  • @Wes2251 Read the description, ASSWIPE! I said please excuse the shakiness of the camera, the mosquitoes were out in force. It's a SWAMP. You can hear them buzzing by the camera's mic. Not only that, but I also had to use my hands to use the call, while holding the camera. You know, most people are intelligent enough to look past the shaky video, and realise this is about interacting with wildlife and getting it on camera, even if it's not perfect. Jerk!

  • How hard is it to hold a camera half ass still?

  • @Wes2251 For some of us, very.

  • @respond2cowards Further proving you're full of crap, Louisiana's economy is doing well. Construction indicates growth, and recently Louisiana added more construction jobs than any other state. Business Week Magazine rated Lake Charles, Louisiana as the nations strongest construction market. Don't believe me? Google it. You're an ignorant jerk. Get off my thread and go stink up the internet somewhere else.

  • @respond2cowards Here's another example of something from Louisiana to knock your stupid, ignorant rant flat on it's ass. It's called Cajunbot. It's an automated vehicle developed at University of Louisiana at Lafayette, through a program of the Department of Defense. It was on a Discovery Channel TV special, and got other nationwide media attention as well. Not exactly uneducated, huh? I could go on...

  • @respond2cowards Here's another, Colonel Jefferson DeBlanc, USMC. A Marine fighter pilot in WW2, a Medal of Honor recipient, and a Louisiana Cajun. In 1943 over the Solomon Islands, DeBlanc's fighters were escorting American bombers under attack. Wounded, his plane leaking fuel, he stayed in the fight knowing he'd run out of fuel. Refusing to quit, he shot down five Japanese planes, making him an ace in a single mission. That's real COURAGE. Doesn't exactly fit your description of us.

  • @respond2cowards Ever hear of the Marine base, Camp Lejeune? It's named after Lt General John A. Lejeune, the 13th Commandant of the United States Marine Corps, and a native of Louisiana. It's a select few who have the honor of having a military base named after them. Doesn't exactly fit your ignorant description of our people here in Louisiana. But wait, there's more...

  • @respond2cowards I didn't admit shit you dumb sonofabitch except the fact that a bunch of liberals like you live there and ruin the state. Suck my dick like a greasy slut and I'll make you a turd sandwich.

  • @E5CAPEGOAT

You are the the type of people America is not proud of and doesn't rely on but who constantly think they are a part of Americas greatness. Go achieve something that goes beyond drinking beer underneath SUV posters, you redneck daddyfucker.

  • @respond2cowards THAT'S BECAUSE IT'S FULL OF FUCKING STUPID NIGGERS AND FAGGOT LIBERALS LIKE YOU. GO FUCK YOURSELF YOU STUPID PIECE OF HALF-BREED TRASH COMMIE BULLSHIT.

  • @respond2cowards What's your problem with coon ass conservatives you god damn nigger coon?

  • @E5CAPEGOAT

Whats your problem with just adressing people in a normal way, hillbilly wanker?

  • @respond2cowards I am a Cajun, or coonass conservative. So what? What does that have to do with my video? Do you have a beef with Cajun / coonass conservatives?

  • @respond2cowards You say that like it's a BAD thing to be a coonass conservative.

  • @holton2 Hey, if you like this one, there's more videos on my channel that I filmed at the same spot. You should check it out.

  • @holton2 Thanks! Glad you liked it.

  • Great video, mother nature at her best.

  • @minky103 Thank you so much! Those owls can be quite talkative sometimes. They're cool birds. Once I was out there just after sunset, watching one in a tree maybe 10 feet overhead. His eyes fixed on something, and all in one motion he leaned forward, spread his wings and glided down to a pond across the road, snatched up some small creature like a frog or crawfish in his talons, and flew off with his meal. The whole thing was absolutely silent except for a faint "splish" when he grabbed it.

  • @minky103 If you like this one, you should see my alligator video on my channel. The first part is filmed at the same place as this.

  • @trucha1618xx Thank you! It was fun. You should check out my new Alligators video on my channel. First part is from the same place as this, and the rest is from Avery Island, where Tabasco sauce is made. Leave a comment. Thanks again!

