I've watched him grow as a fighter since his amateur days, he's got natural gifts that other fighters don't. But he's always been susceptible to counter punchers because he throws combinations with no fear and he's been down a few times in his career. @AsianBaskero Most of the people who are high on Gamboa haven't even followed his career until the last year and half. I've watched him grow as a fighter since his amateur days, he's got natural gifts that other fighters don't. But he's always been susceptible to counter punchers because he throws combinations with no fear and he's been down a few times in his career. And Donaire is a wicked counter puncher with some serious power. It would make a great fight.

@NeoOsiris19 i've watched him too but it doesnt really matter what he did when he lacked the experience...now he has some matches,has fought some good fighters...also he's at the right age...i think he can dominate a good counter puncher like donaire...he's very explosive,strong and accurate...and also he can take a punch...so i my heart and my money are with him...;)

@NeoOsiris19 Gamboa is definitely vulnerable...that is really what makes him so compelling to watch. I believe Donaire would put him to sleep. Many have written off Juanma (justifiably so) at this point..but I would give him a great shot against Gamboa as well.

I personally feel that Gamboa is a very talented boxer with a lot of potential to be in pfp discussion one day. He has a lot of natural talent and good offensive skills. But I think he should work on perfecting his defense because he has a bad habit of walking forward with his hands down at times leaving himself open. But in all he has what it takes to be a big star because when he's on fire he impresses the shit outta everyone, like he did this fight.

Pacquiao ended Solis. It's funny how people are always accusing him of fighting other fighters' leftovers, but when Gamboa fights Pacs leftovers, he's suddenly a superstar. I wonder what people would be saying about Manny if Gamboa beat him first.

@osamabad Solis certainly isn't what he was when he fought Pacquiao, but he's also not washed up at all. Solis is a skilled veteran and the young, inexperienced Gamboa destroyed him. It's just amazing how good he looks considering how he's a relatively new professional. He's made Solis' experience look like nothing.
