I have a question about vector imaging. I'm wanting to convert a bitmap image into a vector image such that I can send the design in to be laser engraved into something. Is this process you show here basically what I'm looking for?
I would like to know how you would know how many colors you would have to set it to so it would look like real picture when you converted it either with stacked checked or unchecked on the car?
very helpful! but you didn't explain what the "smooth" check box does. If i want a bitmap drawing to not look pixalated, and i want smooth lines, is that what you'd use it for?
If smooth is selected then a Gaussian Blur will be applied to the bitmap before it is traced. This will smooth the image but a loss of detail can occur. You may want to experiment with smooth enabled and disabled to determine which works better for your particular image.
Your tutorials are very professional & helpful in learning Inkscape. I have used many other CAD software programs, but every software has it's own learning curve. Your tutorials will just get me up & running faster. I appreciate it very much.
Very simple and easy to follow. Great video. Im looking forward to go to the next one and see what else i can learn, thanks

If you want better performance get some linux OS, cause your windows looks very slow. Nice tutorial by the way.

@lukassstyyy It's slow because he's doing a screen capture, obviously.

Great tutorial, nicely explained. Do the tutorials from a computer with greater RAM or graphics card, though. Have a good one!
