  • Oh my God. He is the epitome of prejudice and stupidity.

  • This is weird - I love classical music myself, but I don't see any reason for the hate towards jazz music. Many other people enjoy heavy metal music; I don't but I respect them, and I understand there's need for loud music in the world.

  • I don't agree with the whole jazz vs. classical music thing. Jazz and classical are two different styles of music who are both very large. This automaticly means that both genres will include both good and bad musicians. It's as simple as that. This is the first time i have ever dissagreed with an OSHO statement, but hey! the man was not a musician, and i am. Classical music was his music of choice, and i bet you he enjoed it as much as possible.

  • @superkulmedkniv25 ...go out of duality... in silence...you will see...:)

  • u can only disagree when u urself r enlightened otherwise its meaningless to agree or not agree with an enlightened master like osho.... my love ! its out of love that he is trying 2 make the world understand but only 5 percnt really know what he is saying....

  • i'm surprised of how intolerant he was about musical tastes. I think he was just kidding... well he can be wrong like any other human and those were other times anyway

  • Comment removed

  • Money is in the mind only. It's an agreement. Stop the agreement and the money disappears.

  • He's not even talking about money ppl. He's talking about the elegance and beauty of the appreciation of raw untouched natural physical existence.

  • free from hunger, free from poverty .. he is absolutely true! to be spiritual now a days u should be rich!

  • You're everything I always dreamed things to be, you even respect money, it's too rare to find people like us who respect music. Wow! Not a philosophy, or religion, I know what this is: aesthetics, your way of life is the art of living, it's art, your voice is all I heard in the beauty of an artist ever since I was an artist. You enjoy visual and audio arts, but I heard Derrida says the artist is blind.

  • I am not against money, but the way we use money is the problem.

  • ma osho uncle ko bichar sanga bilkulai samahat chu...

  • As a "jazz musician" I will respectfully agree with Osho... jazz is Zen and thus you need no "formal" training to understand it... it is spontaneous and beautiful for what it is... and people who over value "jazz" as a concept spoil it! As Miles said, "jazz is just a word invented by white people to mean 'n****r music'"... wisdom is so many layers deep that contradictions and conflicting answers are ALWAYS part of the puzzle! Namaste!

  • money is just an illusion..

  • disagreement is misunderstanding.....total agreement is fanatic.....

  • You disagree only because you did NOT understand a single word he said. You heard, but did not understand.

You need more meditation to understand his words. Your mind as it is will never be able to grasp his true meaning.

    Peace out..

  • i disagree money controls us. the only reason we depend on money is because thats how the economy works.

  • Osho has it's own thoughts ,there are some philosophy ,but it's not how to live,it's not how the world is made.

  • @leldux10 agree!!!

  • Absolutely accurate as only one who is Awakened would state...!!! THANK YOU!!

  • Money can buy a lot of RRs.

  • Everthing that Osho says is truth about money to, but Reincarnation I don't believe!

  • @daysilu you will understand,not believe,someday.

  • I love you Osho but you are just making up reasons for yourself. Free from poverty does not mean rich my friend.

  • Money is a device to eliminate greed pertaining to perishable goods. With the introduction of money, we can accumulate wealth without worrying about waste. This doesn't solve the problem. The problem is greed. If there was a severe lack a greed, and an increase in compassion: there would be no need for money.

Every greedy action you take causes the world to become worse. If we all give ourselves up to each other and trust each other, over the years the whole world will be this way.

  • I, myself, agree that most jazz is NOT music for listening - but it's great music for making. It's lovely to create music in the moment.

  • religions are NOT against money-look how rich dalai lama is- life not need money nature provides all- bird song is better than "classical music"- no books are wiser than the forests- which are killed for books-

'great forests have limitless knowledge-but also - limitless vibrations feelings living growth & colors food clothes -our great nurterer

  • the cloth color he picks for this talk perfectly fits the subject

  • OSHO misses the mark here. I agree with him most of the time, but here he's off base. While I agree that money can be a wonderfully, liberating thing that frees people from the material worries and concerns and certainly makes material life a lot more tolerable; money should not be a necessary bridge to enlightenment. As far as Jazz or any other form of artistic expression is concerned, art is a pretty subjective thing. He just has an ear for the classical, a tolerable prejudice.

