sounds damn good man. i've got an 08 v6 and did a similar setup, cut the single exhaust back to roughly the last 3/4 of the car, put the Y piping on and left it without mufflers. granted it's not as beasty sounding as your SS but it still does the trick

sounds better than the rattly aftermarket muffs out there, but I dare say you're not doing your engine any favors by running it that way. Mufflers do after all serve more functions to an engine than merely quieting the exhaust stream...

it sounds good idling but when you reved it it sounded like a car with no exhaust. im not hating i love the car and respect what your doing but i thing you should do a aftermarket muffler.i have a trailblazer ss so your part of the family i wouldnt steer you wrong. add a magnaflow muffler and remove the resonator,cold air intake and add a superchip or diablo tuner and you will have a nasty car capable of 13 second timeslips.. keep modding

I'll bet your neighbours love you! I did something similar to my Impala, but the noise was too much. After a while I got sick of everyone complaining about it. Wasn't very good on the highway either, couldn't hear myself think at 60 MPH! That sounds pretty awesome though, a very meaty rumble.

You wouldnt loose any power and would drop a negligible amount (less than 0.5%) of torque without mufflers or resonator using 2.5" pipes (standard size). You only start getting negative effects and dropping torque when using oversized pipes without adding power and torque (heads, cam, intake, forced induction...etc.) on the engine.

@tripovermyego Usually when you use Nite-Shades you don't bake them. I don't know what would happen if you baked Nite-Shades, but it is a possibility I guess.

@2001CarGuySS you don't HAVE to bake them. You can just leave them alone to dry, baking just speeds up the process. Wet sanding then buffing won't hurt either. Once they've dried.
