Murder has no place in the 21st century, yet it takes place by the dozens every day in the U.S. alone. As long as there are murders occurring(they will never stop), we the people reserve the right to the option of capital punishment.
there are a genocide in Iraq, childen and women been kill everyday, Human right did nothing for them. Stoping divert public attention by speaking of execution in Asia.
I understand that execution is something we don't want to happen - but in the United States, execution is used for those who have committed extremely major crimes such as murder. I am not sure of the other countries, but in America that is a form of punishment and is very rarely executed. Those who have created horror have to feel the horror they have caused on intention. Those are my opinions about the death penalty ONLY in the United States.
Also, these conscripted jurors will be forfeited basic legal rights of labor. If they meet sexual & power harassment in court made by judicial officer & the accused (these types of harassments are often happened in Japan courts), they cannot make a protest or claim damages by become a member of labor union.
In contrast to these risks, they will receive only $90 per day from government during a trial.
Japanese are now believed to be at imminent risk of violation of fundamental human rights.
The "lay judge law" (saiban-in-seido) has been enforced from May 21. District courts will randomly conscript Japanese into jurors and make them sentence judgment which including "Death Penalty" at atrocious criminal suit. This judgment will be made by jurors majority vote, not by unanimous vote. So minority opinions which assert innocent will be ignored and it will cause false charges.

Prove it. You think you know it all but just imagine what I'm saying came true. If no one has the right to take anyone's life, then the murderers deserve it.
I agree with what you say and would only like to add that taking someone;s life who has taken someone else's not only does not bring resolution but nurtures the culture of violence, it breeds and encourages more violence in a really vicious vicious circle. Maria
That's a myth. There's lots of research that suggests the death penalty is not a deterrent. The problem with the death penalty is that in some countries it is handed down arbitrarily. In some countries in the world being gay is a capital crime. How can you support that kind of punishment for "crimes" such as homosexuality?
I don't support the death penalty as a punishment for "crimes of homosexuality." I support it for the Ted Bundys, the Ed Geins, and the men and women of the world who molest and/or murder children. The death penalty may not prevent crimes, but you can't deny that it cuts down on recidivism rates.
I used to subscribe to that reasoning as well. My issue with state-sanctioned "murder" is that you trust the State to use that punishment fittingly. But while we can assume places like the USA wil not hand the penalty down arbitrarily, it is not the same for all countries. China & the Middle East lead statistics in capital punishment; capital crimes include apostasy, petty theft, & "endangering national security". In Iran minors can -- and have -- been put on death row. I can't support that.
i agree, not to mention innocent people who are given the death penalty without fair trial, or prisoners of conscience, etc...two wrongs don't make a right!
The death penalty should stay, since its the only form of true justice (besides lifelong torture). If she lost a relative, she would not preach to us like this.
Yeah, and not only that, but then WE get to support these people for the rest of their lives; paying their day-to-day expenses including: medical care, dental care, vision, and education. Some get degrees in prison, write books, and become wealthy. WTH?
As it is, we pay more for the criminal justice system than we pour into the school system for our children. That is a sad equation.

If you kill them you can't learn from their mistakes in order to prevent it in the future.
And if you executed the wrong guy, there is no way to ever make it right.
And by killing people you are not giving a good signal to the people,...
Authority should always try to solve problems non violent, in respect to the people, no matter what crime. That makes that the moral stays unharmed.
Revenge is not healing, forgiveness is...
Life sentence is probably needed,...

No matter how horrible? If you lost a relative, you'd disagree. If you take a life in cold blood, you lose your right to life.

No, what the government is doing is contradicting their own laws.
To not kill someone, yet they are doing what the very person has done, kill another human being.
It's like me trying to teach my kid to not smoke and I'm smoking, they won't take me seriously.

The Death Penalty needs to be abolished. It's not only inhuman but you're letting criminals get the easy way out of their crimes.
XaverianRosenrot 2 years ago 2
"Letting criminals get the easy way out of their crimes"
As opposed to lighter punishments that can encourage criminals to keep doing what they do because there really isn't a harsh sentence.
As opposed to having people whom have had crimes committed against them shoulder the burden of taking care of these criminals.
Yeah......I'm going to have to disagree with you.
