Now I know better, so thanks for poking me. (If you want to know: Most popular content is moved to a content delivery network; CDNs replicate content in multiple places, can use more/friendlier networks; CDN machines mostly serve out of memory. Less popular content uses YouTube servers in various colo sites.)

Okay, I like the song and the singer -- but what's with the server? The stream just c-r-a-w-l-s. You either pause the video and wait ten minutes for the buffer to fill up, or listen in 5-second installments. Not the way to win listeners.
