  • nice work dude flawless work

  • Portnoy 420s?

  • Wow you got Portnoy style!

    Luv your fills

  • Lol. A7X drum cover with A4X symbals..

    Did i win? XD

  • Most of the drumming was good, except the audio. Natural born killer is one of my fav songs and specially the drumming. Rev was a natural born killer when it came to drums.

  • Very good job dude very good 2 thumbs up

  • Yah man, very nice job!

God bless ya, greetings from Brazil.

  • Yay!! XD

  • super nice playing

  • Nice playing!

  • Nice work, mate!

wish i could have such of good symbals that you have...

  • @JonZuuuPS3

thanks man, as for the cymbals I got a job mainly to pay for them. Sadly the china and the right crash are reaching the end of their days due to cracks (you can tell they sound like theyre dying), so you shouldn't be too jealous! Just keep an eye out on ebay, I picked up the hi-hats for £90 when they would usually sell for I dunno...more than £200 probably. Barely used! good luck.

  • @JonZuuuPS3 there sabians bro.... not that great. however he does rock the hell out of em

  • i dont think those should be 8th's. Its deffinately 4th's in the song

  • oh fuck ur teacher cross over when ever u fell like it theres no better teacher than urself. ive been playing for 6 years im 17 and i tought myself its waaaaaaay better

  • Nice video man, what cymbals do you use, and do you use a drum rack and what set do you play on???/

  • EPIC DING 0:26

  • such a hard song to play. but you did it

  • I didn't realize it was 8ths for the high hats.... who knew... great cover, man

  • AWESOME!

  • Pause at 3:47 to lose your soul to the devil.

  • oh also, how long did it take you to master this song? how long do you think it would me, a newb of 2-3 months to learn it? thanks a lot!@

  • hey, i have a ludwig 5 piece kit with a crash and hi-hat. I need more cymbals but don't know where to get them for a decent price. what kind of cymbals do you have? im a newb to drumming so i just need a couple cheapos. if you would kindly tell me where to buy whatever other cymbals i need then i'd greatly appreciate.

I really enjoyed the video, nightmare is one of my favorite albums by a7x! my teacher tought me not to crossover like you are doing. is that good advice or no? P.S.

    SUBBED!

  • @ritznbitzgaming

I only buy high-end Sabian cymbals, and they're unfortunately very pricey. Sadly it's not easy to find good deals on cymbals. Try ebay. I got the hi-hats in this for a quarter price, second-hand. There was nothing on the cymbals that would suggest they're second hand though.

What is crossover? right arm over left for hi-hats? That's a preference thing, I would rather not crossover actually.

I filmed this a day after it came out. that's why I forget some fills. cheers

  • @ritznbitzgaming sorry, not a day after it came out. A day after hearing it. which was probably a couple days after it came out haha.

  • @ritznbitzgaming If you aren't a member of the DRUMMERWORLD forum, please go join. They're the most helpful group of drummers on the internet.

They're ALL going to suggest looking on eBay or similar sites for use pro-level cymbals. They're the best value.

  • @ritznbitzgaming im fairly ne to drumming also, id go with sabian b8 or meinl, thats what i started with

  • nice cover :)

  • awesome dude this is my favorite song to play

  • man, in class i act like i can do this, but i cant, so it makes me feel bad

  • @MarkRiches ----dont worry i get my nastyz confused 2...actually i juz found out dat nasty = compliment a few days ago ^_^....but yea nice drumming!!!

  • by the way i went WILD!!! and suscribed 2

  • really precise on the fills, but in the parts that goes "you wanna talk about" and "wanna fight about it" your double baths 16th notes arw a bit uneven and dirty. clean it up, otherwise REALY good cover.

  • Nice :D Very Nice

  • it must be annoying everytime u gotta pee u gotta like leap over ur drums

  • @chocozor

    hahahaha excellent :')

  • @MarkRiches

  • @MarkRiches he just gave u a compliment and asked u how much ur drum kit cost?! Da fuck is wrong with u?

  • @lilbodomchild

hahaha. didn't realise "pretty nasty" was a compliment.

  • @MarkRiches Pretty nasty as in badass i supposed.

  • @syafiq202

aye I suppose. I'm just very weary of internet comments!

  • @MarkRiches If you're not rich, explain your name "MarkRiches".

  • @TheHappyProductionz

    Riches is my father's surname.

  • @heywatsup617

apologies for the misinterpretation sir. The drums themselves cost around £600

  • very God

  • The parts in the song I'm sure you guys know were probably intended to be double ride but MP didn't do it.

  • ROCK ON!!!!

  • lol dude from the side there for a moment i almost thought you were Kevin P. from attack of the show

  • Nice job! Just need mics and your set(x

  • awosome....you play fantastically the drums...i have no words to say

  • crazy awsome double bass

  • Comment removed

  • I'm just takin' a wild guess at this but, I'm gonna say it lol.

