Yes, I went to Sipsongphanna six times all over Moung Sing, Phongsaly as well as Yunan Province, that's what I felt that they're still keep their own culture in secret beauty.
of course, every one call Thai, Tai, Dai, or Tai Sipsongphanna.
that's the way they are calling for since then,
For example: We're Lao American or Lao-Canadian or Lao-French etc...
After watching and listening Pee Nong Sipsongpanna, Lao-French, Lao-Issan in Thailand and Lao PDR and Lao living in abroad, I am completely overwhelmed delightful, all of whom have been able to maintain their cultural beauty and language. Last few days, I met one of my international students from Yunan (Sipsongpanna) and I spoke a Lao language to her and she responded back in Lao; we both were able to understand each other everything.

It's interesting that your username is xiengmai but you don't know what Thai lue is!There are various way to spell or say Tai Lue. You don't commonly hear people say Lao Lue. It commonly known as Thai, Tai, Dai, or Tai Sipsongpanna, or Lue depends on your dialect and accents.
The people call themselves Tai Lue. Lao Lue refers only to Tai Lue who live in Laos, same language family, everyone is Tai: Tai Lue, Tai Thai (Siam), Tai Lao, Tai Daeng, Tai Phuan, Tai Nyaw, Tai Dam, etc. Original ancestors of Lao people call themselves Tai.
