  • I just wish you would explain a bit about PHP before you began

  • Hi, first of all thanks for your videos, they are very educative.

Could you have the chance to explain how to set up conTEXT to run php code?

you make so easy that I think this will be really apreciated for many of your followers. Thanks.

  • I did all of this, I opened it to my Web Browser (Google Chrome) and it was blank! Please help me.

  • LOL put on captions then Transcribe Audio google gets the words so messed up :P

  • You explained it better in just 7 minutes than my teacher did a whole semester.. THX!

  • You sound like mason from wizards of waverly place X3 anyways, starting to understand this...

  • @c0ncept I think you misunderstood the concept of Colleges and so called "professors". Think Business :) Colleges are there to torment you and take your MONEY and keep you busy with useless exercises and boring slide shows all day long. But, Alex is here to Teach you! just don't forget to donate and show love.

Here in Canada this course in College would cost you at least $9,000 with books. You get a diploma without the real know how. Then they outsource your job to Iindia kolkata :)

  • In this tut Alex talks about Functions :

1- How to declare 'em .

2- How to call 'em .

3- How to declare a function with arguments/inputs and How to call it .

  • @saadlulu

Some people are just very smart, i wonder when he started learning all of this! I am 23 and barely know anything in php! :>)

  • i still cant believe alex is 19

  • when i save it as a .php how do i access it. its says and unknown file. i have wamp server and the right notepad but just keeps happening. any help? thanks!

  • @quickvidtutorials Where did you save it?

  • on the destop, and tried my docs

  • @quickvidtutorials umm.. do you have a folder in C:\ called wampServer or wamp ? if yes then there is another folder inside it called htdocs, put it there and you will see it when you go to localhost in your browser..

  • yeah i have that and i put it in a folder like that but not htdocs. thanks heaps! i have uninstalled wampServer as it was not working. It was saying it couldn't find the local host, and i needed to download a server for windows or something

  • Try XAMPP, I currently use it and find it very simple

  • I wish you did Lua Tutorials :D but I do love your PHP Tuts.

  • Easy :P Thanks Alex

  • This is a great one! Really reminds me of modules in python. The question I have though... in python the "Variables" you define in the function have no effect globally. Is this the same for PHP? Like say $name was defined outside of the function than the functions is run would it change the value of $name outside of the function?

  • To answer my own question NO whatever variable you have within your function does not transfer outside of it! (unless maybe it's global which I have not gotten to in PHP yet hehe)

  • 0:30 - he says "camelCaps" for us Americans that can't understand somewhat heavy British. :D

These are great tuts - thank you Alex!!
