  • For some unknown reason, I completely forgot about this awesome song! This is a great song from New Order! Wow! How this song takes me back over 20 years ago! This track is one of my favorite by NO. Love this band!

  • Zo goed, zo intens, zo emotioneel , maakt je warm en koud tegelijkertijd, uniek !

  • bernard the best

  • Not heard this album since I stoopped listening to vinyl, forgot how much I used to love it.

  • I never imagined it would hit that hard...

  • wow takes me back! i felt like cutting my wrists and dipping my tongue into a dead dogs anus filled with tobasco after listening to this song

  • @batterycock :-)

  • @batterycock erm ok battery dont get carried away lol . superb music tho

  • A tumbling masterpiece.

  • an unexplainable feeling of melancholy, and hope too. Wondering what my future held

  • complete magic.

  • Staggering Talent..At one point their 'sub culture' sales were bigger than Pink Floyd et al............NO ONE HAS EVER DONE IT BETTER.

  • Oh wow this takes me back! This whole album puts a serious lump in my throat. I remember just sitting in my room, with the lights out, headphones on, immersed in it, an unexplainable feeling of melancholy, and hope too. Wondering what my future held. That was 20 years ago. Crazy!

  • @purplebikecafe my words exactly :)

  • best album by far

  • @sleezymany Gotta agree pal. I bought this the week it came out, in 1983. I have bought many albums since, some duds, some classics (Disintegration, anyone?) but PC+L and Never Mind The Bollocks are albums which I simply cannot imagine living without. I sometimes feel the same about great literature (Steinbeck, Marquez etc), but the crucial difference is that you can revisit a truly great album anytime, takes only one hour of yer time to re-experience that first-time feeling. No contest, sadly.

  • @liamevans true mate .still got this on vinyl somewhere. its just too wonderful to contemplate sometimes. just beautiful music

  • takes me back - I love this New Order song

  • omg, this sound kill me !

  • love it. this hits me in the heart

  • i suspect it's an ian curtis reference. conversations i've heard genesis p orridge talk about said that the music was destroying ian, that nothing was ever understood. i see this as last words to his wife before they were supposed to do the us tour.. these last few days leave me alone. i'm probably completely wrong, but it doesn't really matter. life is subjective, it's reflection, art, ought to be. power corruption and lies. factory records? tony? seems at the least ironic.

  • is there any truth/proof to this comment about it being John Peel's second favourite song?

  • strid61, how right you are. Will we be listening to this haunting song when we're in one of them old people's homes at age 85? No fucking doubt about it, mate! But I'll probably need a hearing aid by then from listening to my songs my way, so loud!

  • Oh yeaaaaahhhhh This is one of the best ever.

  • "But for these last few days, leave me alone." Bleak as fuck, I love it.

  • super album

  • How fucking good is this song, my god! Breathtaking, haunting, painful to listen to,...takes me back to a time long gone when I was so young and full of it real good and dandy, almost forgotten days, but not this song. All those pals and gals are gone now, so long days, but the song remains... today, tomorow and forever.

  • @BanditosYankees good taste mates never leave

  • @BanditosYankees - well put. I met a woman this weekend that had old new order and Catherine Wheel on her ipod and we dove head first together into our worlds when this song was new. It was a sweet and melancholy trip through our collective memories. Glad you share it

  • @davebinder7 - Good of you to share your thoughts. I'm sure the woman you met made the experience of the listen, the rewind, that much more vivid. Women have a marvelous way of doing that. Sweet and melancholy, to be sure. These songs are the album of our collective salad days, for the better.

  • wow..the best of new order

  • Brilliant!

  • It sends chills up your spine as you listen to it again and again. Genius! One of the best ever!

  • One of my Fave tracks of al time !

  • Génialissime. I love Barney's voice on this track.

  • John Peels's second fave after Teenage Kicks

  • is this a joy division song it sounds like it

    fantastic song

  • this is new order, ian was well dead.

  • It is not, or perhaps more specifically, it wasn't written by Ian Curtis. The lyrics were composed by Bernard Sumner. There are only two Joy Division tracks that weren't recorded by Joy Division but made the leap to New Order (if you weren't aware, New Order is the remnants of Joy Division, formed after Ian Curtis killed himself), "Ceremony" and "In a Lonely Place", both of which appeared as a single (In a Lonely Place was the b-side) before the release of the first New Order album, Movement.

  • Joy division became New Order, go figure!!!

  • I love this song so much.

  • One of my favorite songs, by ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS!!! "Leave me alone..."

  • Ahhhh, such a great song, a great album too!
