GBM,Wonderful crescents, You found more in one day than I in 25 years of earnest hunting.A friend of mine who has found a couple dozen [6 unbelievably thin butterflies, all very sharp on widest side] in Black Rock Desert says ALL were in or around dry lake beds and used as points in duck hunting. The wider tip giving a better chance at damaging a wing and "grounding" a bird. Care to comment??? GSH[ 6 intact Clovis's- 0 butterfly crescents]
any Day like thats worth some rain, awesome finds, lovd that eccentric (as I have a few,but nothing like that) sweet cresent lovd the materail in it, wish I had some sand like that to hunt in
YES!!! I have been waiting on you to have a day like that for a while. Now us mid-west boys have some competion on our hands. WTF is with the flute music??? Best of luck on the next hunt.---Tim
Really nice to see you back out! Those crescents are to cool! We've been keeping our eyes out for some beads here but haven't walked up on any yet, you'll know when we do. Thanks for posting
Great start to your year ,i love the weights and hammer stones :-)) It rained here today and 3 days ago they finished working my favourite field so I am ready for some head downing Happy hunting ;-))
@trevanddi Thanks!!! Crescents are a paleo tool, I think the butterfly and quarter moon crescents were probably a hand held or halfted scraper, used to process "something". I think the eccentric crescents were more effigy like, maybe representing animals. The whole crescent group, even to the experts, is a real mystery!!!!
Ahh you are so lucky to not be annoyed by the leaves falling from the trees! There is still a ton of foliage to fall here in Missouri and then it will take many rains before the creeks are worth looking in again. The uncovering of the first artifact was amazing and it looks absolutely awesome! The coloring on the butterfly crescent is beautiful! It looks like you had an awesome hunt and I'm glad to have tuned in! I'll be waiting for the next video. Thanks for sharing GBM!
