  • I was a little bit disappointed with this book. Oryx and Crake kept me reading because the details of the apocalyptic event remained a mystery until the very end. Because the events in this novel are taking place simultaneously with the events in Oryx and Crake is precious little mystery involved. I thought the novel would have been better ms. Atwood chose to write a straight sequel. I also though the characters in this one were less compelling than the characters in O&C.

  • I just finished it. Great book and insight on today's culture. I would love to hear what others think of this book.

  • I'm dying to get this book after having read Oryx and Crake a year or two ago. I'm also looking at the book you suggested on Amazon, and the preview looks good so far. I might get it if I can find it in my library. =]

Another book that would go well with these is "Idlewild" by Nick Sagan -- yes, he is the son of Carl Sagan, but with a much different writing style and preference. It's part of a series, all of which are pretty good (although the second one for me was only so-so).

    Anyway, thanks!
