I was wondering, is King K. Rool and Captain K. Rool (the boss here) the same alligator boss where he died on the first game as a king but, somehow came back to life here on this game where he chose to be a pirate captain? (It's strange that if he came back to life once he died on the first game). Or, are they both two different alligators who are related (either father and son, brothers, uncle and nephew etc.) where one is a king and the other is a pirate captain?
@afriendofbean I don't think he died in the first part. After all, Mario defeats Bowser many times and Bowser never dies (except in New Super Mario Bros DS), so I doubt K Rool ever dies, no matter how many times DK will beat him.
That's a very good point. I guess it's also the same on the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" games where the Ninja Turtles defeat Shredder on part 1 and they defeat Shredder again on part 2. Somehow, I just felt that King K. Rool and Captain K. Rool were two different related alligators with the same last name since one is a king and the other is a pirate captain. I guess on all three parts of the game, the alligator chooses to be a different profession to try to be more powerful.
@afriendofbean He is the very same alligator of DKC and DK2 and DK3, but he is a master of disguise the final boss King K.Rool in the sequel he chose to become a Kaptain Pirate take a look at the first world in DKC2 is the last world where the final battle against King K. Rook took place in DKC1 even you can see DKC1 Island in the background of the map
Yes, I just saw the first world in DKC2 and I just saw the island from DCK1. Thank you. I remember that King/Kaptain K. Rool decided to be a scientist on DKC3 where his name was K.R. Roolstein.
@afriendofbean It is a pity that K.Rool is not the main enemy in Donkey Kong Country Returns it is a very good game but I still think DKC2 is still the best of the Country series (at least DKC2 has the best OST of all)
I agree. DKC2 is a great game. I guess the reason why K. Rool is not the main enemy on Donkey Kong Country Returns is because, he is probably too scared to fight Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, and Kiddie Kong after he lost the fight against Dixie and Kiddie Kong on DKC3. (K. Rool probably feels that Donkey, Diddy, Dixie, and Kiddie are too strong for him no matter how powerful his weapons are).
Man something about K rool reminds me of Bowser. Bowser-King Of Koopas. K.Rool-King Of Kremlins. Plus there both huge and build air ships and stuff. Mario would be donkey kong in this game with luigis mansion cause like Mario was captured lol. Its related a little. K.Rool for the next Smash Bros if there is gonna be one!! Lols.
This guy was crazily difficult. Took me a good hour to actually beat him for the first time, my god I was so foul tempered to everybody in the house during that hour. =)
I agree. He was very difficult and it took me 2 hours to beat him. Every time he kept falling on the floor, I would think he was finally dead and then whenever he got up off the floor I would say "oh no not again, when will he die?" Then from 3:58-4:04, I would say with fear once he fell on the floor and got up, "how many times do I have to keep hitting and/or blowing him up with cannon balls?" but, once Donkey Kong punched him away I would say "I think it's over, and he's finally dead."
I'd also say its the toughest of the series but he isnt unbeatable if your not that bad youll beat him 1. or second time and you also get a DK barrel twice in this fight =)

I love K.Rool. In the original trilogy, he uses different tactics to try to beat the Kongs. His Kaptain self was the toughest.

I've always pictured K. Rool's "true" form as a pirate who just styles himself King...but I know canon is against me.
