It's Venus. Download Stellarium, set the location to Kagoshima, set date and time to 04-20-2011 05:24:22, and look East. Venus, the "morning star," the second-brightest object in the sky. The object that the majority of UFO sightings turn out to really be.

1. It's definitely NOT Venus... It's way to large and way too bright to be Venus. Especially in daylight.
2. It isn't the moon either... It's too small to be the moon and also too bright. Although the moon IS visible during the day, it's never this bright.
3. I don't think it's Nibiru or Elenin either... it's still too far away from us to be seen this large in the sky. If it was, then it would still be visible now and growing larger as each day passes.
@MaskMarvl It's the full moon. It's often visible on these webcams. It looks small because of the camera, take a photo of the moon without a zoom and you'll see how small it appears. Also, in winter and Spring you can see Orion setting over the volcano on this webcam. It faces west. The video shows the full moon setting in the west as dawn lights up the volcano from behind the camera. (Check the date you'll see that full moon was on that day)

I did some research. This body you see is the almost full moon setting. Apr 20, 2011 -the moon was 96.4% illuminated. It set at 6:09 AM. If you look at the camera RIGHT NOW, July 11, 2011 @ 1155hrs, (July 12, 2011, 0055hrs Japan time) you can see the moon in the same position getting ready to set 0130hrs. The camera is facing west. Looking at Google sky on my cell, with Kagoshima as my location the moon is in the SW sky getting ready to set. Please do your homework.

Japan sunrise April 20 was 5:03 AM (varies slightly bylocation) and sunlight would strike mountain tops well before that. Video says the sun starts lighting the mountain top at 6:08 AM - way too late. The bird shifting around on the camera alters the exposure - it brightens and darkens a number of times while the bird is there. Sunset April 20 was 6:18 PM - which would have been right on the time stamp. We're looking at a sunset and a 12-hour (AM-PM) time stamp.
@ Vendettaslice I've got a picture of the sun that I took a few weeks ago. It had a giant rainbow ring around it and I captured these flying things. One up close. Very up close. I have NO IDEA what they are. There were lots of them.
If you watch from time 4:30 till 4:35 and pause between for every second you will see what appears to be 2 object that fly at extreme speeds from left to right behind the crows tail and over the Volcano! Thats only one of the times I had noticed them. They are all over the video, some fly and some just appear and disappear very quickly. I know sometimes the camera can do some crazy things to our view but thats up to you to deiced. I'm just basically pointing them out for all to view.
Another interesting one is from 4:40 to 4:43 going the same direction as the first two. I find it interesting that the volcano is becoming more active as these objects appear. @Zoe174 The full MOON is setting in the west at sunrise. (That's what it does. Basic Astronomy.) The sun is rising in the east behind the camera. The sun and the full moon are always opposite each other in the sky. Hope this helps?

The camera faces west, the moon was full around 20th April and was setting in the west at sunrise. It's the moon. Check with Stellarium if you don't believe me. I often watch the Sakurajima webcams, the 08 and 10 cams are both nightvision sensitive, therefore they show the moon as a very bright spot. Camera 08 is so sensitive that it will even show M42, the Orion nebula...

@Luckzzz Hi Luckzzz, Stellarium is open-source. Download it and check it with your own sky on the next clear night, you'll see that everything matches. Or compare it to other sites which show the night sky. You can check future full moons against the live webcam . Depending where you live on earth you can even work out the time difference between your home and Japan, so - for instance - you could see the moon set from your location and then watch it set in Japan, or vice-versa!
@Luckzzz Well, you'll need a PC for Stellarium and for watching the webcams. You don't need a telescope to compare the view on stellarium to that of your own sky because unless you zoom in on Stellarium the default setting is naked eye. You can change the settings so only the brightest stars show, if you live in a light polluted area. Stellarium is brilliant, you can download it for free, stellarium (dot) org

Second how where you zooming in while the bird was on the camara? and why didn't you shoo it way? third anyone can change the time stamp on a video, you could have taken the first part of the video at night after the eruption and then peaced it to the first part when it erupted, thirdly which way was the camara pointed west or east?

It's Venus. Download Stellarium, set the location to Kagoshima, set date and time to 04-20-2011 05:24:22, and look East. Venus, the "morning star," the second-brightest object in the sky. The object that the majority of UFO sightings turn out to really be.
Oh, and if anyone wants to claim that that's not Venus, then tell me, what the heck happened to Venus?

