Why if the war was just about oil the US would have invaded Mexico instead. It would be logistically easier cause they are right next door, and they have larger oil reserves. if John McCain supports the troops why has he voted down the new GI bill (the bill that is supposed to guarantee returning vets dont pay for their college education). why would you vote down for an update of the GI bill? the old one is still run under 1950's dollars. meaning GI's are expected to get through college on few hundred dollars.

He wants to increase our veterans' benefits, but he also wants to strengthen our military. Even if this is true so what? buses need oil so kids can get to school, ambulances need gas so they can deliver sick people to hospital, people need oil so they can get to work, etc... Yeah, we have oil sands in Colorado. That's an environmental disaster. So is ANWR. Did you see the documentary about oil in this country on the Sundance channel. We're basically screwed. While we spend years trying to find oil, our other wells keep going down leaving us right where we are now. Algae's the ticket. Look it up on You Tube. It produces more fuel than sugar corn all of it. And it don't mess with our foor supply. It actually adds to it.

All this does is make the rich richer. We have got to get away from this dirty fuel source. George Bush is hiding those EPA reports for a reason. When it comes to the environment we're in serious trouble. These oil companies don't care about the people that have to live here after them. Pretty soon water will be 4 bucks a gallon.

You can't end foreign oil dependence. We only have 2.9% of of the worlds oil supply left in this country. By the time you get any oil out of those protected areas, our other wells will be that much lower putting us back to square one. Why should we drill in a national wild life refuge when it won't make a difference. If you knew the amount of environmental damage it causes you would see things different. And McCain voted against health care for our troops 4 years in a row. Look it up.

War does not mean profit Norman Angel disporved that long ago in his book, the great illusion. Saddam did everything to lose his sovereignty, he left the international community with no choice but to remove him. Bush did not make up the NIE, or any of the other information from the international intelligence community which suggested and proved Saddam had WMD's. Incidentally it turns out he did have them all along. Bush did what Clinton and Gore promised to do. Fact non verba!

I also heard McCain had an add waiting to air if Obama visited the troops. Basically they put Obama in a dammed if you do dammed if you don't position that only McCain think of. If Obama did the visit McCain would've said Obama was using our troops for political gain. John McCain is as low as they come. Money is all he cares about.

I dont know why the three canidates (McCain, Obama, and Hilton) are so focused on energy this week. The funniest thing is McCain is actually running as bad a campaign as possible to keep the polls statistically tied to keep Obama from getting momentum. McCain and the RNC are afraid if they destroy Obama now, the DNC will just nominate Hillary Clinton at the convention.

I would vote for McCain if not for the numerous gaffes and confusion about a whole host of issuses. I liked him in 2000, but he's changed alot. Once a man of principle, now he is a blatant pander-bear. He voted to send our young men and women into Iraq when they new full well that Sadaam was NOT an imminent threat. McCain even went on TV and said that the anthrax that scared us in 2001 was coming from Iraq. Now he's attacking Barack when he promised to run a campaign about the issues.
