  • @FlareOfDawn Hope this wont be flaged as spam, but.. will recommend soething..

First of all AnVir Task manager.. there is a free version (youl see why its really cool app)

And disable all autoruns.. (autorun and autoplay) :)

And yeah, windows needs care, but its great OS..

  • @FlareOfDawn man im not stressed over it :D

Its just is stupid how people (and mac and linux it self) shits on windows, when they dont even know how to use it..

I agree, that mac os is more simple user friendly, but common.. If mac had so many viruses, we would see how good it would be, to handle them :) but for windows all it needs is some little tweaks :P and its cool :P

Btw, tnx, had a good v/d xD

  • @FlareOfDawn You know.. your wrong..

There are just stupid windows users, who dont know even what startup is.. and installs all kind of shit to the pc and then complaining, that windows is slow.. sow SHUT THE FUCK UP, if you could take your head out off your fucking ass and look around you would see, that all programs put stupid shit to your pc, so windows is not the one that should be blamed.. SO SHUT UP PEOPLE.!!! I HAVE USED XP FOR 4 YEARS AND WIN7 FOR YEAR AND IT RUNS AS FAST AS 1ST TIME.!!

  • i think the point everybody is missing is, both operating systems are far from what they could and should be. Yeah theres some merit to the whole "which one is better?" argument; but in reality this is just the consumer being sedated with good enough. Rather the reality of it is, if the consumer on both sides of the fence scream bloody murder the products become better. To be frank, I've used both and both Os's have there merits but are being held back by the fanboy love affair.

  • well, snow leopard beats windows 7 in:speed, stability, richness in features, filesystem(no fragmentation),beauty.but windows 7 beats it in:security, ease of use, superbar beats dock, windows explorer has an adress bar unlike finder.but apple in my op will highly fix security in os lion.they patch really fast, they even made 2 patch records

  • @FlareOfDawn It is a myth, and the maintenance takes less than one freaking minute. Disk Defrag, that is something to do when you are away from the PC, at the mall or something. Virus scans? Avira is free, and you can scan while you game, no time consumption there, registry repair-takes a minute or two, once per month. Have you even touched a Windows PC?

  • @ysflightman

Honestly, I have a laptop with vista. It was quite fas for the first year or so, then there were unnecessary things in my user folder, and shortcuts weren't deleted when I uninstalled something so it screwed up the whole performance altogether. I can't wait to get an imac.

  • @FlareOfDawn That's why you clean your registry and Temporary internet files. The whole "Windows slowing down" myth is BS. I have an old XP machine, and after 6 years of just cleaning files, It still runs like new.

  • To customize Snow Leopard; Icons, Menu bar, Dock, login screen and more!... Go to TheMacHow2 Youtube Channel!

  • MAC is good for work, but it never was that good in gaming stuffs. I'll stick to windows.

  • @malloucius Try boot camp, parallels, or VMfusion software. Best of both worlds.

  • I like a lot Mac osX but i'm unable for now to buy a macbook, for now i prefer Ubuntu to windows and Ubuntu makes windows 7/vista/xp feel like a slow old man!

  • Buy Screenflow

  • Pc's are a drag!

  • UNIX rulez

  • Uh? 45 seconds to a minute... Like what are mac people talking about . This is so much clutter, how the hell am i suppose to find something fast?

  • win 7 yeah!

  • hey man how you do your tricks with stack in snow leopard personally I am using snow leopard but didn't figured how to do it do you use a plug-in like secrets or something like that anyway hit me back aight peace

  • mine says 10.6.1

  • This looks like a simplified version of Linux Mint...

  • Windows owns Mac

  • Windows 7 fanboys seem to highjack Mac youtube vids. and what's worse is they have never tried Mac. I have both.

And Snow Leopard makes Windows 7 feel like old crap.

  • @jwmpexpress

windows 7 the best OS mac osx dont have the useablity of win7, even have it on my mac so HA!

  • how do they highjack them

  • your mom feels like old crap

  • @jwmpexpress not really, they are both equal in my mind... I would rather use windows for development though, macs aren't that great for software engineering...

