TheOzzy456 you really are a prize prat. The brilliant thing about Whit Friday for the bands and spectators is the variety of bands from youth to Championship to scratch bands. Maybe at your level and your superor band you're not aware of the real decline in brass bands. But its a real problem. How boring would it be for the whole night on Whit Friday to just watch the 'Higher section' bands play the same old marches again and again.
The big problem some of you may not have noticed is that brass bands are sadly in decline and largley because of its old fashioned image and out of date music, this is something that will help break that barrier, come on guys if you are so stuck in a timewarp and think this is bad thing to do then obviously not thinking of the future - we need to promote brass bands in a new way update our music and make it enjoyable for all ages, good on you RNC keep it up heres to 2011 whit friday performance
@TheOzzy456 They're not THAT bad, jesus christ. Have you heard their sop player? They're blatantly just having a laugh. After all, they are students...
I dont believe this band go out under the name of the Royal Northern College of Music, its just over the years everybody has realised who they are. It is entertainment, and the fact that this band were doing it for 'fun' shouldn't really matter. By the way, if your in a 'successful band' please explain to me when the 17th section was founded. These students are probably some of the best music students in the UK, and could walk into the majority of bands!
