This is it!!! I am still hoping that some cute girl will cover this lovely and funny song for the german song contest called DSDS - my vote would be sure... In my opinion more radio stations should play this song every day and night - `cause the lyrics are so sweet and handsome... love this!
This is my favorite version of Belgian Waffles! OMG this was so great to dance to. STill is. I also have Anne Clarks Sleeper in Metropolis...but hard to say which predates the other.
It's really difficult to judge this cut outside of the context in which it was made. If you weren't around the repressive environment of the '80's, then it just seems like a bunch of potty-mouthed nonsense. If you understood what was going on in the various art scenes and how that got mashed up with industrial/electronic music, then you'd get the point. It's nostalgic for those of us who were around at the time, but I have to say it didn't age particularly well. Still fun, nonetheless.
i got a "special" version from this on an old tape from the 80ies - it´s "infomation society - running" mixed with the sample from this and samples from "kraftwerk - the robots" - does anybody know what the name of this special remix is???? i am searching for it since about 20 years *ggg* - can anyone help me???
Karen came to a college in St. Louis to do a long, long boring ass poetry reading. I could'nt even stay awake. She was actually reading the poems off paper she sucked! I was expecting to see her sing Lick it and Tales of Taboo. Anything was better than what she did. BORING! No wonder you never hear about her anymore.
I remember when I 1st bought this album and the 12" at the same time from grammaphone records cause I heard it on 88.7 college station in chicago when I was like 16....and I still know all the lyrics. My parents even liked her.
Finley's work dealt with many difficult and usually aggressive themes. This one, in particular, still sounds as transgressive as ever as we are not accustomed to hearing female voices describing such sexual violence. Finley would have made the Marquis de Sade very proud.

this song is boring, just another person trying to get attention by crude lyrics.. i ddint like it in the past ,and i think i dont like even more now, boring.
this song is so vulgar but I can't help but love it! I was in Antwerp last Christmas and just had to go out for Belgium waffles and Belgium beer in honor of this song.
There is a looooooooong version of this with a really long instrumental intro. I have it on cassette but have not found a version on the net over the past 15 years. Would love to find it.
First time I heard this song was in a dance club in Toronto back in the late 80's.. it was so shocking back then.. it still kinda is. I love this song
One of our favourites of all time. Thank you for upping this. Truly amazing it's here. We got a warning and video removed for showing a millisecond Little Nells Nipple.
I bought her CD Fear of Living back in 97 which featured several recorded live performances and remixes of Tales of Taboo from Junior Vasquez and Johnny Vicious and Bill Coleman....a must own.
I used to dance to this at the closing every night at a punk club in Ft Lauderdale........love her...I still have the vinyl....glad they have it on youtube (thought they would have censored it out)
God I love Belgian Waffles!
