  • Kevin McAllister must have had one of those claws

  • @GlassTastesGood

i don't think many people would get your "Home Alone" reference.... lmao

  • man, you'd think these kids would stop saying "I wish".... these boys are so dumb :P

  • ¿Was there a food stain on the dad shirt¿ On 4:51

  • I wish they re -did this show but for like grown ups... but i guessed there is tales from the cypt

  • "your grandfathers dead.. you dont think-"

No he didnt think. Neither do you.

  • I remember watching this exact episode every halloween when i was a kid! Thank god for youtube they'd probably never play this again!

  • its spelled "bossdick"

  • this is actually really scary, like the grandpa part. that would scare the shit out of me

  • That's one hell of an episode

  • Notice that the tough guy Aka Kevin turned out to be the weenie eventually & the other kid was braver when it mattered :P thank you for uploading, all gratitude for you <3

  • AWESOME story!!!!!!

  • kevin's cute o:

  • He stole that story from W.W Jacobs short horror story the monkey's paw great story

  • @supersaiyan8thgate and that is a good story.

  • @supersaiyan8thgate Season 1, Episode 4: The Tale of the Twisted Claw

    Original Air Date—31 October 1991

In a twist of "The Monkey's Paw," two boys scare an old lady to death the night before Halloween just as the next night they receive a hand granting them wishes with consequences. <---- the summary from IMDB

  • @fallenangel11891 i guess they just ran out-of-ideaa i remember reading this story in elementary

  • @supersaiyan8thgate he sure did like we wouldnt remember

  • He stole that story from W.E Jacobs 1902 short horror story the monkey's paw great story

  • @coffeetea720 I just thought bout tht when he put the fire out hahaha

  • I've always been amused by how little water it takes to put out the fire at the end. Like, Gary could pour a teaspoon's worth of water on that shit, and it would go out in seconds.

  • @coffeetea720 lol

  • worst gold medal ever

  • who keeps ice cream in the fridge????? haha

  • I'm betting if this show had been made today it would've sucked. Everything would be watered down and made to appeal to ADHD-afflicted retards.

  • @DuracellEnergizer Who says that kind of thing???? "Retard" is a horrible/terrible thing to call people that have ADHD. You obviously don't know what it's like to have ADHD because if you did, by what you said, you'd be calling yourself a "retard". Be more considerate of other people. ANYBODY: Click 'LIKE' if you agree.

  • @Gleelover786221 I was using "ADHD" and "retard" as euphemisms for general idiots with short attention spans. But perhaps I was being insensitive to actual ADHD-sufferers. If so, I'm sorry.

  • @DuracellEnergizer People that have ADHD are not Retards. There are better ways to say what you are trying to say. It't not right that people use that word/term. Thanks for apologizing.

  • @DuracellEnergizer that was ignorant my brother is adhd and he makes straight A's in school

  • im not gonna lie, if i ever saw kids like that in the woods telling scary stories to each other, id mess with them all the time, haha im such a jerk =P

  • This episode was actually the pilot episode of "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" This story is also based on the classic story "The Monkey's Paw".

...By the way, they should've asked for 3 more wishes ;)

  • best show ever

  • @woo305tgthg4t5gh4t5r

This show is amazing and never gets old. I remember watching this as a kid; "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" was my favorite show on Nick back then-fun times :D The new shows on Nick are terrible...we'll probably never see shows like this again. They don't make shows like this anymore :( Nick needs to bring this show back!

  • @Tinkerbellshomey thet need the whole line-up back but i guess us seeing shows like this was a 90's bby advantage

  • @TheAmitehigh Yep. Love 90's.

  • no! i don't wanna meet no ghost! LOL =)

  • The last wish they made was actually two wishes ....

  • why dont they wish to reverse all the wishes

  • Really good episode. Thanks Cutesy!

  • I like how the kid's dad sees his friend under the chair and goes "hey kid" like nothing ever happened while the kid was scared out of his wits.

  • Yeah i just love how they say in the begining how he hasnt told a story in a long time when actually he told the last story.

  • @HelloSingFreak I believe this was originally going to be the first episode aired.

  • this episode is fucked up.

  • theres always a douchey little kid in these stories.

  • What a piece of shit of a story o.O

  • @plitas Shows what you know dumbass

  • @OGonawayWrestling Uuuuh, internet tough guy is tough...

  • Am I the only one who is totally confused as to why the cop would call an 11-year-old to tell him his parents were in a car accident and had to go to the hospital? Why wouldn't he tell him in person and take him to the hospital or to a relative's?

  • I wouldn't have written "Trick or Treat" on that card. I woudl have written, "Think again before you spray shaving cream in my face, you little asshats."

  • sooo, kevin in cute.

saying this in a total non-perverted way lol

  • I declare this meeting of the midnight society..a huge waste of time.

  • 3:47 keanu reeves moment, "whoahh.."

they both look like young bill and teds lol

  • "I wish you would just lose your folks!" .... What an asshole!

