Rusty Cooley is such a badass he's the reason I started playing fast still not up to his level but I've only been lpaying a year and something, I can sweep cleanly, Alt, Economy, String Skip (not so cleanly :P) Legato, trills, and tap with 2 fingers at the most but I'm working on it :P I just need to get faster, but I've taken some time in the "Deshred" chamber and listened to some old classics like BB king and Hendrix so I don't become unmusical :P lol

I love how people talk about how others are faster than Rusty. Rusty is fast enough. What has always drawn me to his playing is his phrasing, groupings, and overall musicality. Though strong influences of Jason Becker and Shawn Lane are apparent; Rusty's originality is always present in the development of his ideas. There's a lot of fast players out there but Rusty imbues his playing with attitude that really puts it over. Love this shit.
