This is not similar to Bioshock at all. I know this game sucks though and wont be getting it. Gamecock Media needs to stop making games. Gamecock does not have a good history. I stay away from them because most of there games suck. Thats why if people have not noticed it went down in price ratherly quickly. If the game was good it would have stayed at the price longer. Your not going to get a good game very cheap. Since this one was there has to be something wrong with it.

That's fine if you think they were. It's just a difference in opinion. The first one was pretty fun and the second one was alright, but the story for each of the games, which I can't help but take into account when playing a game, was pretty weak throughout all three. It was pretty much a big-ass Star Trek episode about the Borg, far as I'm concerned.

If you liked them, great, I hope they bring many good memories for you. I don't really enjoy them, though.

Yes, Dead Space was a third-person shooter set in a horror-type setting, just like Resident Evil 4 and soon to be RE5. Tell me what's horrifying in a game where you get a gun that launches and controls a sawblade, rotating at an extremely high velocity, when there are monsters in front of you which aren't even creepy popping out of every B-Rated Hollywood-style orifice on a big chunk of metal.

I guess I just don't scare easy, and as such, consider it a shooter more than survival horror.

Well to each their own. It sounds like your starting requirements for the abilities of a protagonist begin somewhere around hopeless and dip sharply from there into the likes of Fatal Frame and Clocktower.

God knows those were quality titles, I'm just not a fan of sheer helplessness in my gaming characters.

Can't deny that I'd prefer my character to be an average person thrown into a horrible situation. A bit of combat prowess is still desirable, I just prefer the situation to seem dire and feel like I'm actually surviving coming out from each encounter with an enemy, as opposed to encountering one monster that I can quickly tear asunder.

Isaac was a fine character, his weapons felt overpowered, to me, for a horror game. Again, just my thoughts and personal preferences.

No, I understand. The more I think about it, the more I see what you mean. Framing it in the reference of horror does seem a bit over powered. It'd be odd to see a movie with a so called average person tearing through monsters that fast.

My only concern is what makes a good movie wouldn't make a good game. It's great fun to watch someone run from every shadow for 90 minutes, but if I'm not playing clock tower, I suppose my testosterone wants blood.

And that's what I would play Dead Space for. Because while it isn't a horror, it is gory, nasty, deliciously bloody and disgusting. So that is what I would play Dead Space for, but that's also the reason I have games like Left 4 Dead (action-packed gore) and Silent Hill (strategic gore). So just have fun with what you like.
