I love this concerto. I'm a student violist learning the Rondo from Stamitz Concerto No. 2 right now, but I want to learn the J.C. Bach C minor concerto next.
I love this movement. And thank you for actually playing the speed it should be. We had to learn the first two movements for tryout for district orchestra my freshman year but I never got a chance to learn this movement. Maybe I will someday. From a fellow viola player, good luck in your future career.
This song is one of the best and yet easiest songs to play because of the speed and the rhythme of it is so up beat.
very good. took me a while to find you. i wanted a video with a piano acc. not an orchestra...
Question: the last cord you play right before the cadenza, what notes to you play. its an F#, Bb and (do you play an E or something else. cause there are two versions.. i want to play it right... )
@woobinchang From top to bottom of the chord, A (same pitch as the harmonic on the A string), E (diminished 4th down from the A), then F# (minor sixth down from the E). I'm fairly certain that's what she played.
I'm learning this song now, and don't let anyone say it's not that good, because obviously it is? Sure it's not perfect, but I mean...for it to be perfect is nearly impossible. I think it's great. I'm sure anyone saying it's bad couldn't do it any better.
This is the best version of this piece I've seen on youtube. Congratulations. There are a few problems with it but I'm sure a player like you knows what they are.
Secondly thank you for posting this. I'm currently playing this and this video helped me to see some alternatives to bowings I was using before.
i finally did my test on this at the end of may. and the only difference between our versions.. the bowings of course. but my teachers had me stay in the lower half like almost the whole time.. except on the slurred notes that were supposed to have a good tone :] but overall i think i did just as well as you :D good job ^-^
malo! demasiado desafinado! como suben conciertos asi?? es para que vean como "no se deben tocar"??? es muy mala version, tiempos inestables, muchos portamentos, ataques impresisos!
although the tempo was a bit slower then its soposed to be, that was an amazing performance. im doing the second movement, and wanna try this one next .
yeah, she did look pretty nervous, and this is kindof a slow tempo marking, but asides from the opening phrase which is pretty difficult with tuning issues, I think this was effectual performance.
nice!im 12 and i just started this piece, my teacher expects me to get it in about 3 weeks cuz i have an upcoming competition, talk about time limitation
Fun Fact- Many experts do not think J.C. Bach actually wrote this piece. Henri Casadesus was said to write this piece in the style of J.C. Bach and another piece in the style of Handel.
bravo! technically a very good performance. If i may give my 2 cents (because i did enjoy it): the tempo never really picks up to how it starts once you go into the senza tempo, drags a little. And the double stops marked piano could be every so sprinkly and sparky (change of character?) =) but that's just my take i enjoyed yours a lot and i wish you luck in your studies
I really like this concerto, if you're still practicing it, listen to your chords closely and adjust until they sound good, and the same between you and the piano. But you did a wonderful job, I can see and hear that this piece is difficult.

niezbyt dobre wykonanie, ale rozumiem że granie przed takim audytorium i na tak poważnym konkursie może być stresujące
