  • Perfect live !

  • Hard to believe somebody could do a better job on a song than with The great Hall an Oates, but Paul Young's version is fantastic.

  • Beautiful, very nice. Thanks for sharing it.

  • luvely solo by T-Bone, who was a champion accordian player too ...

  • i love u H&O

  • Notice how they start doing this song live after Paul Young made it huge. I bet they wouldve completely bailed on it otherwise, since the original version was no where as good

  • Not sure. I saw on youtube that GM sang it with Paul Young in 1986 at Live Aid. I don't know GM ever released that version.

  • I like it paul's version and H2O, they're super

  • I'm out of breath, this is music and joy....why does anybody makes music like that anymore. Darryl Hall i a superb vocalist!

  • Ladies and gentlemen that is what you call taking your song back from someone who stole it!!!!

  • Hall is the greatest white soul singer that ever lived.

  • @RadiationCinema well one has to admit he is brilliant ( I'm a big fan) but I think Michael McDonald pips him on that score!!!???

  • they are just amazing!

  • so sorry t-bone is gone...

  • Does any H&A buff out there knows if this version is available anywhere in cd? or perhaps dvd? Would appreciate it..

  • IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL TO LOOK AND SOUND THIS GOOD-LOL. I REMEMBER HEARING THIS SONG FOR THE FIRST TIME, I MELTED AND CONTINUE TO DO SO EVERY TIME I HEAR THIS SONG! LOVE YA SO- H & O, ALWAYS!

  • Such a great performance!

  • This is a great song, It's amazing and admiring on how Hall and Oats music is still next to these years....nice.

  • correct me if my facts are wrong but i think "voices" came out around 1983...paul young did his bersion around 1985...i dunno, i could be wrong...but i still think hall and oates did the original.

  • @jedccs Daryl Hall wrote it and Hall & Oates recorded it for their 'Voices' album released in 1980. It's track 9 on that album. Paul Young covered it and released it as a single in 1985. I recommend Hall & Oates' rendition from Live At The Apollo, it's superb. You can find it here on YouTube. People who think Paul Young's version is better should listen to that recording and revise their opinion.

  • @erikstoffels Thanks man! Now i know my facts aren't that far off the hook. BTW i'm still 22yrs old and wasn't even born when this came out. ^^

  • @jedccs

it happens to all dude== i used to think "stay" was an actual Jackson Browne tune--

till someone older told me it was done by the Zodiacs in the 60's

    peace out!!

  • Well, damn -who did write this classic??? somebody do the research!! Still love any version- even the copycats!

  • This is a song about a girl who steals meat from her guys fridge as she's leaving him, time and time again............."Everyt time you go away, you take a piece of meat with you!"

  • dedicated to my sister who was taken a year ago-I miss you sooo Sissy!!!!!

  • Dedicated to my sister, who passed away a year ago today-I miss you soooo sissy!!

  • The voice, the face, the hair, the body... Daryl was AND STILL IS sex on legs. Check him out on Live From Daryls House. The man is still a hottie and amazing for his age.

  • my favorite too....

  • my favorite too.......

  • If Hall wrote it then why in this video does he thank Paul? I think it was Pauls first. And HandO version is way better.

  • I think he was thanking Paul for covering the song and making it a hit. The song was on Hall & Oates 1980 Voices album but wasn't released as a single at that time. I was a big H&O fan at the time and although I LOVED the song, it wasn't the kind of music that was popular on the radio in '80. Paul Young released his version in 1985.

  • "Better" my ass. It was bubble gum CRAP. popular doesn't equal 'better'.

  • I am a HUGE Hall & Oates fan, but Paul Young has some excellent vocal skills. He did a great version of this song too. Props to Paul.

  • AWESOME hair!!

  • Just love this, all the various renditions, and I agree with the mandolin sounds of T-Bone, who is unequaled...nobody better than this fabulous band...Hall and Oates forever, and their fantastic musicians..Please play this fabulous music forever. In my heart...Love, Patii

  • oh my goodness, look at that hair. that's the kind of hair i have...except i'm a girl! ha.

  • Reel em in T-Bone.......smokin'!

  • ...kevin bacon

H&O graciaaaas!

  • Fabulous!!!!!!!

  • Unbelievable arrangement. The 12 string..T-Bone making his guitar sound like mandolin,as only he can do,and then OMG the concertina. The,high intensity of the electric.. Imagine how good that must have sounded in the hall !!

  • what a beautiful voice; what a great artist

I like the Paul Young song, but this is the real deal...

  • Yeah, it was written by Daryl. Daryl let Paul record it. I like Paul's interpretation of it too. I used to really like this song when I was a teenager.

  • @castilcl

    You got that right:)

  • @castilcl Yes it is, it's true... yes it is....

  • Nice hair

  • can you send me this?

  • this was the greatest version in the history of the world!!!!!

  • 1988年・東京ドーム公演での「Maneater」「I Can't Go For That」「Dance On Your Knees」の動画をお持ちでしょうか?

  • Paul Young Sucks Big Time he nothing but a no talent bum compared to Daryl and John!!!

  • My good man, I hate to be the one to point this out to you, but neither Daryl Hall nor John Oates own a boat (much less a Yacht!)

  • As if that has any relation to their talent, or any relevance to the conversation!

  • Uh, hello. Ever hear of Yacht Rock?

  • It's just a fake label people give to belittle musicians who are too classy to be understood by the typical simpleton.

I love Hall & Oates and Paul Young is a fine singer as well.

  • Many thanks for this video.

I DO prefer Daryl's version, more dynamic than Paul Young's.

How lucky is the Japonese public !!!

    LOVE U DARYL !
