  • i'm a slow player with next to no theory knowledge... i'd feel so out of place eventhough it seems like so much fun! maybe i should practice for next year ;-) any requirements? tips?! GIEF TIPS MR BAG OF GUITARDOUCHES!!!

  • @DennChooch ok, well, the requirements are that you're able to read tabulature and that you are willing to learn mostly about odd time stuff and weird modes.

It's also good if you have all the usual techniques (alternate picking, tapping, sweeping etc.) already down, because at the camp you'll mostly play music that is weird as opposed to getting exercises for e.g. developing a nice alternate picking technique etc. etc.

  • wish i could play like that :)

  • @christophersonawane absolutely, also, seeing him play like that in person is really something

  • How much does it cost?

  • @SpiritOfRadio1988 it's 670€ this year, have a look at the freatguitar link in the description, then click on "the camp" to get all the infos

  • Just applied for international week 2... Awesome vid, hope it's gonna be an awesome week too!

  • so great to went to the freak camp - i think freak kitchen is such an amazing metal band - \m/ i am sure you all learned a lot .. sweden seems pretty cool -rhsc nyc

  • i laughed my ass off in the end :D:D

  • Beats making wall hangings out of pine cones!

  • Looks so awesome.

I'm planning on going with a friend next year!

  • hahah Mathias is wering a t shirt form one Croatian band!!! awesome!!! ĐUBRIVO!!!

  • I wish they had something like that in Canada. Id be there in an instant.

  • @SeanyFens I think there's only one IA Eklundh. But there might be something similar in Canada, or close to Canade. I've at least seen an advertisement for a one week guitar clinic thing in Los Angeles, but really expensive unfortunately

  • Great video! It was lots of fun !

  • hahaha.. great video man! hope we can meet again on next Freak Guitar Camp! :)

  • @iNsaneTube would be cool, we'd need to manage to be on the same week then :-)

  • Looks like a lot of fun!

    I was there in 2006

Mattias is one hell of a guy!

  • @remyhansen nice, you've been there too, cool

  • @guitarDouchebaggery Yeah!

Did you check my Video of me playing with Freak kitchen " Porno Daddy?

You Can find it on my channel

  • wow, really nice, seems like a great way to spend a vacation

  • How much is the fee?

  • @Sphereal it's 6000 Swedish crowns or 800 US $/600 €/500 £

more info is on the freak kitchen website

  • just awesome!

  • brilliant! I wish I could go there

  • IA is so good it makes me hate him.But in a good way. I believe he has 3 testicles.

  • please upload more freak kitchen stuff!!!

  • @ValveReactor that was already the best stuff of the things that I've filmed

I wasn't filming all the time (there might be others uploading some more stuff, some brought a camera with a tripod and recorded it all, so there might be some other videos popping up)

  • Hallo, Georg !

Gruuuß nach Wien, und "keep on practicing, ya know it's only 4/4!" :-)

  • @tullipan2 cool, danke

ja, selbst The black page ist in 4/4 :O

  • Hey georg! Amazing! So happy for you abour your week at freak guitar camp, hope i can see you next year or 2012!

  • @buscobanda yes, would be cool, let me know if you're going

  • @guitarDouchebaggery Sure i will, hugs from Mexico

  • I keep practicing that intro, its easier then I thought but I still cant do it full speed! I loves Mattias! lol

  • You got to meet Mattias and Godin! Damn it hahahaha

Quick Question: Did you guys go over at all how to execute harmonics. I simply can not figure out how to mute! Any thing you can tell me would be a huge help! Thanks!

  • @zappainca maybe briefly in the very beginning (I was late... flight problems ;-)

The muting of the low E, A etc. is done by the thumb of the left hand

the top strings get muted by the left hand fingers somehow automatically when you do the flicking

  • Black page, nice lol. I am envious!

  • holy shit christopher godin was there :( i cried. i wish i was there fuck u :P

  • Loving the ending xD

  • @NowaqP thanks

it really sounds like a horror movie score in the classroom sometimes

  • Eklundh has tha same compensated fretwires of Steve Vai! It has always a perfect intonation!

  • @sedpluit yes, nicely spotted

I got to try his guitar and chords really sound nicer

chords on a regular guitar are quite in tune, but with the TT frets it's perfect

  • Comment removed

  • I love this vid'!! haha! =D

i've also met Christophe Godin at the Musical Academy International of Nancy!

it was a excellent experience!! =)

  • @sebguitarist yes! He's fantastic

he also stayed at the camp in the evening of the 2 days that he was there.

I also bought his Metal Cartoon album, really great stuff

  • Great video.. stuff like this is always great. It's inspiring, educational and it's a chance to meet lots of new and interesting players. I'm guessing you'll be wanting to go again next yr. ;)

  • @elevn7 yes, it's one of the better things to do when you're on vacation ;-)

I'm sure I'll be there again

so far I've been to that camp in '07 '08 and now 2010
