I don't believe EVH was in the studio with MJ...but nonetheless, it's a pretty awesome combination. All the guitar work except for EVH's solo was handled by Steve Lukather on "Beat It".If memory serves me correctly, Eddie played the solo either at home or Amigo Studios and the engineering was done by Donn Landee to give it that 'Van Halen' sound. I think Michael knew about Eddie through Eddie's then-wife, Valerie Bertinelli.
