  • nice is this space under the rod gear

  • Life in the slow lane. How exciting.

  • @scaryGTM why would the slow lane be exciting? Yeah you were using sarcasm but what makes you think a Prius is a slow car? Sure it may be average to below average at acceleration but it easily can go over 100pmh...which nobody should do in USA anyway.

  • @MWalton209 It takes a comparatively long time to get to 100mph in one, and the process of doing it is rather tepid, sedate, functional and non-inspiring. I realize that you don't buy one of these cars to be inspired as it relates to the process of driving, but this exemplifies my comment 'life in the slow lane'; you buy one to be as feather-footed as possible so as to achieve close to the 43mpg which is the vehicle's only selling point. Nobody SHOULD do 100mph anywhere, but they do.

  • Great review! I like the new console look on the 2010 and the added horsepower on the 1.8L

  • Gayus

  • @Ragref exactly

  • when you press the PWR mode button it kicks in as much power as her Bull Shit story! :D

  • old prius vs new prius. but its still a prius..

  • @d0nlyTrixta aint that nice!!

  • When your press the PWR button... Watch out

  • ma'mm I dont want to be a jerk, but did you know that the polution it takes to make a prius is more than what a gas guzzler will do in its lifetime?

  • @Duramost - Source?

  • Uninformed people making uninformed videos that have also been paid to do so. I need to thumbs down this video, but I can't.

"The Prius takes off like a jackrabbit." -I lol'd

  • @bloodynuggets XD Hilarious!

  • put it on snowflakes at the begining all the way to the end and see how many there are

  • My Prius is an '05 and I get 54 mpg when I first purchased the car. Now it have reduced to an average of 47 mpg. I do not know why. Only significant changes are oil change at Toyota authorized service center, and a tire replacement at Sears.

I vacuum and air blow the air filter regularly.

  • @UnitedPebbles The problem is that battery is dying and doesnt hold. Also the quality of engine parts is poor, because the main engine is very expensive to make so the other parts has to be lower quality so the car would cost 5x more.

  • @HowkeyLL

Yes, I think it will probably need to replace at 400,000 miles.

  • @HowkeyLL - Your source is? The battery has a 100K mile warranty. It is one of the most reliable cars out there. Check out the JD Power surveys...

  • k sweetie dont say power and pruis in the same sentence

  • @uvillindians113 XD Funny!

  • Ha I have an 01 prius. the much older one's.I still enjoy my little car.

  • Prius is the best car ever made!

  • @Chipchurella THEY ARE THE MOST HORRIBLE, CRAZY, STUPID, REDICULOUS THING IN THE WORLD AND EVERY TIME I SEE ONE I PRETEND TO SHOOT IT!!!!!! THATS HOW CRAP IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @cocooreo100 I am totally agree with you. Lets stop old Torys rhetoric and enjoy the greener and more responsible future! It is much more economic as well!!!

  • @Chipchurella you make me sick

  • @cocooreo100 i can't believe there are people like you in the world.you are useless.

  • @AdamAus85, Yea man true that. Mopar or no car.

  • Pretty depressing to see folks interested in such cars.

  • I have the 2010 prius in just this color.... LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!! even with gas over 3 bucks a gallon, on empty i can't make it take 30.00 dollars and i drive forever on a tank of gas... so to all you prius HATERS out there, Keep paying those fatcat gas companies all that money. and while your laughing at me for driving a prius. I'm eatting steak while your driving your gas drinkers and eatting bologna.

  • @razorbackfan2011 you are the only person I respect on this page, there is absolutely no reason to dislike Prius models, it's ridiculous how people slate them when actually they are relaible, quiet, comfortable and obviously economical. It's a brilliant car!

  • @freakkiller277 it has the same fuel consumption than average European car. It cant go fast because when you do, you have 1/3 mpg than reviewed. Its economy depends on that you drive slowly and dont stop often. The materials in new prius are still horrible and after 3 months of use, some parts broke down. Also the pollution made by creating such car is as horrible as producing 5 Hummers.

  • @HowkeyLL - Pretty much everything you said here is a myth - what are your sources? What 'european' car has a 0-60 time of 10 secs, averages 70mpg (Uk imp Gal) seats 5 people with luggage with plenty of head/leg room?

  • @asmiddleditch Volkswagen Lupo.....

  • @Drifter9020 - A Lupo? Seriously? A 3 door tiny, slower, hatch. A Prius manages to get the economy it does seating 5, with lots of legroom, large trunk/boot and a much higher spec. There is only one Lupo that betters the Prius' 0-60 and that's the GTi. The MPG for the GTI is?

  • @asmiddleditch :/ Why are you still going on about a Prius,a car not even a motoring enthusiasts car about.

