, but still, the movie would have been a whole lot better if they showed what they were promising to reveal. Replacing them with boring facts like Spongebob's first krabby patty, and Squidward's life without Spongebob (not even showing Jim, apparantly the original frycook) really just made this whole movie, imo, pretty pointless. To me, it just felt like another random episode.

Look up "list of spongebob episodes" on Wikipedia. They're usually pretty accurate. If you want to see the names of some upcoming episodes, you can even look up spongebob in the US copyright records database.

That was just a flashback scene. The narrator says in the beginning, "What was Bikini Bottom like before Spongebob? etc. "Now these questions and more will be answered...", and the scene is about Spongebob's early days as the Krusty Krab.
It's quite obvious, you would have to be really stupid to not get it...
In many episodes, Plankton tries to get the Krabby Patty formula from Spongebob, not Krabs. This outright proves that Spongebob already knew the formula, and the beginning of the trailer is just a flashback.

It was somewhat disappointing there weren't any big secrets to giveaway, but overall it was a pretty good episode.
The marriage play was a big let down tbh. The almost kiss however was so worth it. Very cute.

That was just a flashback scene. The narrator says in the beginning, "What was Bikini Bottom like before Spongebob? etc. "Now these questions and more will be answered...", and the scene is about Spongebob's early days as the Krusty Krab.

In many episodes, Plankton tries to get the Krabby Patty formula from Spongebob, not Krabs. This outright proves that Spongebob already knew the formula, and the beginning of the trailer is just a flashback.

I'm not a big fan of the new Spongebob series (after the movie it got stupid in my opinion), but I think Spongebob and Sandy won't get married because it might be set before the movie and in the movie Spongebob was single.
