Not to sound racist but alot of black gospel players share very similar styles especially in the 16th note roll around the snare to tom toms fashion. Ive been drumming for about 11 years and my cousin is a professional bass player who has played with many many famous gospel musicians, derico watson is one of them, a black drummer...Ibelieve he played with Victo Wooten.

@bandit0 These gospel players happen to listen to a lot of the same drummers from the Jazz scene but A VERY few sound different.

Cats like Calvin Rodgers,Chris Coleman,Dana Hawkins and Chris Dave are the few who stand out IMHO. and yes Derico has and still does play for Victor Wooten :)