  • @Drifter9020 - This is a video about this car. I don't think the comment is out of place.

  • @asmiddleditch ....Don't bother replying to me again.Conversation from me is over

  • @Drifter9020 Ok. Thanks for letting me know. ;)

  • no matter how you cut it, still a prius.....

  • She isn't playing about that pwr button. I think Toyota watched that top gear Prius Vs M3 video.

  • a jack rabbit really i laughed so hard when she said that.

  • Saving the planet is not possible when "ecological" cars are so expensive and not pollution less. To bad that there's no Renault in U.S because they have made a fully electric Sedan that is good and normal looking and it will be around the price of a diesel in France and UK

  • @Luisgtm95 It's economical' not 'ecological'. get the facts right before you say anything, idiot.

  • @macbookprofan90 Still a bad car, get a diesel

  • @Luisgtm95 diesel is for big heavy trucks

  • Hybrid cars suck

  • power? POWER?

you want to say that that turd on wheels is POWERFUL??

I did the math, you could pay the 30k for a prius, and get your 50 mpg, or you could go on craigslist and buy (used as an example because its my car) a '76 cutlass supreme wagon, with a 7.5 liter V8, getting 12 mpg for 1500 bucks, and you could drive it 100,000 miles before you get CLOSE to breaking even, and that isn't counting manufacturing, and toyota ships the supplies for the prius from around the world.

    damn character l

  • @montey1017 u could probably find a cheap used prius as well

  • @turdsandwicher yeah, with 1.2 zillion miles on it...the prius is a newer car, newer cars are very expensive unless they are seriously messed up...I define 'cheep' as less than 2 thousand dollars, you could probably find one, even one that isn't too bad, but that would take a lot of time of sitting and waiting for one to come up...

  • @montey1017 dude im pretty sure they started making them in like 2000? theres gotta be cheap ones. Anyways I looked a couple local ones up. 11 thousand for an 05 with 110 k KM. thats not that bad ill try to find an old one cause i know they had a first gen. But yeah i guess your just cheap lol

  • @turdsandwicher 11k is a small fortune...I am 15, no one hires a 15 year old, the fact I came up with 2k for a car is pretty impressive compared to my peers...I was making a point, and really anything after 1997 is really expensive...there are some cars that are cheep because they are straight up crap, like an '02 kia rio, with 90k on it, 5 speed, in the junk yard with a new head gasket for 200 bucks...

  • @montey1017 wow you are only 15.... anyways i bought a 98 tercel 8 years ago for exactly 2000. Best car i ever had.

  • @montey1017 If you want a good car, look into a 5-speed ford festiva (1990-1993 models) or a 5-speed ford Aspire (1994-1997).

You can pick them up for around $500 in good running shape. (Not joking.) They're cheap to buy parts for and you get between 40 and 55 mpg, no batteries required. Plus, it helps the environment to buy an old car than to have a new one made.

  • @WyattSmits yeah, but they are so light weight they don't handle well...no power anything, and you don't have enough power to get out of any trouble...

I did get an old car though...not small, not fuel efficient though.

    look at my channel

  • @montey1017 to be fair, it has a fairly average petrol engine and an electric motor, so it has a considerable advantage over other cars away from the lights, but yeah, the handling can be a bit of an issue, either way, I don't think that the whole car's weight is the issue, more or less just the way it is distributed, maybe if they did it like Peugeot do with hybrids it would be a bit better, where the electric motor + battery goes in the back and the engine in the front

  • @TheMegaJet a 1.8 is NOT average...2.0 is small, 3.0 is maybe about average...4.0's are common, 5.2/5.7's are still all over the place, and if you look for it you can still find 6.2, 6.5, 7.0, 7.3/.5/.6 gasoline engines...just the other day I saw a caddy 500 still in daily driver operation (8.2 liters if I'm not mistaken)

and I have ridden in a prius, it is NOT snappy...it may have big torque numbers from the motor (150 lb/ft if I am not mistaken) but its geared high. plus it handles like butt

  • @montey1017 3.0 may be average in the US, but in the UK, the majority of our cars are built with small engines that are designed to extract a good amount of power without sacrificing economy, take the Peugeot RCZ for example, a french car, with a 1.6l engine, it gets 200 bhp, does 0 - 60 in 7.4 seconds and can reach speeds of 146mph, and yet it still averages high 40's to mid 50's mpg. The prius is not snappy, but it does still have a considerable advantage over other 1.8l mid-sized hatchbacks.

  • Comment removed

  • @montey1017 I haven't had any trouble's with my 01 Prius. I drove it cross country over the Rocky mountains fully loaded because of moving and it handled great! I had no trouble's getting into Denver and so on for my trip.

  • all she cares about is just her fat ass.go get a sofa instead, bitch!

