  • Looking forward to seeing more!

  • what type of lens did u use and what frame rate was this shot at?

  • 50mm Nikon Lens on a redrock M2 adapter. Shot at 24fps with a 1/24 shutter speed on the cam. mostly shot wide open due to lack of a lighting and what not. :P

thanks for watching and thanks for the comments, everyone!

  • Must say, very well done. The dialogu was a tad on the flimsy side but toher than that it was very well done. Great editing, great story w' twist, and great music! Definitely 4/5!

  • thanks a lot! it means a lot to us all, who worked very hard for 7 straight days, to have people watch and comment.

the kind words were nice to hear.

  • Very very cool my dude. Loved the look, that redrock does it rite. Great story with an awesome score. Keep this kind of work up great job for just 7 days. Peace.

  • thanks alot! very glad you enjoyed it. The redrock really sold the look alot and i have to thank the cast and crew (cast was crew) lol, for their patience and shooting all hours of the night.

  • Hey great job man. I am trying to achieve this look, The main actress is good.

  • aside from the 24fps shooting how did u achieve that quality. I am having a hard time achieving that professional look with my hvx200. I get tons of grain and a video look with lag. I see that you are have achieved it. can you please educate me on how to get it.

  • the depth of field and more filmish look was acheived using the redrockmicro M2 35mm Cinema Lens Adapter. I color corrected 100% of the movie to give it a different look than the straight look from the camera. the yellow dingy look. We didnt have more than 2 500w lights but just took practice and creativity.

  • do you prefer doing alot of adjustment in camera or just shoot pretty much raw and do everything in post? I prefer the post method but some people say it is better to get the look you want in the camera and do minor adjustment in post.

  • I prefer to do most everything in post when it comes to something like this. I think the master pedastal (blacks) is the only thing i really mess with in the cam. I agree with the post method!

  • I think that you would want to go easy with the master pedestal, and the gamma because you don't really want to crush the black in the raw footage eh. You would want the gamma and black setting "stretched" so you have more latitude that you can play with in post. you can always crush black in post but you can't bring back details lost in the black if you crush the it in camera.

  • thats true, i do go easy on it. I have found the blacks have been better crushed if you bring the Master Ped down to around -3 give or take before trying in post. It would depend on what exactly we are shooting :)

  • Realy nice, there was a little vinegtting and you need to buy a follow focus, or fire your focus puller. By the way kind of light kit did you use?

  • Thanks!about 90% of the vignetting was by choice, No excuse for it really. In the end , the look matched exactly to what i had in mind for the short though.vignetting was hit or miss with alot of people. LOL about the FF. I was cam op/director etc...pulled my own focus. Cam was around 13lbs with M2 etc. So i had to choose to throw focus out alot, and just play with it. Some shots are really crisp some are really bad and some are bad on purpose.

  • Light kit was just 2 500w bulbs on some 7ft high adjustable stands. did what we could with what he had in the week. Thank you for watching, i really appreciate the comments and do my best to check often

  • Nice! I just purchased the HVX and your film got me pumped. DB)

  • Thanks! Congrats on the HVX, I need to get pumped again too!

  • bad actors but the filme is nice..

  • That was REALLY good man. What kind of camera would you recommend someone like me after watching my last film....something affordable...thanks man...btw this was actually good I'm shocked...

  • An affordable cam capable of 24p would be the DVX100. Its the predecessor to what we have and used on this movie, the HVX200

  • LMAO. I just searched for it. When I said affordable I meant the 100-500 dollar range not the 1000-2000 dollar range. But I guess if I really want to start making good films I should go all out eh?

  • you dont need to go all out to make good films

  • how much diff`erence would the dvx with the adapter and lens be with the hvx w adap and lens? plus what lkens did you use, and what format were you shootiung? HD, dvcpro50?

  • well done. a perfect example of the hvx200`s potential. Good job

  • wow, great short film

  • Thanks!

  • You're audio was not very good. One major downfall of amature video/film is audio. The other is teen suicide plots.

  • CoolNic! A horror love story with twist ending.

A film career is calling your name!

    Keep 'em comin' dude!

  • cool shit

  • >_>

That was nice. Shows the pwn/uber-ness of your camera, Cynic.

  • What track is that in backround?

  • Custom sound track by my friend.

  • noooo!! soundtrack by my friend.

  • LOL. wtf?!

  • Cynic wow great short, music was awesome,

  • Hey that was a pretty wicked vid. :D
