I've always loved both Keaton and Chaplin. It's interesting to hear what their voices sounded like. I'm in awe at how deep Buster's is! Every time I watch one of his movies and watch this short lithe little man I think of his voice and it makes it that much more funny for me.
@daveholm: Whatever Buster Keaton did, he did to perfection! (Even singing lol.) I swear, if you put up a video of Buster brushing his teeth, I would be thoroughly entertained by it!
I wish they could've shown all the footage of Buster singing, especially at the end of "Casey Jones" 'cause you can just hear him grinning and laughing! I just love him! And what an entertaining little musician he is! :D
When I die and meet him on the other side, I'm going to give him the greatest hug ever!!!
Buster was just so unbelievably talented. He could me me laugh till my sides hurt and made me feel sorry for him too =) Lol That was really nice singing, lovely lovely buster always an entertainer
aw, I really liked it! gosh, there won't ever be another man like buster keaton. he was truly talented in everything he did and he continues to make people laugh every day!! <3 miss the man
He was such a sweet soul & in some ways a child & at the same time incredibly brilliant as a comedian/actot/athlete & stuntman/filmaker & director. There will NEVER be another Buster!
I think, he wasn't underrated, he was successful at his time and then the times are changin', but in his case it was a matter of, and still it is, of having that special look, you know, if you're able to look at him with your heart you can see Keaton's great art, his gift to create the pure happiness and the laughing with tears from the bottom of your heart.
Well said. But in that era wasn't Keaton considered #3 behind the other two silent comedians like Chaplin & Lloyd? I think it may be due to that Buster wasn't comfortable with people & didn't really promote himself. He was a very private person. He certainly didn't have a business sense & trusted people that he probably shouldn't have. He didn't take a lot of credit as certainly Chaplin did. He just wanted to make films & make people laugh.
Awsome! one of the most underrated talants of the century, an amazing man that could make you smile and cry at the same time. Thank you so much for posting.
My grandfather used to play 'Casey Jones' to us as kids on his ukulele and my grandmother would play violin right along. This brought back memories I forgot I had.
I noticed someone mentioned Ukulele Ike (Cliff Edwards) who appeared as the bellhop in "Parlor, Bedroom and Bath" with Buster.
Cliff was best known as the voice of Jiminy Cricket in "Pinocchio", he won an academy award for his recording of "When You Wish Upon A Star" in 1941. Thank you so much for sharing this clip of Buster. It's wonderful.
I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please check out my clip of silent movie star tobacco cards. They include: Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, Rudolph Valentino, Mary Pickford, Lillian Gish, Tom Mix, Jackie Coogan, Harold Lloyd and many more.
Buster was considered by none other than Cliff Edwards a.k.a. Ukulele Ike - to be one of the finest on ukulele. Nice to see him fooling around with it.

It'd be nice to see the whole Canadian documentary sometime. I don't think it's possible for us in the US to see other than through YouTube.

yeah, but "underrated" isn't the right word.

This was great to see. Buster is the best.