  • @qwahhh wish i could give u thumbs up!

  • whichever one you get, it still sucks...

  • I don't get it. There are plenty of family cars that are slower than the Prius, yet you continue to rip on it? It's not meant to be a sports car or a precision track driving machine. It's a family car and it's made to be as easy as possible to drive and as economical as possible with plenty of advanced technology under it's easy-to-use interface. I really don't see why you would hate it so much. 10.8 seconds to 100 km/h is not a bad time either, for such a car.

  • power mode? lol i could beat this car while driving in 6th gear the whole time

  • you can get better mileage if you walk...it would also help you slim your fat ass

  • @americanu197 i would like your comment if i could

  • how does it look "crunchy?" The only way to make the front end look "crunchy" is to drive into the back of a semi

  • There are cars that get 50MPG, like the Geo Metro with the 3 cylinder engine, but they are the exception, and doing 60MPH is pushing the Metro.

But fact of the matter, a car with power steering and brakes, air conditioning and the like, and 50MPG? that is doing something right!

  • this lady is a dumbass

  • hehe were all forgeting the fact that this is a prius....

  • i get better mileage out of my truck...

  • @StreetxDSM No you dont... A truck that gets 50mpg in mixed driving? No you don't... If you do post a video, because that will be news. It would be such news, that there might be book deal, movies, and of course t-shirts.

  • @JaisenJames ... its a smartass comment.

  • woooo she acts like she doesnt know what a prius is

  • The new one has a "crunchy" look??? WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT EVEN MEAN!!!!!???? This lady must be a complete dumbass to have even said that. Like WTF no it doesn't. I personally think the new Prius looks a hell of a LOT BETTER than the old one. Both the front, sides, and back look a lot damn better and sleeker. This bitch is officially the DUMBEST FUCKING PERSON IS THE DAMN WORLD. Like wholy shit she must be a mental retard. Someone please go KILL her I cant take this idiot anymore.

  • the only jack rabbit this ogre is going to see is a jack rabbit dildo up her vagina

  • Yeah I'm sure that prius goes like a jack rabbit

  • the Prius isn't a "green" vehicle at all. it's a hoax. please do some research on what it takes to make a battery for these things. tell the truth.... GREENINCNYT.

  • @pugggs , I looked into the lithuim process for a battery and there is no more polution then any other battery!

The green comes from the car turnin itself off at a stop! save Millions of gallons of gas! Secondly the car runs with two motors one gas, the other electric cutting down the fumes even more. I like my Pruis and I enjoy the saving on the gasoline! It has been trouble free so far up 90,000. so far and I like that!

  • bmw i8 wins

  • NO HAND BRAKE??

  • @mikeeiley Its a foot operated brake in place of the clutch pedal on lesser cars.

  • @mikeeiley Gonna miss doing j-turns in the hybrid are we?

  • @mikeeiley I believe the Prius has a foot brake -- sort of like the Nissan Murano and Nissan Quest.

  • Great review, thank you!

  • is that emblem on the front lit up?

  • @HedgehogOutdoors All Toyota hybrid models have a blue highlighted logo. It's not lit up, but it still stands out.

  • @myNEONCITY Oh, ok. Thanks for the response!

  • After much research and testing I still prefer my old vw tdi. I'm able to achieve 55 mpg on highway and with the 15 gallon tank I could clear over 800 miles easily per tank.

  • she prefers the old look to the new one? Damn, how can anybody take this woman seriously?

  • @dunti21 I agree 100%. This lady is really dumb.

  • peice a shit pruis cummins diesels are better top gear hates this car you should too a golf diesel is waaaaaaay better and a cummins could drive over that

  • for every stuck up person driving a prius there is a douche bag driving a big truck, it all balances out, so why all the hate?

  • The production process of the prius still pollutes more than you can ever compensate by it's economic fuel consumption...

    Buy something else.

  • @mirkoslol fill up the land fills with that electric crap

  • So fuckin gay

  • I guess she means for a prius its a jack rabbit

  • Prius is a Prius. You can never change a Prius

    Fuck it.

  • @MrBoogiboo Fucking LOL Win!

  • micheline? Are you fucking serious? Your parents named you after a TIRE? LOL

  • Takes off like a jack rabbit? Bullshit, you obviously know nothing about cars except for how fucking "GREEN" they are..

  • @thefamilyk really, cars with an electric engine can get away very quickly. Nothing compared to a sportscar of course, but still faster than cars in the same price class.

  • @netsnake24 BUT, the ones made for performance are lucky to get 100 miles to a charge...

  • =))))))))))) after seeing how a prius owner looks like i definitely dont want to be one :)))))))))))

  • The priuses are both pieces of shit! buy a real car or dont drive at all.

