In my damage comparison with just 3 more hits, Squall's Limit Break would be stronger than Blitz Ace.

Zidane not much to say, since it's only 1 hit and does only 9,999 so basically, FF9 is weak compare to 7,8 and 10.

In Final Fantasy 8 Squall's Lionheart ALONE without the start has about 17 hits, but with added combo with the original start it's about either 5 or even more extra hit depending how he starts, and also does much more damage then Cloud's cause of extra hits alone.

I'm a major FF fan, and know what I'm about to say.

In Final Fantasy 7, Cloud's Onnislash can only reach up to 9,999 worth of damage and hit about 15 times AND you need to wait for your limit break to fill up again by letting your enemy hit you lots of times.

@RukudoSage69 Think again. It's obvious that in FFX the damage limit of one attack was 99,999 while on FFVII and FVIII it was 9,999. If you consider it by counting how many the char hits the enemy during a limit break, Squall's Lionheart wins by far. It's like 20 times 9,999 damage :D

@midnightraver19 The difference is, you don't wait for it, since the trance effect isn't the important thing about the attack, the normal mode attack, thievery, is way more important, cause the damage it deals rises the more successfull steals you had, and easily deals 9999 damage. Grand Lethal does just exist because it has to.

@midnightraver19 It isn't a freakin' Limit Break! The trance mode itself is the limit break, the attacks are just it's special moves. If it was necessary or not is another topic. Also, FF games didn't have Limit Breaks until FF6, and FF9 tried to go back to the roots, that's why there are no big limit breaks, the whole trance thing seems to be mainly a reference to Terra from FF6. That's also the reason why no attack hits multiple times in that game.

All those Limit break are awesome! I have to say Omnislash are my favorite. Grand Lethal only does one hit, but if what "floooooooooooooooood" said is true (which I'm pretty sure about it) if it's used 4 times, then it's still pretty strong.

Now about Terra Break, I HATE THAT MOVE! You have to use "Defend" ability before it uses that to avoid getting killed and if you face it one on one and you failed to use it, then game over. >_< Anyway, thank you for sharing it. It was fantastic!

Grand Lethal might not be as strong as the others but bear in mind it does hit all enemies and can be used four times in a row. That coupled with the fact that it's learned quite early in the game should put it on par with the others.

Zidane was one of the few FF protagonists besides Bartz/Butz that had a positive outlook on life. He didn't fill a great combat role like many others but he was the backbone of the party, the thing that helped keep them together. Squall may have been a good fighter but he was a somewhat mediocre leader and nearly as uninspiring as Cloud or "It"

FF8's Shockwave Pulsar is my favorite "ultimate" enemy attack. It's also the only attack that can break the damage limit (I think Eden can too, I'm not sure about that though). Considering Quistis can learn it, it's pretty broken in the endgame. The End is still more broken, though.

@SethFarron Army of One was never meant to be physically powerful. It CAN be (if an enemy is broken, use it and then quickly switch to a paradigm where she is COM, and each hit does COM damage instead of RAV damage), but it's primarily used to quickly knock an enemy's break gauge up to maximum, thus making everything ELSE ridiculously powerful. So it's still pretty fuckmazing for that reason.

Zidane's Grand Lethal doesn't really qualify as an ultimate attack (in the traditional sense): it only hits once for 9999! Omnislash/Lionheart/Blitz Ace all hit multiple times for 9999+ damage each strike, like an ultimate attack should. Guess he needs yet one more thing to compensate for something...