  • I don't think having a re-done version of an already popular story was a good idea for a pilot. Doing something like this could've made the show look bad. I dunno, I still think the "Laughing In The Dark" episode should've been the pilot.

  • @FallenGenerations115 "Tale of the Twisted Claw" was not the pilot, "The Tale of the Phantom Cab" was. "Laughing In The Dark" was episode number 2. This one was episode number 4.

  • @FallenGenerations115 Although, I'm Canadian, and it premiered about two years earlier here, so maybe the released the episodes in a different order in the states, I don't know.

  • @FallenGenerations115 it wasn't the pilot. tale of the phantom cab was.

  • Oh my god that sweater.

  • this is just like the monkey paw

  • I would beat the crap out of my so called friend for wishing I'd lose my folks! What the hell

  • The music still gets me sooo creepy

  • This show never gets old

  • This was just "The Monkey's Paw" retold!

  • the credit music at the end of the show is freaking epic. Love the music

  • its like wishing to have a huge penis and having a six foot one grow out of your head.

  • Has anyone ever known anyone named Bostick?

  • @The1JRsuperstar maybe its his last name???

  • @The1JRsuperstar Maybe its a last name? Anyway i felt sorry for him, he wasnt a bad kid. He even wished Kevin good luck.

  • @The1JRsuperstar Isn't there an actor named Devon Bostick? It's not his first name, though. It's quite a strange name, isn't it.

  • The ending with their parents kinda made my eyes water... I think this was not only a show to creep kids out but to teach them lessons.

  • kevin is HOT!!!

  • What bothers me alot is that when the story is over...no one gives any feedback! In most episodes the storyteller says "The end" and then that leader dude just bams in with "I declare this meeting of the midnight society closed!" Annoying as fuck! xD

  • LOL at how the kid hid under the table.

  • Canadian Children's Productions were the best!

  • I didn't see the big deal about wishing for his Grandpa to come, but then realized he's probably decomposing and zombie like.

BTW, nice set of wheels Gramps.

  • I miss being a kid, it was alot of fun in the 80's and 90's, shows like this will probably never be seen again

  • @gumstuckinmybraces it's not plagarism, the story was inspired by the monkeys paw is all. same idea but basically different plot.

  • Did you notice how they make a reference to the "monkey's paw" at the very start of this part, where he said he'd wish for a million bucks and take his chances. The same thing happens in the Monkey's Paw.

  • @GodOfWar221 Well not really, they wished for like 200 pounds in the actual story not a million dollars, i don't think that was actually a reference.

  • @jamielovesjesse Oh, my bad. Well its been a while since i've read the "Monkey's Paw" so the details in my memory are a little hazy. Its a good story nonetheless, thanks for the heads up.

  • @GodOfWar221 yup ^.^ love that story

  • snick was tite. well this and ren and stimpy, all that was lamo. but nothin beat Hey Dude

  • so fucking 90's

  • He killed your parents, that means you get to kill his.

  • The horror on this show is so neutered, way too damn many happy endings.

  • the phone creeps me out

  • Ice cream goes in the freezer, idiot.

  • That would have be scary seeing you dead decomposing grandfather standing on the front steps.

  • The old lady trolled them.

  • Haha gotta love the liitle guy's shirt :D

  • i love the shitty acting in this HAHHAHA he finds out his parents got in a crash and look at him

  • wow at the police officer over the phone lol, "I am sorry son but your parents have been in an accident that could be death" Nice way to break it to him lol

  • its funny how he only puts a little water on it and it all goes out right away at 7:00

  • this one is so funny/ the boys are fucking hilarious

  • @2:25, literally almost shit myself when I heard the song and the car starts driving up...the song is so other worldly. Scary as hell....

  • This is nearly exactly the same as the story it's based on. Though I must say it's still pretty good of a tale.

  • @bluedragonoz

They didn't have the internet back then.

  • Why didn't Dougie want to wish the ghost away?

  • @theconfusion105 Because he's a greedy little schmuck.

  • Oh, wow. Stupidity begets stupidity. Let's make wishes all willy nilly 'cause we're retarded preteens.

  • hahah id wish for a million bucks and take my chances.

  • "hi kid" lol

  • : )

  • he broke the phone why would he do tht

  • "I don't wanna meet no ghost!" LOL. Nice grammar

  • he ain't afraid of no ghost! da-da-da-da-da-da.... its not the same when typed. : /

  • @thewerecactus My son is entertaining himself with old Ghostbusters cartoons while I entertain myself with AYAOTD episodes!

  • i dont get the vase part in the end... lol

  • She knew it was them all along that caused her to break the vase. So she gave them the claw in order to teach them a lesson. LOL That's why she sent them the vase.

  • ohh ok, i thought thats wat it might mean, but like i would have thought they dint have to remind them XD i mean, the vase sending...was kinda over the top on her part in my opinion XD

  • mrs. clove's own twisted practical joke. she knew it was them from the very beginning.