1. It's definitely NOT Venus... It's way to large and way too bright to be Venus. Especially in daylight.
2. It isn't the moon either... It's too small to be the moon and also too bright. Although the moon IS visible during the day, it's never this bright.
3. I don't think it's Nibiru or Elenin either... it's still too far away from us to be seen this large in the sky. If it was, then it would still be visible now and growing larger as each day passes.

@MaskMarvl It's the full moon. It's often visible on these webcams. It looks small because of the camera, take a photo of the moon without a zoom and you'll see how small it appears. Also, in winter and Spring you can see Orion setting over the volcano on this webcam. It faces west. The video shows the full moon setting in the west as dawn lights up the volcano from behind the camera. (Check the date you'll see that full moon was on that day)

@KSR469 two things point at it being am... #1 the scene fills with more sunlight as the time passes. by 6:08 the sun is lighting the area to the left of the scene. #2 the clock is set on a 24 hour cycle, hence the 0 before the hour. also known as o-six hundred. That's all... Could be Venus it is called the "morning star" for a reason.

I did some research. This body you see is the almost full moon setting. Apr 20, 2011 -the moon was 96.4% illuminated. It set at 6:09 AM. If you look at the camera RIGHT NOW, July 11, 2011 @ 1155hrs, (July 12, 2011, 0055hrs Japan time) you can see the moon in the same position getting ready to set 0130hrs. The camera is facing west. Looking at Google sky on my cell, with Kagoshima as my location the moon is in the SW sky getting ready to set. Please do your homework.

Japan sunrise April 20 was 5:03 AM (varies slightly bylocation) and sunlight would strike mountain tops well before that. Video says the sun starts lighting the mountain top at 6:08 AM - way too late. The bird shifting around on the camera alters the exposure - it brightens and darkens a number of times while the bird is there. Sunset April 20 was 6:18 PM - which would have been right on the time stamp. We're looking at a sunset and a 12-hour (AM-PM) time stamp.

If you watch from time 4:30 till 4:35 and pause between for every second you will see what appears to be 2 object that fly at extreme speeds from left to right behind the crows tail and over the Volcano! Thats only one of the times I had noticed them. They are all over the video, some fly and some just appear and disappear very quickly. I know sometimes the camera can do some crazy things to our view but thats up to you to deiced. I'm just basically pointing them out for all to view.

@Zoe174 The full MOON is setting in the west at sunrise. (That's what it does. Basic Astronomy.) The sun is rising in the east behind the camera. The sun and the full moon are always opposite each other in the sky. Hope this helps?

OK that was freaky...I saw something very similar here (Ireland) 21/12/10, at 7.45am, this thing is bright, almost silver in colour. What I saw wasn't the moon, nor a satellite, or a star. I was up to watch the eclipse, no view due to mountains......

@donegalderr That was Venus, apart from the moon it was the brightest thing in the south-east morning sky around Christmas last year. very bright, very silvery.

This is the moon. At 5AM on that day, the full moon was setting at that time. This isn't Nibiru, or ELENIN... >_<

@BrandonPvM Greetings, then why do I see the moon rising on Stellaruim on that day and time from the position of Japan. The Moon wasn't setting, it was rising, so that in this video isn't the moon. Please show me proof otherwise.

Are you sure you entered the correct details? It was a full moon that day/morning. Stellarium + a friend from Japan confirmed it to me.

The camera faces west, the moon was full around 20th April and was setting in the west at sunrise. It's the moon. Check with Stellarium if you don't believe me. I often watch the Sakurajima webcams, the 08 and 10 cams are both nightvision sensitive, therefore they show the moon as a very bright spot. Camera 08 is so sensitive that it will even show M42, the Orion nebula...

@Luckzzz Hi Luckzzz, Stellarium is open-source. Download it and check it with your own sky on the next clear night, you'll see that everything matches. Or compare it to other sites which show the night sky. You can check future full moons against the live webcam . Depending where you live on earth you can even work out the time difference between your home and Japan, so - for instance - you could see the moon set from your location and then watch it set in Japan, or vice-versa!

@Luckzzz Well, you'll need a PC for Stellarium and for watching the webcams. You don't need a telescope to compare the view on stellarium to that of your own sky because unless you zoom in on Stellarium the default setting is naked eye. You can change the settings so only the brightest stars show, if you live in a light polluted area. Stellarium is brilliant, you can download it for free, stellarium (dot) org

I call bullshit.. just a few questions.. Why did the bird hang around on the camara for over an hour? I've never seen a bird sit around for that long.. Second how where you zooming in while the bird was on the camara? and why didn't you shoo it way? third anyone can change the time stamp on a video, you could have taken the first part of the video at night after the eruption and then peaced it to the first part when it erupted, thirdly which way was the camara pointed west or east?