  • I don't think Osho teachings are not born to "live by". His "way", as he has said before is to disturb people, to make them think & question themselves and their enviornment. A Good and Bad label can be given to almost ANYTHING depending on how its used or percieved.

  • I don't like Jazz either. I disagree with him tho. Money is a poor invention that has served only greed. Bad Osho teaching there.

  • He doesn't like jazz, LOL! But before you get your panties all knotted up, there may be something else motivating his comments that is not directly spoken, and which therefore cannot be so directly understood.

  • what a shame for osho that he wasn't able to grasp the true beauty of jazz music.

  • im very surprised to hear him talk about money like this ... wow ... almost like osho has something left to overcome himself... i remember my grandmother talking about not seeing money until she was 14 or 15 yo (1940s) . wasnt apart of her upbringing in the hills of kentucky. she said they didnt want for anything and didnt think they were missing out on anything ...

  • I think what osho is saying is that without money in this society it makes it hard to experience the beauty of life "free from hunger, free poverty." He doesn't say that the order of things is right or wrong. He just is explaining that things are the way they are and if you have money in this world it is easier to experience life.

  • Sadly i have to say that he´s terrible mistaken about jazz music. It´s waaaaay far from being a random music as he seems to suggest. I´ve spent 20 years learning to play jazz and it´s been (and luckily still is) a formidable adventure, very worthy of god itself.

  • @Trueno33 I am wary of how he suggests 'understanding' of music. I am also wary of how he suggests jazz needs no learning to understand it. I therefore suggest, that he is being somewhat reflexive - he says that to understand classical music, it takes years of learning, and seems to almost scoff at those who do not understand it. Has he not considered, that perhaps he does not understand jazz, because it, like all other types of music, requires years of learning? Seems most narrow minded.

  • I totally agree for the simple fact that it is not the wealth a person has, but what they do with that wealth.

  • perhaps Osho doesn't know the meaning of jazz

  • i like all different genres of music, rock jazz, blues and etc... but his statement that jazz is not a music, does not disturb me at all... i think all his concern was spiritual growth of the individual... so here he is talking about cases when music does not require any awareness ( u just listen to metallica and bang ur head), and yes i agree jazz is very sexual music, rock is very cathartic music, and this music has its own beauty, but only listening to classical music u can reach that peak

  • @blaindis whut peak ? Whut is it about Classical music , that he is refering to ? whut's special about it ? Please tell the rest of us on the comments , cuz clearly none of us understand . I actually wus very confused at that statement he made . Cuz the only people i know of that Listen to Classical are rich, stuck up people . the same people , politicians and such that he is talking against at the same time.

  • what is the name of that book?????

  • @sirasy :: the book of mirdad

  • Anybody noted the name of the book? The book of what? Couldnt understand the name...! =(

  • @Letti666 the book of Mirdad :)

  • The moment i heard "even monkeys understand it" i hit the "Like" button.

Yes, it is something unique, but not all things that are "unique" are of equal value.

It depends heavily on the artist, how "enlighten" he is, not on the genre. Some lyrics have a deeper meaning, while others are plain stupid, so stupid... that "even monkeys understand it".

  • This guy is a little behind in time.. talking about jazz in the 80's. He oughta listen to some rock'n'roll if he thinks jazz is a lot of noise.

And btw, when he's talking about classical music, he means INDIAN classical music.

  • This man has never been to a rock concert or listened to "DEEP PURPLE"

    I can tell.

  • i love is outfit

  • jazz isn´t music.... he sure belives to know about it...

  • dont like this one of osho.

  • Thank you, i loved this.

  • life needs money... thank you for posting this

  • Love supreme by John Coltrane -I wonder if Osho ever heard it

  • thx master. i have understood your point...