  • @jwmpexpress ok seriously? snow leopard makes windows 7 feel old?

obviously you don't use windows 7 you're jus a fanboy who likes tries to convince others that his o.s of choice is the greatest when in truth hsim docke is trying to convince himself. people use what does the work at a price they can afford. want a mac get one they are good machines. try a linux distro not easy to learn but worth it dont want mac not too tech savvy for linux get a windows based machine

  • @jwmpexpress i have both operating systems,Mac OS X 10.6.7 and Win 7 Ultimate SP1.Mac Os it's good and fast, and Win7 TOO!In my opinion, you are the retarded type that u mentioned, that talks without trying...Windows 7 is fast, good graphics with any kind of options(i can make it even MacOs-like,,light,with an internet connection it will recognize anything i insert in my pc and it will auto-install driver in seconds...Nice and easy! Most haters(like u)compare SL with ME or XP that they remember...

  • i'll download the cracked one and install it on my PC just to test it ...

  • I love Macintosh! It's the best! If you don't agree than do not watch OSX vids.

  • I decided....

    "It's a piece of SHIT!"

  • Maybe one day they'll make an Os as good as Windows 7

  • It's the complete opposite: Finally Microsoft made an OS as good as OSX

  • Now it's decided: I WILL BUY A MAC!

  • Congratulations :) I bought an Imac. Cool as hell. Simple and stabil.

  • is snow a lot better than regular leopard???

    RESPOND ASAP PLZ!!! :)

  • It is, its a lot faster, tho it is sold out

  • Yes really fast and stable, and boots and shuts down very fast

  • 4FalconAF, thats becus apple is SHIT

  • god....leopard is far better than snow leopard...they should have waited a bit more and made a better version without those many flaws...like applications, whose window comes up with some screens...expose quits out of nowhere...toolbar up ahead becomes invisible out of nowhere again...and it's not just me..a friend of mine bought a new mac and has the same issues...

  • i don't think snow leopard is out of beta yet so.. ,they will prob fix all that, snow leopard is supposed to be faster than leopard tough

  • dude, you can buy snow leapard as of last month lol

  • That isn't the latest build now of Snow Leopard.

  • oh yes lets not forget about microcrap which comes out with another shitty os to take the heat off a previously shitty os. can anyone say microsoft knows that vista blows!!!! btw win7 is vista corrected, lol. same gui and it will have the same reputation. it's like putting a bow tie on a turd, it's still a turd.

  • Yes man i'm 33 year old and i'm bored of these shit, i hate the upgrades of os and hardware, i'm bored of being ripped from upgrades.

I want a safe and fast pc 1) for my bloody job, with software that make things done fast and with quality , 2) No worry for viruses and installing free antiviruses every year, 3) Dont like to messing with games , i want to stop them, --I want to make the transition to Mac, i wanna buy a mac mini and keep it untouched for FOUR YEARS, YEAH!

  • ...The only bad is that The price to buy a mac is almost 2,5 times more than an equal pc, too expensive.

  • If you only look at some tech information it is more expensive, but the build quality of a Apple is way better. It just will last for years without that you'll notice its getting slow or out to date. And if you want to sell a old Mac you can get a lot for it, try that with a cheap acer laptop. After a year (if the screen is still attached) it will be word 100/200 euro...

  • Apple has better hardware and software quality, but some people can't afford it's price.

For example why a 20" Monitor costs 800 Euros?

Anyway i dont have financial problems and i'm prepared for the transition. I'm too old to be pc noob and i must focus to things more significant.

From a little surfing on the web i found that apple has very good software that makes things faster and better.

  • The 24" monitor that costs 800 euro has a professional led display, with a exeptional view angle. Cheap 24" displays use LCD instead of LED. Comparable monitors are priced the same as the LED Cinema Display. The display quality is very important for designers to be accurate.

  • But you must admit they are expensive , even ram and hard disk is expensive with no any reason.

Anyway the only thing i want to know is if a mac mini with 4gbytes ram runs fast applications like:

web design , a little of photo&video editing, Ms Office (Access).

Does it boot fast? and how many years it will last , imean how many years can run the new software fine ?

Thank you for your help, add me as a friend to have someone share my mac experience and help me when i will get a mac.

  • ...forgot to say that i will not miss windows aero, really! And i hope that Apple will not include this in its future operating systems, i don't like it, really.

  • It's true that a certain ammount of money is just for the brand, some updates are indeed too expensive. Made the switch myself few months ago with a iMac 24" and MBP 13" and I don't want back now.

Knowing the old Mini with 1.86ghz processor and 1gb ram starts up in just 48 seconds the startup time will be great on the 2009 model with 4gb ram. MS Office, webdesign, standard photo/video editing will run smoothly, but will be to slow for games on high settings.

