Very good question.Not that easy to answer.That kind of money is definately life changing.Of course I would buy the usual (cars,houses,super models) but I think the most valuable thing it would buy,would be Freedom! to do whatever,whenever I wanted.Not having to worry about money any longer is a blessing.

After that I'd still have 70 million- more than I'd ever know what to do with. I'd go get myself a hair transplant and an AR-15. Then I'd rebuild my 1979 pickup truck and tune up my GMC Yukon. I'd make sure my Mom, Dad, and Sister would never have to work again... after that, I don't know what else i'd do.

First off, i'd want my win to be anonymous. With the money i'd then pay off my debts. Other than that, i don't think i'd have much use with that much money since i'm a pretty simple person. Probably convert a large portion of it into something tangible like metals. Maybe buy some property close to the mountains somewhere and work on my farming skills. I'd love to own some horses. Would love to just get away from it all. In the end, its all about freedom

simplest question to answer, after taxes of the 140 mill, id put much of it in multinational accounts, try get a average 5% return. id use exactly 2 mill for immediate expenses, investment, and charity. the rest is just fixed income. id still work, try getting a principal position in a private equity or hedge, and work to become a billionare in the corporate world. eventually once i make over 3 billion adjusted for inflation ill be retired.

Yes several million is something, but nothing compared to several billion. In fact if you thought about would rather have a private jet or fly first class? which would be more convenient to a busy man trying to make his money keeps growing when not working. You need that billion to handle inflation, several million can easily be dilluted over a shoter period of time, whereas several billion takes much longer if spent correctly and wisely. So my kids kids kids kids can live off me.

oooh yeah for sure :) new drum kit of course yes hahaha. i would probably buy a couple. a gigging one and a studio one. probably a birch DW for gigging with zildjian A customs and then a maple ludwig with sabian hhx cymbals for the studio. buy some drum mics and some sound proofing equipment for the room and a mixer and guitars and all that jazz and open up my own recording company. it would be fantastic :)

I hope you know you wouldn't be able to do that. The gift tax is 45%. Say you won $10,000,000(after taxes), and you gave $5,000,000 to your brother. You would have to pay $2,250,000 in gift tax, leaving you with $2,750,000. But lets say you gave your brother $8,000,000. You would owe $3,600,000. You would only have $2,000,000. You would end up $1,600,000 in DEBT. You would be in the poor house.

Very true. The rule of thumb is - the PVAT (present value after taxes) of any lottery jackpot is 1/3 of the advertised amount - that is if you take the cash option, that's about half of the kackpot value - take off hald for taxes and you're left with 1/3 to 1/4.

No way. Unless you are already fabulously rich, absolutely nothing about your life would "stay the same" with that kind of money, whether you wanted it to or not. More often than not, being forced into the way of life such wealth REQUIRES makes winners miserable and lonely, and often they are broke within a few years because they don't know how to manage huge amounts of money.

I think I'd go crazy spending maybe 50 million on property and luxuries, then set up funds for each of the kids for when they reach 18. The rest I'd probably invest in various ways. It's a lot of money.

That amount of money would ruin your life--I'll feel sorry for the winner. I'd rather win just two or three million, enough so I'd never need a job again, and could spend all my time doing things I enjoy. The people who kill me are the ones who win a lot of money and KEEP GOING TO WORK.
