  • One word.... DUMB!

    LOL

  • At 0:13 you see the kid stuck inside the bottle... that's just the creepiest thing, scare the hell out of me as a kid.

  • I've never hit the acid or taken mushrooms. After this, I don't think I have to.

  • i think this just mindfucked me a little bit...

  • WTF?

  • Coolest commercial ever!

  • Not only was the commercial great, their orange soda was the best ever. When I went to the fridge, it was always a toss-up between Nesbitt's orange and grape Nehi.

  • I drank this recently and it was so good, the strawberry and peach one is good too.

  • Good old-fashioned Nightmare Fuel.

  • Does the jingle ever get stuck in your guys' heads for days?? Oi.

  • @HisMusicalLaine

Actually with that weird commercial, it's more like an acid-trip "flashback."

  • This is the BEST COMMERCIAL EVER MADE!! I remember it clearly from my youth! This is one of my Film Ephemera Holy Grails!

  • I liked Nesbitt's much better than Orange Crush.

  • @iammrmat They still make it! Some bottling company out of Texas bought the brand and is producing it. If your hard up for it you can find it at some Bevmos

  • Wow... I haven't seen this commercial for over 30 years! I used to drink this when I was a kid, but I remember they also had a grape flavored soda. I guess you can't get this east of the Mississippi river though. I was in Missouri then, Ohio now... People here have never heard of it. "Nesbitt's Orange... Soda... >Pop!< Dumb...!"

  • WTF!!! LOL

  • @TheNesbitt100 hehe I actually drank the lemonade

  • This is my favorite commercial of all time!

  • Interesting commercial.

I just tried this soda weeks ago and it is awesome tasting

  • I wonder if there is any place online where you can find the Nesbitt's Orange radio commercials, especially the one where the grouchy boss is auditioning musicians for a radio spot where the final auditor is "a box of five thousand singing fleas". Hilarious!

  • Our family was on vacation one summer and my brothers and I were singing various commercial jingles in the back seat to pass the time. We were right in the middle of our rendition of "Nesbitt's orange soda pop...wonderfully orangey orangely good..." when out of nowhere a car smashed into us on a very rural highway. We were still "singing" the Nesbitt's jingle as we waited for the tow truck.

  • I've actually seen this being sold at a place called Cost Plus World Market. Not sure if it's the original or someone bought the name.

  • They are making it as close as possible to the original recipe, NO HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP!!

  • one of my most favorite commercials, ever! The product disappeared, but this commercial stayed burned onto my brain for years! now that you've posted it on youtube, I think WOW! Very trippy, and very crumb-esque! I don't think Robert Crumb would have made this commercial. he's like me in thinking that corporations and commercials that hawk their products are evil! or maybe not, I dunno! This is a very cool commercial though! where in the world did you find it?

  • Another LSD experiment gone a rye. This used to frighten me as a small child.

  • @drunksingsheep

It's the thing at 0:13 when the kid gets sucked into the bottle and you can see him sitting in there bottled up, smiling..... CREE-PY!!!

  • Crumb stuff I think or hes bein ripped off!

  • loks like ketchup

  • loved this commercial back in the 70's.. found a retro store on the oregon coast today that sold nesbitts orange.. talk about a blast from the past!

  • Wow! I have had an old cassette audio recording of this commercial when I saw it on TV but had no way to record the video back then. I always thought it was such a cool commercial and enjoyed drinking the soda, and finding this video brings back the memories. Thanks for posting it!

  • I love this ad, and I really miss the product. Thanks for the memories!

  • omg thats so werid my last name is nesbitt and i was looking for ma sister and i found this! lol ! I'm gonna try find som nw cyah ^_^

  • this was one of my favorite commercials when I was a kid! I was amazed when I first saw it on here! where did you find it? does anyone know if they still make nesbitt's orange? at the very least I wouldn't mind collecting one of their old bottles. thank you for this colorful piece of commercial nostalgia! It does look a lot like art from zap comix. did they have anything to do with it? thanks again!

  • This was my family's favorite commercial in the 70s. It got us to drink Nesbitt's wonderful Orange Soda Pop (when we could find it!) They had cool looking glass bottles, too.

  • Wow!Haven't seen this in decades. A "Peter Max" type mind trip in 58 seconds. Ranks up there with the 7Up uncola butterfly lady commercial. Psychodelic Nostalgia!

  • I remember this ad very, very well, my friends and I used to sing it a lot! Now I can tell the younger non-believers to just check here for the proof! Thanks for making my day!

  • Growing up in the 70s was the best!! such a simple, fun time

  • we had the coolest commercials when i was a kid. the 70's rocked. : )

  • WTF?! R. Crumb?

  • Um, no. If it were R. Crumb it would be filled with thick thighed chicks with bangs and braids with one floppy breast mysteriously dangling outside of their dress - not to mention the obligatory fish-eye-lensed view of people walking looking up at them from the sidewalk. In other words, Crumb is cool and so is this.

  • '50s-style commerical in the '70s.

  • Zap Comix

  • I half thought I'd only ever dreamed this commercial. Thanks.

  • Reminds me of the immortal Max Fleischer cartoons...

  • The animation was good, but the commercial itself was so annoying!

  • I love this ad! What's really weird is the videos that are linked at the end is an episode of the Goodies!

  • So coool! Agreed ....30 years or more......thanks, good job!!!!

  • I've had that jingle stuck in my head since I was a kid, and was hoping it would turn up here. Hopefully more will turn up. They gotta be out there.

  • Great! Totally amazing!

  • I have been looking for this for years-thanks

  • Nesbitt's Orange Soda is a Southern state based soft drink, are they made by the same company that makes Frostie Root Beer (If only there was a vintage 1970's Frostie Root Beer TV commercial posted on YouTube if someone finds and uploads it!)

Some of the background music in this commercial sounds like the rhythm used for the HBO Family preschool children's series "A Little Curious".

  • Hahahahahahahaha!

  • Wow! I haen't seen that in over 30 years! Thanks!