  • Newer versions of Mac OSX always get slimmer and faster, so I think that in 5-10 years you still can install newer versions. Leopard still runs smoothly on 5> year old macs. Only sidenote (and I think thats a exception) is that the new Snow Leopard doesn't work on old non-Intel macs.

  • I'm not very interesting in games, but what do you mean? i could run a game in a 1024x768 ok? what a little more resolution?

  • Well the graphical card is certainly not a gamers card. It's good enough to play not to heavy games on normal settings / 1024x768. But if you plan to play flight simulator x on good settings you can't expect a high framerate.

  • if you are talking about the Mac's graphics card, then you are wrong because i play FS at a smooth speed when i run windows with boot camp. older macs couldnt handle it though

  • no u couldn't

  • no,apple does not have better hardware quality, they just choose the good stuff for you,so it does not have variety, but if you know what to buy,,and what software to use, well ur still gonna feel better using windows,on some areas tough it's good to be using a mac os,but u can install it on a pc,so there is no need to pay some extra money

  • take windows!

  • dude will this run on pentium 4 ( 2 core pc) with 3gb of ram ddr2 and with nividea geforce 7600 graphics?????

  • Yes

  • yup im just now for the first time after almost a year having to go and archive files because i had to install adobe cs4 suite for class and its practically a memory and space hog. rather just use pixelmator and rapidweaver dammit.

  • why has it got the old quicktime logo?

  • I like windows

    I like mac

    I like linux.

I will triple boot them on my PC.

:) To see the difference with my eyes

  • Now Snow Leopard with QuickTime X can grab screen. You don't need ScreenFlow :-)

  • Its all the same shit, macs are trying to be like windows in terms of versatility functionality and windows is trying to be like mac in terms of aesthetics and user friendliness, and imo, i think windows reached its target first with windows 7

  • I will stick with Windows, mainly because I'm a gamer, and the much much cheaper hardware, and much easier upgrade ability.

  • mac is easyer to use. you never have to defrag the HD drive microsoft office for mac is cheeper then windows version mac is classy.and simple to use! windows laptops ,when you go to buy one are diverse .and confusing ...windows operating system is a virus catching machine!! there really is no compitition when it comes to virus danger mac allways comes out on top!!! the mac is a better safer cheaper in the long run.. really do some research .pc laptops should be googled befor you even touch one

  • um im 17, goin to college could anyone just tell me the basic pros cons with mac and windows so i can get a laptop for college, taking astronomy courses at Arizona U

  • I was a windows user that switched to mac and I love it. if you have the extra money go mac. with windows that i owned i got viruses a couple times just by surfing myspace. some viruses can't be removed and you gotta pay someone to remove them. I actually got quite used to reinstalling my entire operating system which I did probably 6 times since I owned a windows laptop. cheap yeah, but costed me in the long run. i've had some small issues with mac like sleep wake and bluetooth issues

  • Pay to have viruses removed? Only if your a complete idiot.

  • vcrules15,

you should get a MacBook Pro

  • nice OS. I wish I had a mac system... :)

  • What program did you use to make video?

  • ScreenFlow Demo.

  • agreed. :)

mostly on the part about Apple and Windows being restricted.

You are a Linux user too?

I like the GUI for Apple and MS and many variants of Linux, but looks aren't everything [especially in this case].

  • no. just no.

  • OH WOW u can arrange by name I could do that in Leopard and no obviously you don't know anything about leopard otherwise you would know screen recording is built into Quicktime X meaning u dun need the shitty software like screen flow!

  • Ubuntu owns this crap.

Like wow, big deal. We now have a quicker way to open applications and files, cause it takes SO long to click 3 times to go to the Apps folder.

Seriously, Mac is all about Eye Candy, and everybody knows it, all they've got is the Z0mG n0 V1rus3s!@1215&*%^ and apparently it's "fast". You wanna see Fast? Try any popular Linux Distro. Then you'll know fast.

  • 1. Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. Apple officially announced that 10.6 would focus primarily on stability and optimization rather than eye candy.

    2. You seem to believe faster is always better. You know what, I can create a crazy fast application in like no time. It will have no functionality, but daaaamn... so fast.

  • Ubuntu is shit!

  • want more?

    h t t p : / / winmacsv . blog spot . c o m /

enjoy! only for mac users like you!,

  • can i installed this operating system on my PC?

    this is my specs

    corei7 4.2ghz

    24GB of memory DDR3-2000

    2GB of video ram hd4870x2

if it can,i wan to buy this operating system

  • if its a Mac then yes. If not, then not legally, but its still possible. way to choose Mac OS X to maximize ur computer's potential rather than goin wit Windows to destroy it

  • No.