    (From left to right)

    14 inch hi-hats

    16 inch crash

    16 inch china

    18 inch crash

and finally a 20 inch ride

    btw excellent work!

  • mark, its okay, the hi hat hits aren't x8, they're x4, don't worry, this is literally perfect. A+ dude.

  • DING!

  • Dude you are awesome \m/

  • HAHAHAHHA!!! I FUCKING LMAOD AT THE HI HAT IT SOUNDED KINDA LIKE A.. HUMPPA BEAT YOU KNOW?Or jazz :D- But dude somehow your kit sounds too soft for the song? idk something about it.

  • @joeyjunior111

easily amused eh. what on earth is a Humppa beat? This is the most bizarre criticism I've had.

  • @MarkRiches Duh lol. Its.... well i cant explain. Humppa is just a type of music/genre. Its very slow or stuff like that or idk.

Its not ANY ANY MEANS BY ANY MEANS popular in other countries than finland where i live. Its kinda like pop/rock/but slower usually.

But your kit just somehow sounds too... uh soft for this song to play.

  • @MarkRiches humppa is finnish traditional music, kinda like polka.. .

  • @joeyjunior111

the volume is lowered so people don't complain about their ears hurting. It wouldn't be a problem if I had proper recording gear, but I'm not rich!

  • @MarkRiches Oh. Ok.

  • @MarkRiches all those sabians and you ain't rich? rofl at least where I live sabians cost a bundle!

  • @murilobizkitbrito

it isn't easy man. I've gathered those over 4 years, and the china and the AAX crash are craaaacked.

  • @joeyjunior111 its not like if u can do any better.. so just shudup..

  • @m3xasesin0 I know dude! This drummer is amazing but the kit sounds abit soft, READ! He said he needs better gear for recording if best sound. Its still nice cover.

  • @joeyjunior111 ;theyre's 1 thing for it tune ur kit lad make the snare tighter!!! ur un real tho!!!

  • @metalfreak149 WTF dude.... l2s (learn to speak).

Tune ur kit? if you cant? I know tighter for nice metal and shit sound its nice.

  • spectacular

  • you are baws

  • @0:27 it really is 4ths on the hi-hat, portnoy just used a really loose setting on it to get that open sound that imitates 8ths. You can hear the hits though, and when the cymbals reverb off each other it sounds like 8ths.

also, great job on that intro, it's hard to nail , same with the pre-chorus

overall great job man, keep it up!

  • do you have any tips or thoughts for someone who wants to start real drumming and only experience is rock on expert?

  • @Redvsblue2132

I could think of many! I'll post them in tidbit factoid form: nothing beats a drumming teacher - a metronome should be your best friend - chicks dig drummers - jazz is where the best drummers are - you should look up vids of, off the top of my head, Gavin Harrison, Vinnie Colaiuta, Steve Gadd and see if you're impressed - ALWAYS PROTECT YOUR EARS - remember to warm up before playing - there is a huge "feel" difference between budget and pricey sticks unfortunately - ENJOY!

  • @MarkRiches i was thinking maybe you'd have ideas on drum sets for beginners.

  • @Redvsblue2132

haha :) well man I started off with this kit by some company called Session Pro. I don't know if it even exists anymore but that's about as cheap as a kit gets. It sucks BUT if you get a nice set of heads on there, learn how to tune them - they're not TOO bad...have a look for them maybe?

Also, for a surprisingly cheap but pretty good back of cymbals - look up Zildjian Planet Z

  • @MarkRiches i was thinking maybe you'd have ideas on drum sets for beginners.

  • your great man keep it up

  • what china is that?

  • @MeDrumsAlot

    is a sadly very-cracked AAX stage 17"

  • yes,yes we are fucking friendly till you diss the band >:]

  • there are some places that need improvement but overall good cover

  • Dramatic Chipmunk at 3:46 =D

  • SABIAN FOR THE WIN!!!! and EPIC skills too bro ;D loved the cover

  • Reaalleeeehhh GUUUUUUD

  • hey man nice job..at 0:30 i do double ride its sounds cooler

  • what kit is that (pearl...?)

  • @MarkRiches this is a opnion question... tell me more drummaster :/

  • @BF2142Fitgh it's not a question. I'm just not gonna spend a LOT of cash buying some Paiste cymbals because you prefer them over Zildjians (which there aren't any of in the video!)

  • good version... Change ur sabian set man... Paiste > Sabian / Zildjan > Sabian / Paiste > all

  • @BF2142Fitgh

    no offense intended, but no...

  • @BF2142Fitgh dude sabian are like the best cymbals out there, zildjian crack paiste are mediocre, sabians are metal plus good volume intensity and they last... do some research

  • awesome cover!! could you please do save me - a7x?

