Hey, I learned years ago that the Apache can speak Spanish and used the language for tradingand their over all dealings with the Mexicans that would come over the boarder from time to tim. Actually we do. In Oaxaca (mexican state) there used to be black people (tribes) Some mixed with olmecas, mayas, etc. We don't call them afros, because as long as we know they were always here. But they were black people, just like the black people from africa.

I don't think the U.S. census has caught on to the whole concept of people being mixed race, since they want you to pick one. I think the categories of Mestizo(White/Native), Mulatto(White/Black), and Pardo(White/Native/Black) should be added to the U.S. census form. The U.S. needs to recognize that there are now more mixed race people in the U.S..

I'm so happy to see someone finally addressing this issue. So many so-called hispanics/latinos grew up being taught they are white. So many African Americans have the same mix as these so-called hispanics/latinos, well the brown ones mainly. A lot of the mixture is African, Native American and Caucasion. Latino is a ethnicity. The Latino is the only ethnicity that receives special treatment. You will not find Jewish, Greek, Turk or Italian on the US Census. Although you will find a variety of Latino groups.

I watch the Little League World Series every year and half the team looks half black mixed with native american and then you have one or two that look white and indian. Hey, I learned years ago that the Apache can speak Spanish and used the language for tradingand their over all dealings with the Mexicans that would come over the boarder from time to tim. It's part of some Native culture but speaking Spanish doesn't make you hispanic anymore than not knowing how to speak it erases your Spanish heritage.

I don't think the U.S. census has caught on to the whole concept of people being mixed race, since they want you to pick one. I think the categories of Mestizo(White/Native), Mulatto(White/Black), and Pardo(White/Native/Black) should be added to the U.S. census form. The U.S. needs to recognize that there are now more mixed race people in the U.S..

Why do you need science to define you when history does and equally good job of that. Maybe in some ways better cuz testing for genealogy isn't really 100% accurate. I'm so happy to see someone finally addressing this issue. So many so-called hispanics/latinos grew up being taught they are white. So many African Americans have the same mix as these so-called hispanics/latinos, well the brown ones mainly. A lot of the mixture is African, Native American and Caucasion. Spaniards are not descendents of Arabs, Spaniards are White European of Mediterranean origin. I watch the Little League World Series every year and half the team looks half black mixed with native american and then you have one or two that look white and indian. I believe mexicans are more mulatto than mestizo. We only see the lighter ones on tv or movies. Honestly, some of the kids in Little League looked P. Rican.

Just a spanish surname on the mexican...beyond that, most of us are Aztec with a drop of white blood from 500 years ago. Very good video, I like your personal opinion but it still doesn't answer why they would put to boxes for us to decide either if we are white or black or any other race. Is it true that if you don't categorize yourself that your people would not get the right funding since you are saying to be true and answer correctly but if you answer white then there won't be any money for our communities.
