i'm a slow player with next to no theory knowledge... i'd feel so out of place eventhough it seems like so much fun! maybe i should practice for next year ;-) any requirements? tips?! GIEF TIPS MR BAG OF GUITARDOUCHES!!!
@DennChooch ok, well, the requirements are that you're able to read tabulature and that you are willing to learn mostly about odd time stuff and weird modes.
It's also good if you have all the usual techniques (alternate picking, tapping, sweeping etc.) already down, because at the camp you'll mostly play music that is weird as opposed to getting exercises for e.g. developing a nice alternate picking technique etc. etc.
so great to went to the freak camp - i think freak kitchen is such an amazing metal band - \m/ i am sure you all learned a lot .. sweden seems pretty cool -rhsc nyc
@SeanyFens I think there's only one IA Eklundh. But there might be something similar in Canada, or close to Canade. I've at least seen an advertisement for a one week guitar clinic thing in Los Angeles, but really expensive unfortunately
@ValveReactor that was already the best stuff of the things that I've filmed
I wasn't filming all the time (there might be others uploading some more stuff, some brought a camera with a tripod and recorded it all, so there might be some other videos popping up)
You got to meet Mattias and Godin! Damn it hahahaha
Quick Question: Did you guys go over at all how to execute harmonics. I simply can not figure out how to mute! Any thing you can tell me would be a huge help! Thanks!
Great video.. stuff like this is always great. It's inspiring, educational and it's a chance to meet lots of new and interesting players. I'm guessing you'll be wanting to go again next yr. ;)

zappainca 1 year ago
@zappainca maybe briefly in the very beginning (I was late... flight problems ;-)
The muting of the low E, A etc. is done by the thumb of the left hand
the top strings get muted by the left hand fingers somehow automatically when you do the flicking

Black page, nice lol. I am envious!

lol die Gitarre klingt wie ein Synth!
YogSothothOfGuitars 1 year ago
guitarDouchebaggery 1 year ago
@guitarDouchebaggery Das Ende ist echt goldig lol. Klingt nach Schönberg!
YogSothothOfGuitars 1 year ago
@guitarDouchebaggery - es ist ein sm57 um genau zu sein!
MediaMusicD 1 year ago
@MediaMusicD ^^ok, ich hab natürlich 57 gemeint ;-)

YogSothothOfGuitars 1 year ago
@YogSothothOfGuitars natürlich ist das eine echte gitarre
wer ist Herr Tutorial? ...moment, schon gefunden
oh mann ;-) schon klar, das sind videos von einem anderen Ufer ;-)

Eklundh has tha same compensated fretwires of Steve Vai! It has always a perfect intonation!
sedpluit 1 year ago
@sedpluit yes, nicely spotted
I got to try his guitar and chords really sound nicer
chords on a regular guitar are quite in tune, but with the TT frets it's perfect