Mac OS X can only be installed on a Mac Computer.

You can install it on a PC but you have to have Hackintosh to be able to do it. (Although i think it breaks the legality issue of the OS itself).

  • or PearPC

  • whats different

  • lol that actually sums up the main things you can do on a mac.

  • I Don't like Mac os x Snow Leopard

  • STILL LOOKS SO GAY........

  • Wel, and compared to Windows, Mac OS is easy, good looking, much more advanced, stable, fast and a lot more safe to use. Windows is still copying Mac OS. Suck on that, retard.

Go and play with your "instant search" and 3D chess.

  • Mac has nothing. It fails so hard.

  • Go play with your.. uhhh yeah, Mac's can't play anything useful. Btw, have fun upgrading your hardware with the WIDE variety of 3rd party options.... oh wait.

  • The good thing about Mac computers are the fact that hardware and software are developed by Apple itself and none other.

This eliminates incompatibility and unstable software to hardware or hardware to software connection. Which means, Mac's software and hardware works seamlessly side by side (or together)

And if you have queries, you only need to call Apple support and not all single one manufacturing company.

  • yeah you're right; I've been using a Mac for 3 years now. I never encountered a single problem.:P One thing also that i like Apple was that u don't need a bulky & heavy hard drive like most windows do. A lot of wires to connect, which makes it frustrating. With Mac, you only need like 3 to connect. That includes one for the screen, one for mouse & one for the printer:P Going to buy & upgrade to 10.6:) Snow Leopard here we go:)

  • LOL. So the Intel chip is developed by Apple and the Western Digital harddrive too? What about the RAM?

Open up your Mac even an iMac and see the manufacturers of all the parts before saying something this stupid.

  • That is how apple rips people off, overpriced much?

  • its only 30 dollars, though... its not like this video shows EVERYTHING they updated in the os..

  • lol. I can't believe microsoft have only now found out how to make a search that works, oh and what about 3D chess? Mac OS 10.1

  • Mac's interface is designed for people with jobs and, thus, don't need to be distracted by fancy overdone glossy-cliche UI whilst doing said job. It's called the 'utilitarian' look, and it works perfectly.

Plus, for those of us who have a job and can afford a mac, we can always change the UI if we so desire.

Think on that as you push trolleys through wal-mart.

  • Wow. Yeah that's amazing how ignorant you are. Your comment is as priceless as useless... Sounds like you're talking out of your ass... Stuff yourself down the incinerator please. If you make claims, make sure you can back them up, otherwise you look like a 3 year old douche...yawn

    1. Copying

If Microsoft would have stolen everything Apple had made, then Windows would have had a poor 15% market share instead of the 80% lol...

    tbc... )))

  • "Copying Apple GUI" - wtf are you talking about??? MSFT had a taskbar way before Apple even got the idea for "The Dock", the days Steeve Jobs sucked dicks for living...You can't compare usability of Win7 taskbar with this Dock bullshit, the second one can't even handle shortcuts. MS have had an instant search toolbar since W2K / Millennium. Widgets has been available since Win 2K it's just a matter of downloading it. so on...

  • yeah cuz programs were always found on the bottom of the screen is MSFT...no one just knew how 2 do it

  • Actually thinking that way you can assume that crApple copied the idea of OS itself.

I know that asking iSuckOnAppleFanboy to put some effort into the comment and get its facts straight is like asking a porcupine to poop goat cheese. You're a just too fuckin retarded.

Btw, I personally prefer to see neat and clean (really professional) interface rather than this unresponsive jelly blur-gray-blue back to 1999 OSX crap.

  • 2. Performance

The fact is that Windows has access to the latest hardware advances. You can actually use it with Intel i7.

    (networkworldDOTcom/community/node/44512)

    OpenCL - LMAO

    3. 64 bit

Heck, WIndows already has a fully 64 bit kernel in 2001, Mac only has it now with Snow Leopard, that's 8 years later!!!

    4. Stability

OS X is the most stable in the world? Is that why it's always so busy on the macfixitDOTcom forums? Really, for me - OS X never crashes. Neither has Windows 7 or XP.

  • you can actually use mac with an intel i7 as well (iMac)

  • 5. Vulnerability

Apple patches 18 Mac vulnerabilities ships OS X 10.5.8. Also Snow Leopard now ships with malware protection. You can easily find corresponding articles.