  • I like this video, it's amazing, you're lucky, it's great.

  • @yOurbrainisbrOken Thank you! Did you notice the sound of the mosquitoes buzzing by the camera's mic? They were hungry that evening! It's interesting that you mentioned calling turkeys. Even though the call I used imitates the barred owl, it's also used by turkey hunters to locate turkeys. It seems turkeys and owls don't get along, and when they hear an owl, they answer back as a "challenge". I guess they shout bird insults at each other! LOL! Those small owls you see are probably screech owls.

  • @donasu67 One evening I was bow hunting and everything was quiet. No breeze, no sound at all until I heard a loud crack up high somewhere in front of my stand , then a heavy THUMP on the ground. This was followed by a high squeal. Apparently a branch broke and fell on a rabbit. Just at that instant, I happened to spot a barred owl a bit above me in another tree to my right. His head SNAPPED around quick as a flash toward the sound, and he flew toward it in search of his meal. Nature at work.

  • Cool video. Ive got an owl story to share.

I was deer hunting in the early morning and the squirrels were starting to wake up and chatter. They were really getting after it until I heard an owl let it be know he was around. Buddy, they hushed and got the heck outa dodge!! Little chickens! Lol I couldn't help but sit up there and laugh at em. Gotta love the great outdoors!!

  • @1963TNT Thanks for the comment. I actually live in a small city of about 35,000 people, similar to the suburbs of a major city. I call it a "big small town". This was filmed just a few minutes drive out of town at the edge of the swamp. You should check out my "Louisiana Swamp Critters" video. It's from the same spot with more animals. Be sure to comment.

  • You"re so lucky to live where you do I live in a large city so I don't get to see nature the way you do.I trade this city for where you live anytime.

  • Good video,Owls are just plain cool and badass!

  • @1963TNT One evening I saw one out there on a low branch near me looking here and there and down at me once in a while, completely unconcerned that I was there. Then his head snapped around forward. His eyes locked in focus, he leaned forward and all in one motion launched himself from the branch and glided about five feet over me. The only sound was a faint "splish" when his talons grabbed his meal (something small, a frog, crawfish, etc.) in the pond across the road. That was COOL to watch!

  • @ridgerunner721601 If your volume is turned up high enough you can hear some of them buzzing by the camera's microphone. That's the same spot where I filmed the "Swamp Critters" video. Maybe the same owl in both videos. There's tons of them out there in that swamp, and tons of cottonmouth snakes too. The owls have plenty to eat. Right behind me is the canal where the two gators were. I imagine the owls probably snatch up a few baby gators from the nest sometimes too.

  • Unbelievable!!!! What were you two taking about???

  • @ChiefChrysler I was asking him how many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop. He tried to side step the question and change the subject. Owls don't like it when they don't know the answer. He said eventually he'd get back to me with an answer but I won't hold my breath.

  • @Stingray8854 Ha ha....he looked like he was replying every time. Also, I noticed in the cast there were lots of mosquitoes.....LOL. I'm hoping this cool weather we've been having will get rid of some of them here in the southwest corner of Louisiana.

  • Good call!

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE Thanks! Glad you liked it. I enjoy doing things like that. I'm an amateur at it for sure, but I guess the owl didn't care. You should check out my "Swamp Critters" video. There's some barred owls talking among themselves in a lively conversation, some good up close video of one before dawn one morning in the same area, and some pics of a few other interesting animals as well. I think you'll like it. Leave a comment. Have a good one!

  • @packersfan117 COOL! I never thought about someone getting some help with turkey hunting from this. I'm a deer hunter myself and never hunted turkeys, but I hear it's addictive. I just bought the call to "talk" with the owls because I just think they're cool birds. We have tons of barred owls in the swamps here in south Louisiana. The sound reminds me of being on my deer stand, bow in hand at dusk, waiting for that broadside shot...Love it! Good luck hunting that gobbler!

  • Thanks for the video, it helped me develop my Power Owl sound which led to me locating a monster Tom earlier this week.

  • Ok, 139 views as of now, what do you have to say about it? I'm not embarrassed to ask, I want comments!

  • So what do you think of it? Leave comments. Thanks for watching!
