Even though it says to add more try only using 1.5 to 2 coffee cans. You'll see it works better. At the AC pool show they had a DE filter setup to see the insides. They began to add the DE; the first 2 scoops coated the grids and 5 or so scoops afterwards did nothing but clump up at the bottom of the filter and excessively raise the pressure in the filter. We've been adding less DE to all our pools and haven't had any trouble since.
That DE is not going into a cartridge filter. It is going into a DE filter with grids that consists of 8 grids.The De is for the purpose of coating the grids to catch the dirt.
why aren`t you premixing the d.e. with water first?the filter grids will get caked by the d.e.!you should be setting a better example!

I believe you are supposed to premix the DE one pound of water to two pounds of DE

Right it is not high impact plastic but infact is fiberglass.

So you are putting DE in a regular cartridge filter system?
