I have an elder jedi on chimera and i still have the saber animations from pre-nge and i still like them and i didnt like pre-cu i hated it it was just so awkward

This video was taken on TC in July 2005 when devs were adding (again) animations to Jedi during the combat upgrade, there were familiar moves that was in pre-CU and some new moves added, the CU animations were fun to watch and with its cooldown system you couldn't spam the same attack over and over hence you saw more variation in animations than pre-CU.

the truth being is that most players did the same attacks everytime it was boring if you ask me I still play SWG and the NGE has improved alot of these mistakes not saying that the NGE is great because pre-cu was better no matter what but combat lacked in pre-cu

This video was from one of the publishes shortly after the CU was released, there were no LS animations when CU went live and it sucked because the lightsaber would turn on then turn off between each attack. I was happy they put back the good ol Jedi animations plus a couple new ones at that time, NGE needs that shit back.

yeah the animations were clearly superior back then, another thing i missed was the ability to make pretty much any kind of jedi suit you wanted {so long as it had lots of slots}