  • @shaggy020 Haha ok, even sports car owners will begin to look for a "daily" 52mpg average is a gooooood pusher for this car. It isnt designed to go fast, its designed to go the distance. Talk all u want, but as u know, gas isnt cheap and at $4+ in most states a performance car isnt all its cracked up to be anymore.

  • "power mode"?? are we still taking about pruis's or did you switch to somthing ealse really fast and i didnt notice???

  • and at 1:16... really?? watch out?? for a prius?? takes off like a jack rabbit? this is no pious prius wtf?? lol wtf is this a drama TV movie re-run? haha this lady needs to experience an 8 second quarter mile E.T. in a blown big block 468 chevelle

  • @DGKall2010 to be honest ive seen the new prius take off WOT.. and let me tell you.. for what it is? that little sob is quick!

  • lol she looks like this lunch lady at my school

  • it's car for fags

  • the only reason this car sells is because the average joe doesn't care about how much energy and resources go into the making of it, they only care about their own gas "savings." get a diesel or a Honda if you want to really save the environment, without sacrificing a fun drive.

  • @todd5854

honda needs to do something about road noise

  • @Celsior400 never noticed it in my friends '92 Civic. is it just the newer ones?

  • It only gets gayer..

  • @GarrettKeetley thats right, so this electrical non sence bullshit is just stupid! check the video where clarkson drives M3 and prius for 10 laps, and m3 gets better mpg.

you get 51mpg of prius on motorways i presume, i city driving that will be even worse!

  • the greenies tell us go hybrid, but has anyone measured how much energy goes into building a hybrid vs a standard ic engine car and the pollution caused to build both vehicles, the parts, the batteries, the labour? what are the components that wear out in a hybrid over a period of time, i`d be happy to be proven wrong but i suspect in the final wash up , old faithfull might come out on top.

  • personally i`m not convinced hybrid is the way to go, hybrids are a hell of a lot more complex than a standard IC engined vehicle, and more expensive to purchase if i`m not mistaken, internal combustion engine is very versatile, it can be made to run on many different fuels, some far cheaper than petrol, lpg is fairly popular in Australia, its about half the price of petrol.

  • @mikldude actually, while rare, series hybrids can be much more efficient, and not much more complex. you can have say a 50hp internal combustion engine running all the time, but a 100hp electric motor driving. that setup works really well, because the gas engine needs to be sized for average power demand, not peak.

  • thehulk3010, the fiesta econetic is very frugal , and has won many car of the year awards in many different countries, i think your wrong about the reliability regarding the other brands, looking at WIKI,The ECOnetic gets an estimated fuel consumption of 65 mpg-US (3.6 L/100 km; 78 mpg-imp).[31] When tested on the highway mileage and emissions test schedules, on which hybrids are designed to perform well,[32] the ECOnetic outperforms the Toyota Prius.

  • 53 mpg.... its shit, normal diesel can do it..

  • Bitch just talks about the seats

  • if i wanted to be economical i`d rather have the ford fiesta any day,

  • @mikldude wow, 28/37mpg is better then the Prius' 50/49mpg???

and Ford screwed the US for years ...why are you still supporting them?? the Fiesta was selling in europe since the 70s and While small cars from japan and europe where taking over the market, Ford JUST NOW is bringing the Fiesta?? a little to late when Corollas Yaris Civics Sentras and even Hyundai are way better and more reliable

  • For some odd reason you disabled the ratings. SO I will say *RATED ZERO*.

Only because you don't know much about cars or you would realise it IS the old Prius with a few cosmetic changes. If Toyota were serious they would put better batteries in and allow far greater electric only use. As it stands, in the UK no one buys them - they buy turbo diesel cars for true 50MPG+ economy in the town, better performance, cheap tax, cheap insurance & take it anywhere cheap servicing. Prius is old!

  • @urbex2007

I think blowing energy out into the air over the break disks is a waste of fuel. And diesel cars produce MOUCH more air pollution than petrol (at the same MPG) - and they are louder. I like silent cars.

  • @urbex2007 diesel stinks and the diesel cars make noise pollution causing sleep depression

and toyota is smart... why do you think every car maker is on the same HEV bandwagon not stinky diesel

i am an engineering student and i can tell you that hybrid electric vehicals are the future

  • Buy a turbo diesel. Mine is a 1600cc ford focus, it does 55MPG in the town and 72MPG on the motorway at 70MPH. Cheap to tax and run, far better economy than a prius. The prius was left behind 20years ago when diesel technology was invested in and advanced. If Toyota was serious they would combine electric with diesel. What they forget is that the engine needs miles to warm up before it allows combined electric/petrol use. It's old technology and dead really. Get a diesel for power&economy.
