Yeah, if that means they sing this song a lot I agree.
Lets call it a treasured national anthem (treasured because we have about 30 of them), and they can perform to the crowds.
I never get sick of thick of this one, but in 2 days from now (Anzac day) "The band played Waltzing Matilda" will give me a teary eye - nothing ever beats that.
Finally hearing the original band. I've seen the DAAS perform this & Tim & Neil did it at the Lyceum in Edinburgh. All great. Why can't they just release a DVD of the antipodean bands & buggar the rest of em?
It was abut a one night stand, but I really doubt anyone would bother talking like that to a hooker :-)
The guy in front of me was hugging the lady next to him (she was with her family and he, his), which I found funny because the song is explicitly about sex.
Worked for me though. Regardless of the story behind it, it stirs feelings of love.
I saw Mark Seymour perform this song (only this song - then he left) in the Fitzroy gardens by chance (I was jogging). This has been my favourite song since I was young when the lyrics rang true.
It's weird, on the news the next day they had tv-quality footage of this on the news.... yet it wasn't broadcast. Waiting for exclusive rights to a DVD or something? who knows... I just would love to see this song, along with a few others, in better quality.
Sound relief was broadcast live on MAX and Channel V on foxtel - not live to air. Apparently they have to sort out legality with all the artists before they can confirm DVD for sale.
This is the Australian version of the Pink Floyd reunion at live 8

Great to see H&C, but were they not shown on TV, no-ones posted any TV clips of them, but full Icehouse perfomance up, which is also great.

Both sound reliefs were broadcast live on MAX and channel V - not live to air. Apparently DVD is coming

Thanks for uploading this. Fabulous song. Great, if defunct, band.
But you may care to tell your mates who were singing harmonies at various stages to stick to their day jobs.

LOL. I can't speak for those around me, but I just couldn't resist belting this one out (and most of the other H&C songs).
