Most well known? Um... Shelby GT350/GT500? I'd say even the 1964 mustang coupe would be more well known (to normal people). Biggest and baddest? Boss 429? No?.. 428 Cobra Jet? No?.. Dare I mention Shelby again?

@Acesquadron 427 cobra jet? The 351 windsor actually had less power then the new 5.0L coyote. It was also an OHV engine and cast iron block. This new DOHC 5.0L has much more potential then the older technology. If they were going to do a 427 cobra jet or a 351 they would probably re-vamp the whole engine, or even modify this current 5.0L to those specs ie Bore and stroke.

@rolltideranger How the hell can a mustang out perform the M3? It doesn't even have a LSD, plus it's like a ton heavier and the weight distribution is no where near as good as the beamers. Plus the M3 is more refined, more comfortable . Mustang is an icon but no way can it beat the M3. American cars in general just aren't very good. The ones that are good are rebadged versions of cars from across the ocean. IE GTO's, G8, Challenger, GT (styled by brit, suspension by lotus, stuff like that)

Viper catches fire all the time because of side exhausts, and the corvette has a very harsh ride and isn't really the most reliable of all cars. Still no argument, both are pretty damn good, (If you're talking about a c6, z06, or zr1 type of corvette of course, others were no good for anything except for drag racing). Oh and btw, lambo engineers helped develop the viper motor, so yeah....

@BuffaloWarrior7 They Shelby GT500 doesn't get any special rear suspension so I'm going to take an educated guess and say no the boss will be fitted with the same live axle as the normal car. Perhaps with some stiffer springs to keep it under control.

If you are referring to the Shinoda Boss Mustang GT then that was an aftermarket car like a Saleen or a Roush or a Steeda it was not a Ford factory car.
