* * * * Everytime You Go Away (1988) - Hall & Oates konekoxox Thanks for sharing this lovely song. == This song is dedicated to all my friends... Who really feel a true love and peace of mind in your hearts and consciences. Because there is no higher state of mind, and human-treasure that to be in real peace with youself and mother Creation. Have a peaceful night long. Maybe this night would be our last time. Love you all! Javier V. Maldonado
@JavierVMaldonado “All men’s miseries derive from not being able to Sit in a quiet room alone.” “All of our reasoning ends in surrender to feeling.” “As men are not able to fight against death, misery, ignorance, They have taken it into her heads, in order to be happy, Not to think of them at all.” Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) Científico, filósofo y escritor francés.
Notice how they start doing this song live after Paul Young made it huge. I bet they wouldve completely bailed on it otherwise, since the original version was no where as good
IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL TO LOOK AND SOUND THIS GOOD-LOL. I REMEMBER HEARING THIS SONG FOR THE FIRST TIME, I MELTED AND CONTINUE TO DO SO EVERY TIME I HEAR THIS SONG! LOVE YA SO- H & O, ALWAYS!
correct me if my facts are wrong but i think "voices" came out around 1983...paul young did his bersion around 1985...i dunno, i could be wrong...but i still think hall and oates did the original.
@jedccs Daryl Hall wrote it and Hall & Oates recorded it for their 'Voices' album released in 1980. It's track 9 on that album. Paul Young covered it and released it as a single in 1985. I recommend Hall & Oates' rendition from Live At The Apollo, it's superb. You can find it here on YouTube. People who think Paul Young's version is better should listen to that recording and revise their opinion.
This is a song about a girl who steals meat from her guys fridge as she's leaving him, time and time again............."Everyt time you go away, you take a piece of meat with you!"
The voice, the face, the hair, the body... Daryl was AND STILL IS sex on legs. Check him out on Live From Daryls House. The man is still a hottie and amazing for his age.
I think he was thanking Paul for covering the song and making it a hit. The song was on Hall & Oates 1980 Voices album but wasn't released as a single at that time. I was a big H&O fan at the time and although I LOVED the song, it wasn't the kind of music that was popular on the radio in '80. Paul Young released his version in 1985.

Paul Young did a better version of this song.........but Daryll Hall had better hair back then.........LOL.......fuck, that's quite a pompadour on that fella !!
Just love this, all the various renditions, and I agree with the mandolin sounds of T-Bone, who is unequaled...nobody better than this fabulous band...Hall and Oates forever, and their fantastic musicians..Please play this fabulous music forever. In my heart...Love, Patii
Unbelievable arrangement. The 12 string..T-Bone making his guitar sound like mandolin,as only he can do,and then OMG the concertina. The,high intensity of the electric.. Imagine how good that must have sounded in the hall !!
Yeah, it was written by Daryl. Daryl let Paul record it. I like Paul's interpretation of it too. I used to really like this song when I was a teenager.

Hard to believe somebody could do a better job on a song than with The great Hall an Oates, but Paul Young's version is fantastic.

Paul Young Sucks Big Time he nothing but a no talent bum compared to Daryl and John!!!
neilriv 3 years ago
My good man, I hate to be the one to point this out to you, but neither Daryl Hall nor John Oates own a boat (much less a Yacht!)
bbloodworth 3 years ago
As if that has any relation to their talent, or any relevance to the conversation!

Uh, hello. Ever hear of Yacht Rock?
bbloodworth 3 years ago
It's just a fake label people give to belittle musicians who are too classy to be understood by the typical simpleton.
I love Hall & Oates and Paul Young is a fine singer as well.

Many thanks for this video.
I DO prefer Daryl's version, more dynamic than Paul Young's.
How lucky is the Japonese public !!!
