We find ourselves slaves to a European-initiated cycle of problems that include an abundance of ignorance, poor education, low self-esteem, poverty, crime, gangs, dropouts, lack of Indigenous representation, and an inferiority complex of the worst kind: the self-hate of an entire people...
Look at our people buying blue-eyed contacts, dyeing their hair blond (and brown and red), bleaching their skin, to try to look like Europeans. How sad that they mask their Indigenous beauty. How ridiculous they look with their European masks and attitudes.
the way of his writing, everything is just perfect.. i had to read aura twice to understand it completely,it is such a complex novel,it attracts you so much that u cant stop reading it.. its a great novel without getting cheesy.. why do you ask?did u read it and if yes, did u like it?
@cineasta71 Aight then, Id like to read something from you, anyway Ive wrote that one year ago as u can see, so I have read much better ones than him, Im officially going to delete the comment above.
@bchick1987 I dont know if you can fully grasp what im saying. You can read carpentier, cortazar, asturias anyone from the latinoamerican boom that are far better in my opinion than the rest of fuentes work. I totally agreed that Aura is great. You said that youve read "much better ones" who are you refering to? Thanks for wanting to read something that ive wrote. Cheers to that mate!!!
@bchick1987 He's indeed brilliant as a writer and short story teller. Cortazar was a Jazz buff so you can start by reading " El perseguidor". A masterfull piece from structure, language and imagination. I only write screenplays that i shoot, meaning i dont write for other people to shoot them if you know what i mean.
@cineasta71 This man who is of European descent by both his parents, who by accident was born in Mexico, has proven all of his treason in most of the works that he has written but his book A NEW TIME FOR MEXICO documents his ingratitude and his treason to our people. That makes an emphasis on the positive of Spain and its culture and all of the negative of the Nican Tlaca of Mexico and Anahuac. This is the monster who suguested that Mexico should put a statue of Hernando Cortez in the Zocalo.
"Accident born in Mexico" You sound like you're Argentinian. Do you believe being European makes you better? I would rather been born in Hell then any of European trash. I am actually Chicano, from Mexican descent, born in the US. I don't go about thinking I am White/ or from European descent, I am from Mexican descent and proud, I am an American and Proud!
@defensafinancial No. The point is: CARLOS FUENTES everyone thinks that they are Mexican but in reality they are not Mexican: They are colonials of non-Mexican descent who are promoting the colonial agenda. You should see for your self what he did with his BURRIED MIRROR book and television series that makes an emphasis on the positive of Spain and its culture and all of the negative of indigenous people. Represents that racist-patronizing attitude of most criollos and Spaniards in Mexico"
I actually agree: Fuentes does represent the Criollo Mind, a long sought out but abandoned hope by most assumed Spanish-Mexicans. The Novellas and other pop culture in Mexico, promote this Criollo ideology, which in my judgement needs to be chased back to wherever it came from. Mexico most forge it's own unique identity, that of Indigenous and Spanish, or forever be in this constant struggle for identity.
I notice in your words you waste a lot of negative xenophobic. what that has to do to be descendants of European or Asian or even Australians?. maybe you are descendant of Montezuma and that's O.K but believe me it does not make you superior nor inferior to anyone you are equal to all. please DON'T let yourself be conspiranoic., Do not live in the past. now not only aztecs lives in mexico., is now a fusion of cultures and identities. and all are Mexicans agree or not.. be real.
@lubarri7 live in the past: ,well: This destruction of our history of over 4,300 years of civilization, along with the racial rape and cultural castration of our population, has left our people hopelessly chained to the interests that enrich Europeans...