  • I must say that this is the only time that I disagree with Osho. Money is one the most controlling devices know to man. People should be rewarded for their efforts, but we should not have to work for money to live on a planet that we were born on. Being a musician I can say that jazz music is just as important as any other form of music. Jazz allows the musician to bring forth something unique. It allows you to be who you are. This is something that Osho teaches. "He can't always be right" 1LUV

  • @tbonea1dam1 I tend to disagree with you. There is nothing inherently good or bad within money at all. The only good or bad is that which you place on it. Money has no control over anyone or anything, only weak addictive and unaware people are controlled by money; just as they are likely controlled by multiple other area's of their life. Money can be used for both 'good'and 'bad' it depends on who is using it and what they do with it. Money is only a form of currency to simplify transactions

  • @tbonea1dam1 Guns don't kill people, dynamite doesn't kill people, money doesn't control, people use the tools as weapons. That doesn't mean there is something wrong with the tool. You still have knives in your home although you can be killed with it. And, without the knife, your cooking would be, although not impossible, very much deteriorated. Just like life is altered by poverty. That is what he is saying.

  • @tbonea1dam1 Osho is a human being. Human being are not always right.. Human beings have opinions. Human beings have likes and dislikes.

  • @tbonea1dam1 Well said! we should not have to work for money to live on a planet that we were born on. Agree 100%

  • @tbonea1dam1 U r just mad that you don't have any money....should have chosen a better career...don't be a fucking hater!

  • @tbonea1dam1 dID U PAY FOR UR INSTRUMENTS DID SOMEONE SKILLFUL HAD TO PAY FOR TRAINING TO MAKE UR INSTRUMENTS DID U EVER PAY FOR LESSON SOMEONE TIME DO U PAY THE MAIL MAN TO DELIVER UR PRODUCT wHO PAYS FOR THE GAS TO DELIVER THE INSTRUMENT OR UR BOOK OF KNOWLEDGE MONEY IS ENERGY MONEY OR ENERGY CAN B A COIN PAPER BARTER OR TRADE BUT THERE IS ALLWAYS WORK ENERGY N TIME INVOLVED

  • @tbonea1dam1 If you dont even Agree with Osho... The People from all religions.. are going behind money... non-stop and will never be happy to loose it.. So Osho is right if u dont seek money.. All other will get it.

  • @tbonea1dam1 Probably Osho was a Libertarian, not a communist.

  • @EdsonAvilaTorres osho was neither of them my dear friend. . . he was here to awaken d whole human consciouessness. . . to remind us who v r ! n who v belong to !

  • @tbonea1dam1 money represents value. the introduction of commerce between our huntergatherer ancestors was THE revolutionary step that eventualy led our species to where we are now. anabling people to specialize in what they are good at and trade for things they are bad at. eventualy we came up with money that would stand for value and make commerce easier and more efficient. that is called progress. without this we would still be tribals and the suffering in the world would be much greater.

  • @vjanik 'Tribals' as you called them do not have 2 world wars causing 60 million plus deaths, hundreds of million deaths by colonial expansion, industral slavery for400 years, not to mention the distruction of the planet and wild life. People like aboriginies have lived in Austraila for 50 thousand years without causing genocide and ecology distruction like the 'modern inhabitants'. Put yourself on the 'wrong end' of your idea of progress and you will understand

  • @tbonea1dam1 WHen he says Jazz..I think he means Pop .. .

  • @tbonea1dam1 I agree with you. Besides, he's wrong when he says that religions are against money. That's what they profess to people, but in fact religion institutions need and use money continuously. Money and religion go hand in hand because they are tools of mass control.

  • @tbonea1dam1 In other words people should work to give you the necessities of life without you giving anything in return?

  • Well, I guess OSHO isn't a fan of John Coltrane and Sun Ra, who I consider very spiritual. But then again, he doesn't come from the experiences that gave jazz birth. Sounds a bit elitist to me. I don't find "classical" music anything to write home about. But, what is "classical"? Who defines it? Is it the Beatles? Fela Kuti? Bob Marley? What is actually "classical"?

  • I am 15 and listening to classical music, and I used to be called weirdo and nerd because I love science and classical music, and I think " everything what is sang, is too stupid to be spoken " but classical instrumental music is a real music. It's a melody, which you are listening to again and again, but song is something that you make speak again and again and again until u are zombified.

