Great comparison, I was thinking of buying a very small (about 32gb-64gb) ssd for the os and standard hdd for storage so hopefully the prices will drop a little before I buy it.
Dang, I can't wait for the SSD tech to advance so the prices can start dropping. It makes such a big difference. Especially in gaming vids you can record much smoother seeing as how the write speed is so much faster and you don't have to worry about your comp being able to save such high quality vids n such a lil amt of time.
if i buy this ssd 128gb could i transfer my win7 ultimate 64bit onto my ssd from my 500gb wd green and when i do will i be able to open up programs like you can faster?
Yes, Ideally it would be best to do a fresh install of Win7 on the SSD, along with your programs, and then use your 500 GB WD as Media storage..Music,Pics, Videos, Documents, Ect.
@xXAlphaRevanXx I've been a windows user all my life. Not only do I now wish I had a macbook, but macs are FASTER, BETTER, more ORGANIZED, and 100% virus/malware/trojan FREE and with the new OS X 5 out, it's better than ever!
@ShrapmaElite I've gotten a virus maybe 3-4 times in my life? Getting one is a result of sheer stupidity most of the time, and there's always virus protection. Viruses are designed for Windows usually, It's not as if OSX is any more secure.... It's just that more people use PC's, so it's obvious what the viruses will be designed for. I guarantee if OSX was the standard right now, Viruses would as common on it as they are for PC. Faster? Look at the price tag for a Mac
Interesting, but I agree that its not really a massive difference between them. And there is nothing wrong with macs, they have advantages compared to windows, plus the apple os is not always used for 'motherboardsorg' tests so there is no point groaning about it.
The biggest thing is the snappiness, and especially editing video..The write speeds KILL..HDD, so to us it is a huge difference. I totally agree right now SSD's are VERY expensive..but in a couple years they will come down drastically and will become much more common :)
It it what we use to edit video :) Also right now, we don't have a really good screen capture set up right now for windows, so it was easier to show it on the mac..We are in the process of setting up a windows capture...so you will see much more in the future.
We are not here to bash Mac or PC. If you can't be open minded, please take your comments elsewhere. They both serve their purpose..and work extremely well for what we need them for. :)

Any PC with a SATA 1 or 2 connection can accommodate and SSD drive, is simple to install and get going, and they are faster in Windows 7.
Thanks
