gt4094 must hit at 5000-5200 rpm witch needs 9000 or 10,000 worth of rev and at least 25 psi of boost the bmw just hits boost faster and is a better setup.
The DSM needs more boost & race gas. That GT4094r isnt even close to where it needs to be at 23psi. The DSM also needs a driver mod from the looks of it. Brake boost FTW!!

You're an idiot. DSM is Diamond Star Motors, a joint venture between Mitsu and Chrysler in the 90's that they did not continue during the 3g eclipse. Thats why a GVR4 and Starion are DSMs. The 3g eclipse is NOT a DSM as it did not have anything to do with Chrysler. Thats whey an evo 8 is NOT considered a DSM.
@HippieHunta Late reply, but even though the 3G Eclipse was not considered a DSM per se, I'd like to point out that it shared platforms, drivetrains, and even interiors with the Dodge Stratus.
@HippieHunta Actually no, Technically the Galant VR4 is not a DSM. DSM's were made in Norma Illinois and really refer to the Laser/Talon/Eclipse. Hell all 2Gs are not really DSM's. However as far as enthusiasts go they are lumped in. The VR-4 however is usually not lumped into the DSM category. It was not made near those 3 etc. Basically the same way the 3000gt vr4 is not a DSM the galant Vr4 is not a dsm. Having a 4g63t does not make it a DSM.

I own a 60-1 galant vr4 and a CES stage2 M3(35r), before the galant a big turbo 1gb 6/4 bolt talon. Both fantastic and only similar in they are cars, have boost, and can suck money out of you. Other then that they differ neither really better depending on what your goals are. Hopefully that clears up what I meant.
either way, the m3 in this vid is not running anything close to 10 + psi lol, id be surprised if it was above 7 psi to be honest. that m3 looked slow considering it was a turbo. better off spending money on a euro 3.2 if you're gonna boost so low

re james very true just spun a rod bearing on my 95 did a six bolt swap egale rods wisceo pi stones balanced ported polished head bc valves springs retainers 280 bc cams head stud head gasket you name it i got it so hopefully with any luck this one will hold together and I'm only in it for 3,300.00 but did do a lot of the work my self but bimmer parts are still pretty price i used to work for rusnak "Porsche Audi BMW" all the part for those car are expensive even for me and i was an employee
The 95-99 E36 motors are easy to work on. and parts aren't very expensive either(Just never have the dealer do anything since their mechanics get like $100/hr lol). I have a 97 M3 3.2L and my buddies got a 1g DSM and it's faster than me but he's always fixing it. My M has no problems

for you user name to be what it is i don't think YOU have your facts straight an eclipse IS a DSM and 1 and 2g's had the 4g motors in them (turbo models) the non-turbo models had the Chrysler 420a motor
Clarification time: The 2G Spyder had a 4G64 SOHC like the 3G, but only the 1G and 2G got the 4G63T. The DSM phase ended with the 2G. Not all N/T motors were 420As like the 2G though as the 1g had either a 4G37 or 4G63 N/T. The 3G Eclipse, although not a DSM, still sits on a ST22 Chrysler platform that was designed for the Sebring. Please absorb and prosper.

I have both a 550whp dsm and a 540whp M3 and Id take the M3 over the Eclipse any day of the week.

that isnt comparable. A 4g63(which is what is in that dsm) only costs anywhere from $900-$1,200. Still, i think $3,000 isnt bad for a M motor.