If macs so great why do you have to have Wine? Or why do you have to pay 29$ for Service Pack... Moreover "Beyond that, the real enhancements are invisible to the end-user, said Case. They're enhanced developer tools." (informationweek(DOT)com) sounds like a nice way to say "we've done nothing"... thats sick...

  • this might be obvious but it's not a service pack!

  • Really I'm not hating on mac. I have a Mac, and it was working just fine. Mac's aren't crap because they are unstable, Macs are crap because they run, what, about 10% of the stuff I want. I installed Windows 7 back in April on my macbook, and I haven't started Mac OS since then. You should try it by yourself. Go play with you photo and video editing tools, dork... Oh sorry you can't even run a 64 bit copy of Photoshop CS4... Thats pathetic...

  • crApple system and software suck big time. End of discussion. This video just proves it. Thats it. You don't have to embarrass yourself by answering.

  • The people that say that Mac sucks, have A: never had one, and B: are probably just too poor to buy one. Get a life you fuckers!

  • let's see windows try and copy THAT! :P

  • wow your a fucking idiot. go to hell but not before i fuck you in the ass so hard that cum comes out of your eyes. ill kill you and all of your friends. your a piece of shit

  • What the hell kind of software do you want? Give me a list of everyday software YOU use, not everyone else, YOU.

  • hey your a dumbass what program won't work on it... Any program will cause you can have windows and mac suck

  • no windows sucks, MAc sucks?? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • WOW !!!! I really couldnt be assed to buy this but WOW ! lol

  • if i upgrade does it format my hard drive or does it just upgrade the os

  • That is the default installation method for Snow Leopard; it does not remove any of your installed applications (disables any which are incompatible, but doesn't remove).

  • these are just visual changes!

  • get a grip man, do some research and you'll know that these aren't just visual changes. i challenge you to install this on an iMac g5 you won't be able to...

  • It's an 'under-the-hood' upgrade; new technologies, refinements, updated technologies, improvements.

  • im getting this on friday

  • que bonito

  • nothing much has changed on how it looks i dunno if the looks can ever make a major change like it did in leopard

  • There was no purpose of this video because this isn't the latest build and you can't see the updates and added features, you would have to go to the site and see the improvements and new features.

  • shows nothing new ...

  • oh so you can scroll in grid view can you?

and you have the put back option in trash......?

a simple slider in finder to adjust thumb size and preview direct from finder.....

    mmmmmm

    something new ?

  • boooring

  • lol Apple is giving us Snow Leopard on August 28th! and it is so cheap for like $30 :o

  • I am getting it from the up-to-date-program for about 10 bucks because I got it on July 19. :)

  • Why would you say it's fake? I love it, anyway. Just the kind of improvements Leopard needed.

  • leopard needs no improvements. it has become a thinking being. it manipulates humans into giving it what it wants.

i should know. i am mac. and i just killed windows.

  • You keep thinking that little one. lol

  • fake!!!

  • no its not

  • no wen apple introduced it they gave out demos of 10.6 its not fake

  • There is no sound? I almost fell in sleep...

  • i just made up my mind, macs rules, there the future of the desktop

  • agreed!

  • nice ejob. makin up ur mind by watchin a video

  • Howso?

  • lol

  • I just ordered an upgrade for 10 bucks

  • where?

  • Comment removed

  • Anyone know when Snow Leopard releases?

  • srptember 2009

  • Mid September

  • 10A432 is GM

  • Thanks man

  • Where can I get your beautiful wallpaper with the beetle?

  • its one of the defaults on macs

  • hmm nice, but i was hoping for a new interface..

  • It's only a beta. It'll prolly be different when it comes out

  • same with windows 7, they're testing it right now and it will become available later.

  • (I even have access to a 1990 mac that still runs lol)

  • Mac OS X would be greater if all of its upgrades haven't been so frequent and expensive

  • erm OS X isn't expensive, the cost of vista ultimate (full version of vista) is triple the amount. Mac OS X has always been priced at $129, this year though its $29, I like updates being frequent it keeps me looking forward to everything and Tiger was out longer than 1.5 years it lasted from April 2005- October 2007. that was because of the intel switch though.

  • i don't know what to do to upgrade or stuck with leopard itself

  • did you mean how can I get this version?

you can find it from any torrent trackers, the newest one is build 10A4xx

  • How did u get it?

  • if you look in the right places you can find a beat;)

  • The question is not 'how long will this OS last' or 'how useful will it be'. It is 'when will it come out'

  • All this hype about SL is ephemeral... Within 1,5 year it will be about the 'next big' OS X