  • @chidoriookami Because something bad happened with every wish even though they wished for the right thing to happen in the end. The vase was sort of like a "i got you" type thing from the witch lady.

  • Pretty fucked up how he loses his folks

  • MY FOLKS MY FOLKS!!

  • this is a good one

  • I haven't seen this episode in years, but I remember Miss Clove in this episode. She reminded me of Mrs. Roper.

  • haha dang that did remind me of the monkeys paw

  • that was the very inspiration

  • Haha; everyone was in awe at the end of the story.

  • so they each just got 1 wish??? no shit sherlock

  • @xfilesmanson ...no they each got two----dougie 1st-no trick or treat..2nd-grandpa

    kevin-1st-win race..2nd-lose folks

  • One of the coolest epis of AYAOTD

  • damn i want my own midnight society. just go into the woods with my boys and bun up. lol.

  • sounds gay. i'm in.

  • @shaq2099 Idiot

  • OMG the dead grandpa never makes it to the door, just like in The Monkey's Paw!

  • That kid ought to be kicked out of the Midnight Society for plagiarism... and the other kids too since they don't know their horrow literature.

  • Why do you say that?

  • fairly sure ever episode was plaguized from popular horror stories and fitted to kids tv

  • i like how in the beginning on this story the storyteller was like "it took me a while to put this story together, but i think i'm ready"

it took him THAT long to study the monkey's paw ? >_>

  • TWAT

  • A LOT of episodes of AYAOTD were inspired by other stories. Such as, Dr. Jekyll and Mister Hyde, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Watcher in the Woods, Word Processor of the Gods, and so in.

  • @sweetanomaly It's one thing to reuse a concept, since most horror does that. So does most science fiction, most fantasy, and most drama, for that matter. It's another thing to steal details right down to the exact same ending. The writers really should have called this one an adaptation.

  • Well, the plot of the story revolves around children retelling horror stories to each other. It's possible that the writers intended one of the characters to have red The Monkey's Paw and adapted it.

  • how messed up for a cop to just call a kid alone at home when his parents were in an accident...as if thats a way to break news..

  • for 1991, these kids are good actors! kevin was a cutie pie!

  • So, the two young boys in this episode aren't that bad of actors. That's a first for AYAOTD, hahaha.

I thought it was really creepy when the vase was on their doorstep and they read the note...

    :]]

  • i like the braces kid he's a prty good actor

  • i think he is hot to! :)

  • omg I was wondering what episode of this was the one where that creepy grandpa car pulled up...the dead..death..ghosts...unseen..nope can do without all that....love this show tho! :)

  • lol I bet the inspector on the phone was like

'that faggot just hung up on me'

    lol

  • lol WOW That lady creepy.............I thought it was funny where the kid was like..its a chunk of wood like your head...."I dont care if the claw jumps up and picks my nose ."lol this show brings back so many memories.

  • The blonde chick in the midnight soceity played cher on the clueless tv show i belive?and i think Bostic is the older bro from tale of the phantom cab a bit younger ? I wonder what they were smoking round the campfire total smoking circle remeber kids always pass to the left ! ! !

  • Was tucking your shirt in a 90s fad?

  • WHAT!!!!???!??!? thats just terrible! i cannot believe he wished his friend would loose his folks!!!

  • Yeah the Monkey Paw is the exact same thing it's a good movie

  • Is the fridge upstairs.

  • Theres a book based off of this

    right? The "Monkeys Paw"...

yea i remember readin it in the 9th grade,,,

  • gary's such a bob saget faggot!!lol

  • Is that the kid from Witches?

  • I remember this episode so vividly from when I was a kid. =D

  • Haha I love his reaction to his parents dying...XD he like didn't even care. At least they came back ha c: I miss this show so much, it was great.

  • this was a good episode. It was a parody of the short story "the Monkey's paw" which was much more... adult/scarier. and I agree about the blond girl

  • GOD the blonde girl of the Midnight Society was SO FUCKING HOT!!!!

  • This episode is scary!

  • could not pay me to let my child without an adult into the woods at midnight. silly people :-)

  • silly, they obviously snuck out, midnight society, a take off the dead poets society, and midnight and in the woods with a campfire, i mean me and 2 of my friends did that for a while...

  • And things were a little different back then. Not nearly as dangerous.

  • true, what's that about 10 years ago, not too long but still safer, crazy how fast things change

  • @XenosMovie haha..try 20..its 2010..so ten yrs ago would make it 2000

  • Since when did parents ring their own doorbell?? :P

    (awkward)

  • uhh were u not paying attention. or were u NOT paying attention? when they came in.. the mother clearly stated they "forgot their keys"... clue in?

  • man the 90's so totally rocked!! nickelodian was the best ;_;

  • yea yea born in 92

  • The Simpsons monkey's paw was better,lol
