While your design evokes a sense of his formal vocabulary, some of the poetic fluidity I so associate with his work is not as evident; though I can see that it may well be yet in there with some further refinement of the concept.
Look up some of his sculptures - this may help clarify what I'm trying (unsuccessfully I suspect) to get across to you - it's a nice piece, and a good direction - do take it further!
He often adds a dynamic element (the moving "finger" elements in his pavilion, the brise de soleil "wings" in the Milwaukee Museum) or a plastic deformation that visually implies motion (Turning Torso in Malmø, Sweden) then fleshes that out with secondary & tertiary elements. He like apparently unbalanced gestures, but while retaining a good real-world balance via offset counterweights, guy lines and so on.
My one critique would be: most of Calatrava's work is an abstraction (albeit rendered down to geometric simplicity) of natural systems / gestures: he often starts with sketches of human / animal forms & gestures, then abstracts those further into sheer gestural abstracts. These become either the formal concept or the overall parti, and from those initial points the design evolves.
