This brings out the best of both worlds for both Ponies and Outlaw Star, the latter being one of those anime that I found by myself and instantly loved. Perfect editing and syncing of the animation to the theme song. Excellent choice of character replacement for the Outlaw Star cast, both hero and villain types. Pinkie and Aisha the energetic type, Rarity and Suzuka the beautiful ladies, with Fluttershy and Melfina the gentle innocents of the teams. Could've have pulled this off any better. A+++

While I can't claim to have grown up watching Outlaw Star, (or have seen anything about it; in fact, the place I first heard about it was Kyle Pop's Edit Lists on Anime News Network, and it was there that I learned it aired on Toonami a while back), this was very, VERY impressive. I looked up the opening, actually, specifically to compare it to this, and from what I could tell, totally spot on. Kudos. Also, I really like the credits; they look so official. What font did you use?

Yeah, the animation quality (of Outlaw Star) may not be all that great even by 1997 standards, but I think it's highly underrated; it easily makes my top five fave anime series. Sort of a shame that it was never even as popular in Japan as it was here; although for some strange fan-rage-inducing reason, in the proposed second series, the XGP-15a-II would have been REPLACED as Gene's ship! Blasphemy!
