i think it would be much more beneficial of supply the rebels with tanks and other heavy weaponry but no air defense or aircrafts. have the rebels trained and eventually they will beat Gaddafi. i think it would be much more beneficial of supply the rebels with tanks and other heavy weaponry but no air defense or aircrafts. have the rebels trained and eventually they will beat Gaddafi. Nato may have provided the rebels with air support though the main thing nato did is providing Libyan national support to the forces that want to keep the independence and integrity of the country and the oil treasure that is hidden below it.

Bahrain is free to kill protesters (who are not armed rebels or islamists) and nothing happens to them because they're a US ally. Nor does Qatar's Alajazeera cover it since Qatar is part of the GCC that has send troops into Bahrain.

I hope people realise that the ONLY reason western nations and NATO is interested is for the oil and for the oil to be traded in US dollars.
There are SO many conflicts world wide, many of which the media do not comment but Libya is special because of its oil.

@TheBrotherOfSisters he won't be allowed to win as it'd make NATO look like absolute fools. Similar in a sense to the Kosovo war. They would've probably invaded if Milosevic didnt surrender. NATO is now invested in this conflict. The minimum outcome for Gaddafi to stay in power would be the country split in half, the worst case scenario being that foreign invasion force intervenes and deposes Gaddafi. As much as I hate Gaddafi and his criminal regime, a foreign invasion would be a disaster.

@georgebirley89 Ivory Coast was in the news but it was the same two opposing forces one supported by election and world and one trying to keep hold of power. you can have only one leader .Libya is a done deal and the Libyan goverment will change . they can not hide their artillery in the city from Nato planes for long numbers and logistics i bet falls in the rebels favor they will make up for their weakness .Haboobs suck you cant see crap

Only the smell of oil prevented those foreign nations to do the same thing in Tunesia and Egypt while the revolutions in Bahrain and Yemen are buried under media silence.

Lockerby was pushed on Libya's back though there was no evidence to do so. Nevertheless US bombed Libya in 1986 as an unjustified revenge. Weak attempt to justify this war again for the same thing.
Not so on Tunesian or Egyptian revolution but from the start of Libyan revolution media are focusing on regimes who are considered as unfriendly while still continuing revolutions in Bahrain, Yemen are silenced.

Gaddafi was supplying France and the rest of Europe with dirt cheap oil. The reason the US got involved was PR. NATO and it's partners would look like trash (more so than they do) if they stood by as another Bosnia or Rwanda happened.
Unfortunately, Americans and enemies of the US (many of them) are so hypersensitive and oblivious to history and past US-Qaddafi relations, that they make comments like yours. Libya is unique- and if you can't see that, you're blind.
