  • Also most ukes and strings are intended for "re-entrant" gCEA tuning, with the G being one octave higher. You can easily get sets of "Non Re-entrant: strings with a much thicker G string, often these are metal-wound, and these will produce the low G nicely.

  • Normally Risas have a low action. What model is it. acoustic, electric? Did you buy it new? It might have got warped, perhaps being placed on a radiator or by a sunlit window, or it might need to have its saddle/nut lowered. A good luthier or repairer at a music shop should be able to set it up nicely for you.

  • Hi.............I have a risa tenor which i have just bought and the action is so high! I have put worth strings on it so that i can get a low G but i cant get on with it.any ideas?

  • Oops sorry, it IS the Soprano model, I also have the Tenor which I actually use more often, so I assumed it was on this demo. The tunes are my own compositions, and full versions are on my CDs

  • Great song!...great performer! and an interestingly great uke!... WOW!!!!!

  • @SalPedi Many thanks! The ukulele is made by the German company RISA (named after its founder Rigk Sauer). It is their "Solid Tenor" model, a little bigger than the more normal Soprano size. It has a Piezo pick up under the bridge. It is incredibly portable and almost silent when played acoustically so I can practice anywhere without disturbing anyone, but plugged into an amp you can get any sound and effects pedal you like. RISA make Acoustic and semi-acoustic models too.

  • Thanks folks!

  • fantastic!

  • YUM!