  • @gibya111

    working on it

  • symbals are too loud, i know its hard rock music, but it doesant mean you have to over power your entire kit by bashing those symbals

  • holy shit man ur sick at those double bass beats n e suggestions?

  • @MrArmyGUNZ

A nice high-end pedal always helps. As well as making sure it's well-oiled, makes a huge difference. Start off slow and keep a steady pace going, crank it up once in a while until you find you're getting tired playing. That's where you want to work on until it gets easy. Then speed it up a little.

Really is that simple, just make sure you're playing very consistently.

  • @MarkRiches thanks alot man

  • Do you have any tips on really fast double bass? Does it matter what kind of Double Kick have? I have a P-902 Pearl Double kick.

  • @AlphaBlast1

I don't know about that pedal but I'll say what everyone else would say (because it's true :D ) start off slow and keep a consistent beat, work on it for a while. Up the tempo a little, keep doing this.

I always thought I was pretty terrible at DB. I just took my Iron Cobras apart the other day and oiled all the springs and joints, my speed is currently FLYING and both my left and right pedals are at equal volume. So I recommend oiling up too, no WD-40 though!!!!

  • damn i wish i could do anything like that with the bass i suck... cant keep the speed

  • @drakengardian

What kind of pedals ya rocking?

  • @MarkRiches not completely sure i know the were made by pacific i got them from a old friend of my dads and he can beat the hell outta them :/

  • @drakengardian

well as I just said to somebody else, if you need any advice that is: start off slow and keep a consistent beat, work on it for a while. Up the tempo a little, keep doing this.

  • Congratulations!!! Fantastic !!

  • 4:42 i liked how that sounded

  • what kind of set do you have

  • Badass cover!.. good job

  • Wow freaking epic cover! Can't wait to see more of your work!

  • damn good cover bro im gonna try to cover the song too lol im scared to mess uP lol

  • ITCHY NOSE FTW

  • Nice vid, Your really good. I subscribed because your a cool cat.

  • DING ;D

  • I love me some Sabian cymbals. And Paiste.

  • @worthlessprotoplasm

I've went on a huge Iron Maiden spree recently and I'm now really interested in Paiste. Such great tone on them!!

  • @MarkRiches Paiste is really amazing, but I really prefer Sabian.

  • wow man your a great drummer you really should go get yourself some mics, your bass drum sounds like someone is bouncing a tennis ball really fast and not like a cannon the way it should sound.

  • Wow!!! dude your awesome.

  • you are way better than all the people i have watched

  • Very good job, man!

  • NICE

  • 0:30 4ths is perfect, what you're missing there is the open hi hat feelin'

Oh yeah, and this is a great song to play, congrat dood!

  • Nice Drums :)

  • sabian.... pretty sure its the best cymbals you can ever get... but damn are they expensive

  • yeah i love the DING! =)

  • This is a really good cover, There are some fills that sound of beat, but really who cares. Btw, really smooth double bass.

  • No it's quarter notes on the hi hat, you're fine....

  • You don't play it exactly like the original, but very good playing dude, cheers up for you ;)

  • This is beautiful. I just tried playing this on my set and failed. Oh well.

I've been meaning to get a set like yours. Is there a specific way one would refer to the way you have it setup? Particularily the snare set between the toms like that.

  • @Fesuasda

The setup, no idea...I'm not very pleased with it though. I struggle to hit the snare loud enough when my right hand's on the hi hats, especially for faster parts (if you check any of my faster song vids you'll see, my stick barely goes up and the snare sounds quiet!)

I think I might really dramatically change it...hi hats on the right or something...dunno!

  • @MarkRiches Hehe, I keep my hi hat between my toms on a drop clutch and put my snare on the left of my left leg keeping it seperate from the rest of the kit, then I put two other crashes around the snare, so it leaves my snare hand free to do cymbals instead of being confined to the snare while I'm sitting the hi hat.

  • @tinboy98

glad someone caught that :P in my defense this video was made a day after album release...

  • @MarkRiches Really fucking good for one day at learning the song. I play guitar but a big fan of the drums and this is now my favorite A7X song. Awesome cover

  • Props dude. that was pretty sick!

  • Hold on while I clean my brain off the walls, because my mind was blown!!!

  • rico!

  • You fucking nailed it dude (Y) :)

  • i play guitar but i no badass druming when i see it.. that is fukn AMAZING!! keep it brutal bro...

  • Your China sounds the same as mine. They sound so good :D

  • 0:17 - 0:27 lmao that's awesome!! x)

  • nice

  • your hi hat makes me jizz.

    your cymbals make me orgasm.

you double bass speed makes me climax.

    it was a total eargasm.

you just need to open the hi hats when doing each verse.

    but other than that,

    5 stars and subbed. :)

  • haha i love the bell its my favorite part

  • open your hi-hat.

  • nice nice nice nice =)
