  • Ive recently joined an amateur company that is doing Beauty and The Beast! and I auditioned for Lefou (dream role) and I got him! The show isnt until June, but we started rehersals last sunday! Hahaha I'm so excited! :'3

  • i have just finished this show with my theatre company CODYS productions and i absolutely LOVE it and MISS it. We were given the rights to use the UK productions set and costumes. they are INCREDIBLE!! never have i seen OR WORN fantastic costumes in my theatre career so far. This is one of the best musicals i have ever seen/been in. also, Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud came to watch us on opening night to support us and her brother Clayton.

  • I just did this show with my theatre group and we used the set and costumes from this production. It was an amazing experience.

  • saw this back in 2008 in dublin's olympia theatre, i loved it

  • Holy Hoop Skirt!!!! Belle's ball gown is huge!

  • is saw this when it came to the Alhambra Theatre Bradford

  • voice good, but belle looks 55 years old.

  • @fountainchain126 how exactly would you have those costumes designed since ur the expert here on costume design? I saw this in the Olympia 2, twice actually and I thought the costumes made it.

  • God Lumiere's costume looks like a friggin child's halloween outfit and don't get me started on Mrs Potts - a community theatre budget type costume made from tin foil trimmings and bits of old Oklahoma costumes

I saw this version at the Olympia in Dublin and it was ghastly

  • haha thought this was the girl skateboards video

  • One word: KATIE!!! XD

  • LOVE IT!!! I love the costumes and the actors. Love the BEAST! AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • our schools doing this

  • i saw this last month 2 it was amazing loved every minute

  • the ttheatre company i am in are doing this next march cant wait its going to be fun

  • If you told me that was an amateur production I would have been ok. but for a professional production to have such awfully cheap costumes, set and props is terrible. The make up on Lefou is dreadful and Gaston is about 10st wet through!! The choreography is bad, how many times can a chorus wobble their heads? Belle looks like someones mum in a dress that is far too big! Totally agree with the Beasts prosthetic, at least you can see were the budget went!!

  • i agree 100%

  • Wow, a Beast that ACTUALLLY looks like a beast. awesome prosthetics. BWay's prosthetics simply didn't do it for me, though the show itself was EPIC.

  • i actually think in the Bway version, the costume people were looking for a different view at the story..the beast and all the enchanted objects were not actually transformed yet. they were almost there. they changed the story line abit so that they could get away with the objects being the actual size of people and so that the beast could have a more human like look.

but i agree..these prosthetics on the beast are amazingg =]

  • I prefer the decor in the dutch version

  • Saw it last night, was amazing

  • God, this looks like community theater.

  • doen't it though lol

  • I seen this....

Totally Amazing....But it looks very different from wen I saw it...the sets wer bigger and better and huge....I saw it at the Millenium Derry....second row.... :)

  • wow katieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

  • I remember seeing this about 3 years ago at the Orchard Theatre and I loved it, should be around again this year hopefully so i'll go and see it again.

  • my brother plays assistant md on this show (2nd keyboard) and i saw this yesterday, and it was amazing!

    love this show!

    xxx

  • woo for krj!

  • I saw this on tuesday night in dublin at the Olypia. As a former cast member I was impressed my only criticism is that gaston needed to gain about 150 lbs he looked so week and the beast was a little too comic. I was also a little disapionted with the reduced set but I guess the olympia is small anyway but cudos to Cammelle

  • Just wanted to add that the cast in this video is not the same as the one in Dublin. Well not all of it anyway. Ben Harlow was an amazing Gaston in Dublin and Belle was also incredible. Agree with your comments about the Beast though.

  • sorry 4 all the comments but does anyone know where or if u can get this on dvd, perhaps even the one in the olympia?

  • nope it was in the olympia!

  • i saw it last night in dublin, dunno he name but the onewho played bell was brilliant!

  • who is belle anyone going to see this in dublin

  • I am!! Cannot wait, but I'm surprised its the Olympia its coming to.. I thought maybe the Point or even the Gaeity..

