I was probably fishing on that part of Old Hickory Lake that day. :) Connie Dickens? I only recall Little Jimmy having one wife... Mona. Still has her far as I know. Now "Tater" has been around longer that most, and maybe he's got an ex stashed way back in some closet, but I would check on that story. I was born and raised in Nashville and learned long ago that about half the stories you hear told around here are fabricated. Lost count of how many "sons" of Elvis I've met here.
Children: Pamela Jean (adopted), Lisa (Mona’s daughter)
Recognized for his strong voice and small physical stature, Little Jimmy Dickens skyrocketed to fame in 1949 and 1950 with a string of novelty and "heart" songs on Columbia Records.
MaryWr1124 - What a great story, thank you for stopping by and sharing. I know that must be a very special picture to you. My daughter wrote Johnny a note after we returned to NC and low and behold he wrote her "in his had writing" a note back and signed it. I have the note in my special papers today. God Bless.
I was lucky to visit the House of Cash with my parents in the 1970s when I was just a kid. One thing that I remember is how beautiful the place was and how the woman at the desk welcomed me. She gave me a personal tour and she was Johnny's mother. I still have the picture I took with her .It is a shame the House of Cash is no more as Johnny and June are legends. The funny part is everyone thought I was one of the Cash kids and started asking me for autographs as Johnny's Mom was so nice to me.
ancientastronomer - thanks for your comment. Yes, I'm very glad that we made that trip and got see the House of Cash as well as Johnny's house. He and June are surely missed.
I grew up in Hendersonville Tn. Johnny's house was only a 3 Mile drive from
mine. Your film is dated 75'. I was 16 Yrs old then. Be glad you and your family experieced this doring the time-frame that you did. Johnny's house burned to the ground within a Yr of his death. The Country Music Hall of Fame is GONE. The House of Cash,( His personal recording studio ) is
somthing else now. As I recall, Johnny's house was the last one on that street. The dead-end road NOW extends into a nieghborhood.
Thanks Caseyangus for your comment. I had Johnny's music in the background but youtube said someone complained so I had to use some of their music. What a shame.