  • @Leofox94 song is melody. life is song. become a zombie of creation

  • @Leofox94

    Very nice comentary, Leo.

  • @Leofox94 Excellent for you Leofox94 for being only 15 years old and being aware how music effects. You are a smart cookie!!! I agree with you that all music with words are too stupid. Some people don't realize how many negative words and comments that are in those main stream music. It's amazing how the music take over our lifes in our cars, at work, at home, at clubs & bars... no one can stand the silence. I think every place we go in life, should play classic music. I recommend Budddha Bar.

  • i want to see more of this talk!!!

  • osho changed my life

  • is difficult to understand osho and its relationship with divinity of no judgement.Regarding what he says about the jazz music and the noise is his point of view (but according to what I think ,he means that music comes from the power of memory, not inspiration) as I understand classical music comes from inspiration as Beethoven and other musicians already knew the zero state or the void .But who knows if what he is saying is inspiration or just memory! Only divinity knows as hew len says

  • OSHO doesn't like jazz music it seems...

  • Does he think he is a Prophet or something?

  • @lala79568 nope, not at all :)

  • @lala79568 y.e.s.

  • @lala79568 he doesn't think, ever!

  • @lala79568 no he can't be he is bold

  • "We all live in a yellow Sub---" and ppl love these guys..

  • Agree with him about money, but who the hell is he to define what is great music? Music and Literature are Arts and is subjective to interpretation.

  • @SmuraiDem0n if you can't apreciate classic music than you must be def. Ussually people who don't apreciate classic music enjoy trash like RIhanna and Jayz and Kanye West.

  • thanx, StealthCamping..

  • if one really understands him U cant proff him wrong ... good hear him

  • does anyone know what is the book that he is talking about here?

  • You cannot consider one that he is meditating by his physical movements Mr, umkalzum. It is the state of mind and not the body.

    2. Meditation is like a flower and you should become a hungry fly to get it. It does not matter whether you are rich or poor. You must have hungry of learning, hungry of finding truth, hungry of becoming happy. So, poor is busy with his daily struggles and he cannot think of anything such i mentioned above.

  • i also wonder why he blinks so little

is this from deep state of meditation??

i agree but how the osho foundation helps the world dealing with poverty??

    just asking..

  • meditation first and last freedom is very good book

    in search of miracal

  • This is amazing. I just posted a video response to my friend Freeman's video "You Chose to Be Here" talking about this very topic. In my response I talk about the importance of money and it's connection to human evolution and our biological matrix. I also state that it's the corruption of money that is the problem, not money itself.

  • THIS GUY HARDLY BLINKS

  • @ballu Evidence of a steady mind...

  • @ballu he would probably win at a staring contest. I do NOT know anyone in my circle of friends that doesn't blink.

  • @ballu That's because he has no fear...When fear disappears from your life, you stop blinking....

  • @ballu eye is the only part of brain that is visible outside,,,, i wont explain further,,

  • @studies say that the more you blink the more you lie. That's truth not fiction so he must be very convinced about what he's saying.

  • absolutely agreed

  • The Book of Mirdad is a very amazing book. You can find a copy of it on Alibris.com, I recommend this site for finding those hidden gems.

  • Can someone tell me the name of the book mentioned by Osho?

  • @gringo3331

It's The book of Mirdad written by Mikhail Naîmy

  • @paganinnocence

    Thank you!

  • I disagree with the music thing, makes no sense because if the sounds of leaves and the sounds of waterfalls are music then any sound in the universe is music including jazz, Hiphop rock etc. these are all sounds created by men who in turn were created by nature so therefore it is nature making those sounds that monkeys like! and if monkeys like it then these men are making fantastic sounds cause even animals are feelin it.

  • People make shit music all the time, your perspective sounds stupid.

  • @lunthayphudi

we start as a natural beings, but we get removed from it assoon as we grow up.

many people feel they are not as natural anymore as when they were a child. ofcourse we always stay part of nature, but our minds get in conflict with many things, so we think we are not natural anymore. in music or art we try to get back not nature. but many music fails in this concept, which makes it 'artificial'.

  • @lunthayphudi i agree with u

  • @lunthayphudi exactly :)
