Apparently the reporter didn't have a clue who Axl was. He was sent over to do the interview, but wasn't up on the Guns N' Roses band - just from what he was told. When he was asked "Why didn't you ask him about the band" - he stated he just heard of Axl Rose 2 minutes before he interviewed him.
@BigBara He's never had eyebrows or eyelashes (at least not thick ones). He's pretty much a ginger/redhead. During Guns n Roses heyday, he was constantly dying his hair and wore lots of eye makeup so his non-existent brows and lashes weren't as noticeable. Also, if you look near his ears, you'll see that he lacks sideburns. Even guys who keep their burns trim will have definition there but Axl doesn't. I say he's had a face-lift or two, which could also make him look "odd".
Axl is one of the greatest frontmen of all time & its sweet that he has such shy, unassuming moments. :)
people interested in knowing about Axl should listen to his 2006 interview with Eddie Trunk. In typical Axl fashion, it wasnt a scheduled interview. he just came down to the radio station after Sebastian Baz called him. it was a great conversation & it showed Axl as the funny, lovable guy he really is.

In my opinion, my favourite time of Axl Rose was 88' , remember him at The Ritz? Absolutely amazing.
Still, he is so cute here, and noone should forget, even if he changes his looks, he'll always be Axl Rose. People shouldn't like him for his looks.

I'm guessing this is what happened. One of the guys that does the tv channel editing is not a GNR fan, so he just assumes that its spelt like axel. But another guy that sits right across from him who is a GNR fan is to focused on the tv to notice him typing it in. Then he sees it and is like WTF are you doing man?" Punches him in the face, pushes him out of the chair, and fixes it the next time it comes up. LOL

That was one of the strangest TV interviews I've ever seen. Axl looks weird, the TV dude is even more weird. But I did get a chuckle out of seeing Lakers coach Phil Jackson walk by in the background. Good stuff.
