@djwadie - You have let the cat out of the bag! If, as you say, you are involved in the tribute/lookalike industry then your comments are clearly based on your commercial interest and the band(s) you are promoting. All I can tell you is the truth, that's not my truth or your truth it's confirmable information. These guys in Kins of Leon are all accomplished musicians in their own right. Together in a tribute band they play to thronging audiences in excess of 25,000 with rave reviews from fans
@petergriffin77 hahaha I love the great sense of pride you get when you prove a cocky person wrong.. Spelt is a word.. proof is in a dictionary. try looking one up sometime :)
Woah! Was just saying! I've been in bands and played lots of gigs and know full well that it is very hard to get stuff spot on; I'm certain I've never done a completely flawless gig! I also love tribute bands: Mercury particularly are phenomenal. I was not trying to make any sort of cheap shot, merely stating where things in the performance didn't quite seem to click for me, but you're absolutely right that it is very easy to say it whilst not there. If I get a chance, I'll try and see them.
I'm hoping that my comment above compensates for the ones below! Re: the recording quality, I know it is a live recording, I would never expect a studio quality recording, I meant more that it makes some of it a bit more difficult to hear. I don't like your comment that I "extend my rhythmic vocabulary" though. The fact that the band wasn't thrown out means that the fill was in time, by what I said below I meant it didn't sound, for me at least, as if it quite fitted.
It's mainly the singer's guitar playing, comes in late several times. Don't know whether it's on purpose but the drum fill is really out leading into the chorus at about 3:10. Also, (this is nout to do with the song itself), but the dragged out bit in the middle just didn't work - I know what he was hoping to do with cajoling the audience, but insulting them... Still a good cover, definitely above average cover bands and worthy of success, just a couple of flaws in this particular performance.
Guys. - get down & see them live. Even the original artists make mistakes sometimes. It's a bit of a cheap shot to sit in your armchair and dissect a live performance. The place was packed & the crowd went mental !!! Nuff said. If you want absolute perfection, go buy the CD!!! If you want to see a great live band go see them live & then criticise, I'm sure they'd be glad to hear your comments
The drumfill isn't "out" at all. You just need to increase your rhythmic vocabulary. The fill in no way threw the band off, now did it. Answer = nope.
no way was he insulting the audience, i was there at that performance they smashed it, they were quality, the audio in the video doesn't help though the crowd was well loud but didnt sound it in this vid, they are the nuts!
Clearly you are not a musician sir! 'All wrong again' does not apply to music. This is a 'LIVE' performance. This is a Tribute Band, and a very good one. The lads are playing their interpretation of the song. I was there, and saw this performance live, were you? Think I might know what the D J stands for and it's not Disc Jockey! lol Don't worry I won't tell anyone else.
@Keffladon i think i know what im talking about the tribute/lookalike industry is what my business is and these guys are pants kings of lyon are alot better and you saying 'The lads are playing their interpretation' the whole point of being a tribute band is to sound and play like the original band and dj are my innitals and if you were there shame on you and your ears!!

The mix on this recording is pristine, considering it is a board feed.