  • me too were u sitting

  • Belle is Katie Rowley Jones who originated the role of Nessarose in the London cast of Wicked :D

  • Lol , it seems there is a link between wicked and B&B coz i have seen B&B in manchester with dianne pilkington in it and she played glinda in Wicked after being in this Lol!

  • Comment removed

  • The tour is amazing, i went to see it in April down it Torquay and i thought that Ben Stock was hilarious and Matthew Cammelle's if i can't love her was phenomonal. I'm really dissapointed cause i think it's ending soon, but still fantastic show

  • im going to see beauty and the beast in october in manchester. i got tickets for the second row :D

  • who is gaston played by

  • I didn't watch the video....I just watched Katie. She is awesome!!!!

  • Ah, Katie rocks <3

  • Ah, Katie rocks <3

  • i saw her in wicked last night :)

  • im hoping 2 see this at darlinton

  • this is a non equity tour, not the west end transfur uk tour.

  • thats not the uk tour!

  • this is def the uk tour!!! u have philip comley in there so there you go!

  • The Costumes And Makeup Look Cheaper... And The Cast Looks Smaller Too.

  • Im in Beauty and the Beast in Marlboro Players in Marlboro, New Jersey. Come see it, it is going to be amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Who did you play?

  • i was a towns person, and i even had my own name, shepherd boy

  • This is not a Disney Theatricals production. Disney sold the rights to UK Productions, which is a smaller budget company, which is why this is not the same as the other versions of BATB. Remember that London had the biggest version of Beauty and the Beast ever staged back in 1997 at the Dominion Theatre.

  • ... i saw this ... umm i was very disopoited with the panto look of the how, and the cheap costumes realy made the show crap. Sorry if people liked it, but i was waiting for years for this show to retern to england and when the tour came out ... i got tickets straight away... and they a year went by and i was so exsited un till i saw it and then .... it, was nothing like the london/ broadway show i saw when i was 7! Realy disopoited!

  • the costumes were better than the west end one's, it didn't look panto atall, if u watch the broadway one online it looks really dull, dark and almost gothic costumes.

  • I saw this one last year in Dartford, and thought it was really good. Everyone is just use to the original American one.

  • The cast I saw in June (from what I can tell of the cast in this footage) were much better. Not saying this cast was bad but the new cast is better.

To whoever was saying it isn't as good as broadways, how do you know it isn't? Also, what's wrong with a different set?

  • Don't like the Beast, Lefou, the costumes and too bad that the stage is a bit small. For the rest it looks ok

  • I meant just the same things

  • Actually fiyero06 If you loook at the videos of the last uk tour (posted by sowhatnamecanihave) It's just as good as broadway! The sets are the same! Some things in england are than in america

  • yea england can't dop disney or broadway from what i can tell

  • I saw this!

  • i saw this... and e our guest was crap... and so was "belle" he whole show was a let down and we paid 40 pound each! :(

  • This was the version I saw at The Kings's Theatre Glasgow!

  • katie rowley jones! I loved her in wicked! she really should have been cast as glinda!

  • saw this version of the show with katieand the original london production too. katie's amazing brill voice so glad it's put to use in wicked!!

  • yes it was mike - I have been lucky enough to work on this production on and off since it started in 2005 as part of the orchestra

  • Yeah it is him. i saw him at the mayflower southampton in this production

  • he plays gaston , so looks like im is itt???/

  • is one of the main characters in this video michael from the grease thing on tv it looks so like im is it? does anyone no?

  • The beast looks terrifying =O What an amazing costume!

  • Katie *breathes* Roweley *breathes* Jones...

  • ive seen this at the wimbledon theatre twice and the origanal once

  • This is the current (2006-2007) UK tour which is a very cheap version of the show in comparison to the original Disney staging.

  • i love this scenary much better tthan the old version!!!!the new tour is briliant!!!¬!!!!!!!!!!

    !

  • I prefer the Dutch version

  • I loved this show when I saw it on tour. The Disney one was better though.

  • where did you get this video?

  • I found it on yahoo videos on search.

  • wow, that was amazing! i've seen this version and it was spectacular. though i must say i do prefer the original broadway setting. please add more of these videos.
